with the majority of whites in severe poverty. It's a very sad situation and a dangerous place to live in so many parts of
south africa.
Hi everyone.
Hope you are all well.
South Africa is really bad at the moment. The ANC regime that took over in 1994 has managed to destroy every single government institution in existence. We have always had a semi socialist state with most of the infrastructure companies controlled by the government.
This will include the railways, harbors under the dept of Transport, ESCOM the sole electricity provider in the country, ISCOR the biggest steel manufacturer, DENEL our military technology company, the South African defense, the Police and on and on.....
No private companies are allowed to run a railway company although cargo trains is non existent, no private company may produce power to insert into the power grid and this causes 10 hours of rolling blackouts per day everyday.
Infrastructure maintenance is non existent so everything is going to ****. Corruption is rife.
Sorry, I can keep on complaining but we still have one of the most beautiful countries in the word.
Back to athletics.
Emile tore a tendon in his left foot and he will be operated on next Tuesday to mend the tendon. It is one of the smaller tendons and the prognosis is good for a 100% recovery although there is still a risk. The doctor that looks after him tried to fix this without an invasive procedure but it did not fix the problem. Fortunately we have excellent doctors in the country.
He cannot run for the next 6 months and has decided not to run this year and instead concentrate on recovery.
His support team has a training program for him to prepare for the Olympics next year.
