Thank god. Maybe he’s had a master plan with all this 400 nonsense.

According to this short interview from 1 week ago he is sticking with the 400 meters. This is just for speed work. I knew it was too good to be true. He has been so damn brainwashed. Boling is not an elite 400 meter sprinter. He is close to an elite 200 guy with more consistancy. The only thing good about the 400's is it will help his 200 meters most likely. I will say it again. Boling is not made for the 400!

Matt Boling also won the 200 meters in 20.30. I can't find any video just the final results. There has to be some video somewhere.

We have the 2024 Australian Track & Field Championships. Any predictions for Rohan Browning or and of the other sprinters both male and female? I expect Rohan Browing to run around 10.10 to 10.15 in the final. Only because he is saving himself for the Olympics which is smart!

ok - wind predicted to be from the south-west at up 3 to 4 mps, temperature no higher than 20C, 100m track runs towards the south-east ..... grandstand may give shelter, not sure. So conditions don't appear that beneficial.
Will Browning win or will Azopardi or Despard give us an upset?
I'll wait for the heats from 3.30 pm Friday (Australian time) before hazarding a guestimate ;) for Saturday's semis and finals in similar conditions

I'm looking forward to tommorow's track action at the Tom Jones Memorial.

In the womens 100 meters we will see Abby Steiner against a stacked field of sprinters. Haven't seen her run the 100 in a long time!

In the mens 100 meters we will see both Austin Kresley and Kalen Walker of Iowa among others.

In the Olympic Development we will see Filippo Tortu over 100 meters. It's been a very long time for him to run this event.

Matthew Boling ran the 200 today and finished in 6th place with a super slow 20.52 +1.6 wind. This kid has had his ability just
crushed by training him for the 400 meters which he is not meant for. I hope this makes him very angry & embarassed. It's not
all his fault but he needs to go back the 100 & 200 meters sprints training & give up the 400 meter forever. Of course his people
that surround him will tell him the opposite. Quit listening Matthew Boling if you read this. Go back to the 100 & 200 meters. It's
where you belong. Change up your training. It's not too late but quit wasting time in the 400. It's not your event & never will be!

As noted elsewhere, 18 year old Sebastian Sultana won the Australian 100m Championships.
In the semi-finals, he set a PB of 10.17.

Another teenager of note, 15 year old Mason McGroder long jumped 7.73m (25ft - 4-3/8") to win the U20 Long Jump.

I hope Tortu shows us something today - he's fallen off the past years, but it this is an Olympic year. If he is to 'comeback' this is the year to do it.
But honestly, I am worried that his best days are behind him.

Correa is in decent shape - he ran 20.45 200m earlier this season. Hope he's below 10.20 in the 100m today.

Abby Steiner is coming off injury and surgery. We'll get to see how well she has recovered. Just a few seasons ago, she was the new golden girl in women's sprinting.

Meanwhile, Matthew Boling is scheduled to run again, in the 400m.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational there was a negative wind (-1.5 m/s) in the 100 meters. Puripol Boonson was 2nd in 10.41 with Sam Blaskowski in 5th at 10.51.

Matthew Boling just won his heat of the 400m in 45.23.
A fairly decent time.

Happy to see that but I just don't see another Jeremy Wariner in Matthew Boling. They are built different. Boling will never ever break
Wariners best times ever or challenge any of the worlds elite 400 meters sprinters. Boling is still getting bad advice. Look at the 200 yesterday and tell me anything different? I don't care that it's early as he is running high school times in the 200 meters. So sad.

Only in America do we see our best sprinters give up the 100 meters shortly after their college careers. Meanwhile you have guys like
Dominik Kopec and countlesss others still chasing their dreams at almost 30 years of age! I love to see that. Heck even Richard Kilty is
still running great in almost his mid 30's. Desire, Hunger and Drive to never give up your dream.

More american white sprinters should learn from this. At the very least move to Europe or Australia and keep chasing your dream. It's bad
enough how many of our top sprinters go into other sports. We need more to stay on the path. They can make money in a career in their 30's and the rest of their lives.
