2025 Detroit Lions

Chicago brawler Pat O'Connor signed to the Lions' practice squad. Started season active. Had big plays down the stretch last season.

WR Tom Kennedy is the
@NFL's first player to produce three kickoff returns of 35+ yards and a punt return of 20+ yards in a single game since Josh Cribbs did so on Nov. 18, 2007.

WSTD of the Week. Since I am a fount of unsuccessful ideas I'll go ahead and say that I think a retired WSTD could write a book detailing in an honest fashion the travails of a decent but average player of paleness and how they made a living on the edge of the NFL. I get the whole thing that even if you understand the caste dynamics that you keep your head down and mouth shut. But once in retirement an honest appraisal done with some humor and wit would sell. FTR it would mostly cast shade on the White cucks.

Intrigued to see what Dan Jackson can do once healthy.

It's quite possible Dan Jackson is already healthy (and has been for a while), which is very unfortunate. Lions did not disclose the nature of his injury, but quickly put him on season-ending injured reserve, with no designation of return. Giving Dan Campbell's words in early August, the injury probably wasn't devastating. Even a 3 month injury would've brought him back by mid-season.

In retrospect, that (season-end IR) might've been a bad move, as reports indicated he was destined to be the Lions #3 or #4 safety. With all the injuries, he would've probably been starting since week 10 or prior and could've really helped out a depleted secondary?

Same with Patriots tailback Lan Larison, who was fully expected to make the team, but broke his foot in early August. Black Chargers rookie RB had a similar injury as Lan and missed only like 7 weeks. Considering the date of Larison's injury, he could been back by the end of September or some point in October, but the Pat's chose to not use one their designation's to return on him. And they could've used Larison mid-season, as a rash of injuries occurred at RB.

BTY, in addition to Jackson and Larison, very impressive rookie safety Hunter Wohler (Colts) was also put on season-ending IR in August. Unfortunately, Wohler's injury appeared to be significant (Lis-franc), so let's hope he's healed up by next season.

Again, been some tough injuries for rookies: Wohler and Cam Skattebo could've made 1st team all-rookie, but suffered serious injuries. And Larison and Jackson could've really made a nice impact by mid-season, if the NFL had less restrictive IR rules.

Appreciate the insight! Yes some serious injuries for the rookie class! Wohler and Jackson need to come back strong. Our DB numbers are limited enough as is!
