Stroud isn't a runner so if he can't read defenses well or consistently throw accurately then he'll eventually be a backup.
There's a huge difference between the o-lines of these two teams. Derrick Henry often gets gaping holes to run through, something that happened rarely when the mostly sumo Tennessee o-line blocked for him, while Joe Mixon is running straight into walls at the line of scrimmage thanks to Houston's non-existent run blocking. Yet the NFL will keep drafting an endless carousel of black tackles and guards, same as they do with safeties and cornerbacks and defensive tackles and, well, every other position.

Agreed blame sumo OL for some of Stroud’s regression.
I can see Houston having peaked last year and the first part of this season and now beginning their inevitable decline to their normal mediocre and worse status. It happens that way with a lot of super-black franchises like Jax, Arizona, Cleveland, Miami, NYG, etc. -- an occasional good season or two followed by a return to being a bottom feeder.
Baltimore on the other hand looks like a team that can beat the Chiefs in the playoffs this year.

Texans crapped the bed. The decision to go for it on 4th and goal down 10-2…instead of 10-5, they were down 17-2 a minute later. Game over.
Lamar had a great game. Josh Allen better go big the last 2 games to preserve his MVP. Although the Bills don’t have much if anything to play for.

Mark Andrews with his 10th TD this season and 50th of his career. His is currently in 5th place, which is impressive after coming off of an injury and then being virtually ignored early in the season.

What the hell moment. Ravens stop Houston 4th and goal and as one player is high fiving on his return to the sidelines a coach? (he was wearing head phones) comes flying out of nowhere almost knocks the player down and damn near hits the ground on his head.

Same thing for TJ Watt as DPOY.....He’s been the odds on favorite to win it for weeks. Since he got dinged up a while ago, he’s done nothing to help his chances. Finish strong TJW!
Watt has been on the disappointing side this season compared to expectations. One of the criticisms which seems to have validity is that he lines up in the same spot every down instead of moving along the line to take advantage of potential mismatches, especially with so many over-rated linemen in the league, particularly tackles. He's too predictable, too set in his ways.
Something close to mass panic is taking over Steelers Nation after their annual collapse began the past three games. The defense has been bad, and Russell Wilson began playing poorly once the level of competition increased. Now everyone's concerned about the future of the quarterback position after Wilson and Fields turned out not to be messiahs once Kenny Pickett was run out of town. And the Mike Tomlin critics are back in full voice, and there are many compared to his saintly status elsewhere. One radio host asked callers to name one area where the team has improved since the early part of the season and no one could. They Steelers may yet regroup and have a playoff run, but recent history says it's more likely to be another one and done, keeping Tomlin's other streak going -- no playoff wins since 2016.

I would consider that a failure of Tomlin, not taking advantage of opportunities for TJ. The Rams did this consistently with Aaron Donald and it helped his stellar career.
Unless it is TJ saying he won’t make any changes but I can’t imagine that.
It's T. J. being set in his ways. A better way for him would be to do research on the "long arms" he's playing against each week and concentrate on the weaker one. I guess that's just quibbling though as he's on pace to be a first ballot Hall of Famer:

There's no one to root for on either team. Cole Kmet? Super thin gruel. I expect yet another poorly played game similar to yesterday's and so many others this season. Seems all the best games have mainly involved two top White QBs going at it. . .
Chicago's generational talent has led his team to just over 100 total yards in the first half. He has 7 completions, 3 to the RB behind the line of scrimmage, 3 to D. J. Moore behind the line of scrimmage, and a short completion to Keenan Allen while scrambling that ended up going for a whopping 16 yards.

It's the third game of the week with black quarterbacks numbers 5 and 6. I'm going to act like a white quarterback and pass on these games. I might act like a black quarterback and run away from these games.
Third and 24 and Williams, after taking his 66th or so sack of the season, throws a one yard pass that remarkably fails to convert the first down. As I've always said I don't judge rookie QBs too harshly, but watching Williams feels like watching Desmond Ridder trying to play. Can't read defenses, holds the ball way too long, seems not to know what routes his receivers are running, rarely throws a pass more than 3 yards downfield. But Herbie and Al are doing their best to try to praise him. Herbstreit called the broken play I mentioned above that ended up going to Keenan Allen for 16 yards as proof of Williams' "big play ability." 16 yards! Talk about having to reach deep to find anything positive to say. The Bears poor sumo o-line can only take so much of the blame. And what about all the "weapons" Williams was given to throw to? Three yard passes won't get it done.

lol! Sack number 6 for Williams was laugh-out-loud funny. 12/20 for 92 yards, 6 sacks for -41 yards. Of course sacks don't count towards his rushing yardage where he has 21 yards. Don is right about the sumo o-line. They're bad but they aren't that bad. Fingernails Caleb is awful.
Once again, moron level clock management by the Bears on the past few plays. Bring back Eberflus!
And Cole Kmet makes the tackle after Williams throws a pick on fourth down to mercifully end three hours of torture. It's the first time in this dreadful game a White player either made a tackle or touched the ball. Before that all passes, runs, receptions and tackles were by the World's Greatest Athletes.
