2021 Track Season Results

10.09 in coldish conditions with no wind. He's really become consistent and mature as a sprinter.

10.09 in these conditions must be a sub 10 with several runs in ideal conditions and a bit of wind assistance.
Hale did his best but lost his mojo in the last 6 weeks or so - some guidance and clear thinking needed for him now.

Woohoo! Both Rohan Browning and Hana Basic win the Mens and Womens 100 Meters Finals and are both national champions! Congrats to these exceptional young sprinters! )

They both were so dominating and they never left a doubt as to who was the best sprinter on the track.

To see Rohan Browning run a 10.09 with just about no wind in the cold after multiple races proves he belongs with the big boys. When all is said and done I honestly believe he will be better than
Patrick Johnson, Joshua Ross and Matthew Shirvington. Yes it's still early to say that but he just has that swagger and maturity to go along with an amazing work ethicc. So with his athletic genes
and his smarts the sky is the limit. I really hope he can go sub 10 this summer and either make the semi finals or the finals at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He is so fun to watch. I felt bad for Jack
Hale being stuck in lane 10 but he still ran a descent race. I knew his fatigue would hurt him after what happened in the semi finals. I truely feel bad for the kid as it's been a bad year. I had a feeling
that he would shock us today but my feeling was wrong. I hope he can still do good in the 200 meters if he has the energy. It's alot of races and Hale is not used to it in a short time period.

yes W/L, they were equally dominant and are fresh, keen and young.
I like the girl who came second too, Bree Masters. Only her 3rd year in track and ran a PB 11.47 tonight in these very average conditions. She's a big, strong girl so I'm sure she'll be competing also in northern Queensland (her home state) to boost those times in the warm weather to help for relay selection.

It's all about the 3 B's tonight. I've been up all night long. I'm having a few beers and drinking in cheers to the Two Killer B's, Browning and Basic. Just imagine if they got married. Lol. I'm so happy
for both of them. Glad I stayed up to watch it live. Nothing like the excitement of a live race whether in person or on tv!

Yes I too though Bree Masters was fantastic. She is very tall and muscular. She has a good future ahead of her. Hope she continues to improve. I also hope Jack "The Hail Storm" Hale can bounce back. I would
hate to see him not acheive his potential. His top end speed is still amazing. He just needs to work on his starts and drive phase alot more. He has regressed in those areas especially. Don't give up Jack. You have
the talent and you will have better days in the future!

Rohan Browning 10.09 blitzed the field!

I'm looking forward to see what he can do in Tokyo! There's a great documentary that was made about Josh Ross and he talks about how he trained to always peak at the Nationals. He wouldn't always win throughout the year but he wasn't concerned as he knew he had a plan to peak at the right time. Hopefully Browning has a similar plan/training schedule and can show the results in Tokyo. Going back to Josh Ross he said he only started training when he saw the 2000 Olympics with Matt Shirvington and Cathy Freeman (he did athletics in the past but quit when he was 16). 4 years later he was racing in Athens. By having Browning run in the Olympics it may motivate a lot of other upcoming athletes to pursue sprinting if they have the talent.

imagine that skinny little 10 year old Joshua Ross jumping 4.80 in the LJ. His Stawell win off scratch really put his speed in perspective for me.
His European season at his peak led to severe homesickness and depression.
What could have been his career high point became his low point .... but hey, 10.08 is nothing to be sneezed at.
He's running at 40 now and can still run 10.60/10.70s with his best at 38 being 10.50 while competing irregularly. Would be an awesome masters' sprinter if he can focus

-Trey Cunningham with a terrific 13.28 (1.3w) in the men's hurdles.
-Abby Steiner withdrew from her 100m race after winning the 200m yesterday in 22.79.
-Matthew Boling 10.21 in the 100m after his 20.43 yesterday. Boling was 2nd in both the 100m and 200m races.
-Devin Quinn ran 10.24 in his first outdoor race this season, after a very good indoor season. He won his section of the finals.

Devin Quinn opens up his 2021 Outdoor Season today with a time of 10.23 +.0.8 wind. Nice solid opening time. Remember guys, he does not want to peak yet so he should get faster. I think Boling and
his coach know this so they are taking it easy for now and will amp it up when it really counts.

Af the same track meet that Quinn ran, almost 40 year old Justin Gatlin continues to win with yet another sub 10. Gatlin has been busted a few times for peds and there is no way that a middle aged man
can run that fast without alot of help. It's just the laws of father time. Nothing to see here guys.

Unfortunately, Zac and Jackson aren't getting much competition in their races. When they do, I expect that they will go faster.

I would say it's an embarrassment for WADA and their abilities to catch drug cheats. I expect him to fall apart the minute he retires similar to various doped up bodybuilders who off drugs look worse than the average pencil pushing desk jockey.

Hey jacknyc. I can't stand Gatlin and many others like him. I was glad that they caught Christian Coleman but the majority of time the cheaters get away with it. Coleman missed 3 drug tests in a year. No doubt he is hiding something. Once in a while they enforce the rules but not nearly enough!

It was great watching Rohan Browning win the mens 100 meters final last night at the 2021 Australian Track & Field Championships. In my opinion, Rohan Browning has
already reached the level of Filippo Tortu and very possibly is about to pass him as the best 100 meter short sprinter. Why do I say that? His consistancy. He also runs these times like clock work and Rohan doesn't need the
wind to assist him. The kid can run fast and he can run rounds in any conditions. I predict a sub 10 in this summer. I would be shocked if it doesn't happen. So what is your prediction for Rohan this summer jacknyc? I will also
ask the same prediction from mastermulti, aboveaverage, freedom1, jimmychitwood and sprintstar? Predictions for Rohan Browning?

I must say, Browning is looking very good. It seems to me that he can go sub 10 with the right circumstances - a warm day, some stiff competition, and a nice tailwind.
But he will have to peak again in 3 months, which is always tough for southern hemisphere athletes.

But Gaston Bouchereau took 1st in 10.29. Good job!

I have the same expectations as jacknyc. Some warm runs, great weather with nice little tailwind and some decent opposition and he's already at sub 10 level.
I've no doubts he can go high 9.9s now in such conditions.

Maybe he can crack Patrick's record of 9.93 too. Just not this year - he's only 22 and still learning and maturing physically
