2021 Track Season Results

correction. he is a “wide receiver” on the football team, having played zero snaps at wideout in his football “career” thus far. unfortunately, his only in-game action has been on limited special team’s appearances. i’ve done some digging with some OU super fans, and they tell me he can’t catch and his change of direction ability is poor. this would explain why an elite sprinter doesn’t get much action, but (with the track record *pun* of the OU football coach and White skill position players) there could also may be more to the story from a Caste perspective.

There is always more to the story with fast white athletes of almost any sport in this Upside Down Clown World we live in! I'm sure he can catch and run good routes. The kid is a very good long jumper and still does that. He is an all around athlete that like most speedy white athletes is not allowed to succeed in certain sports. That's what I love about track. The timing guns don't lie. All you need is a chance. Even then most white males & females that could be very good sprinters are
pushed into the longer distance runs and field events as they don't pass the eye test.

I really wish Jackson Webb wasn't a senior. He is capable of so much more. As we know he ran a windy 10.03 which is the 2nd fastest time in Oklahoma Track History. His wind legal 10.22 is amazing. Hope he goes pro after he graduates.

Sorry for all the posts but I have alot of free time today and you guys know I love track! One guy from Australia who I want to watch in the near future is 20 year old Jake Doran. He already has a p.b. of 10.15 from a few years ago. Jake Doran
doesn't even turn 21 until this July so he is still too young to drink! He has alot of talent and I'm hoping he can stay focused for the future with Browning and Hale to look up to and learn from. Here are his year by year stats.

I think Doran is capable of 10.15ish times but nothing faster. Like MM said his top speed is not fast enough to be a serious contender on a world stage. Now having said that I would have given my eye teeth to have been able to run a 10.15 100m.

hadn't heard of her till quite recently. I know of her 11.49 set in January this year at 17 and 3 months. In spite of the promise shown there are no certainties in track as so many youngsters leave the sport for one reason of another. I'll be watching her live on Saturday though since our aged 14,16,20 and Open Australian championships are on all week here in Sydney.

If anyone's interested (and if you can get it in your region) then there's a video livestream of 6 hours or so of everday's action.

quick note: watching the Aussie T&F champs and was delighted to see no one wearing the stupid, non needed masks!!

our mask wearing has been lately relaxed since we have few cases of Covid and a national database that quickly informs anyone who's been in contact with an infected person.
Any minor outbreaks though and it'll be masks and distancing again "tout de suite".

On the whole Australians, despite our convict history, are quite law abiding and do what's necessary if it's perceived as for everyone's benefit.
Deaths here from the virus have been 910 in total over the 12/13 months and that's where we'd like it to stay - and they were virtually all when it got a hold in aged care homes - hence the average age of Australia's CoVid deaths is around 85 years

Not much wind to speak of but I was hoping to see faster times from the mens and womens under 20 100 meters finals. What are you thought mastermulti?

10.60s and 11.60s are nothing flash, I agree.
One thing to mention though is that the winners have already qualified for world juniors in August by time and only needed to win for guaranteed selection.
With 4 months to go before peaking they are treading a tight rope to be exactly where they need to be.

Winners, Taylah Cruttenden (women) and Caleb Law (men) have achieved 11.49 and 10.53 earlier in the year. I guess the nervous system needs some rest to re-peak in August.
Happens to southern hemisphere athletes all the time. Even any world comps held here are tailored to northern hemisphere seasons.
And while both Taylah (17) and Caleb (19) are decent athletes they aren't standouts (as yet at least)

There's a South Australian athlete called Harrison Hunt that also ran a PB of 10.51 in Jamsa, Finland in July 2018. He was 19 at the time and this season his best time has been 10.66. Maybe there were great conditions over in Finland at the time if Doran also ran in the same race.

Jackson Webb has proven he can runs in the 10.20s Range several times this year. Hoping he gives us a sub 10.20 and sub 10.15 if
the conditions are right. What a great year he is having!

his improvement over last year is incredible! i am curious what significant changes he has made to make such a radical difference in his performance, because obviously i’m excited to have another young sprinter for us to cheer for.

Live on youtube is Day 6 of the 2021 Australian Track and Field Championships. In about 3 to 4 hours we will have the mens & womens semi finals of the 100 meters!

at least its not windy or raining here now but its dark and temperatures will be around 12C (54F) or a bit lower (low 50Fs) for the semis and final of the 100s tonight


In these cool conditions Hana's 11.29 was very good and in semi 3 Bree masters PB 11.47 was also.
Bree is 25 and this is only her 3rd year in Track - she's a beach sprinter primarily but now is shaping up as a relay representative. Could well be under 11.30 by Tokyo at her pace of improvement

rather seen her cost to a 11.50 and go all out in the final to try for the automatic qualifier for Tokyo. Oh well. Wish the weather was warmer. Gonna watch the rest of the semi finals and then get to sleep. Will have
to see what happened when I wake up. Unless I decide to pull an all nighter.

Rohan Browning wins his semi finals in a very easy 10.18! Jack Hale has had problems with his starting blocks. Regardless he came back from almost last in his heat to make the finals as well. Not looking good for Hale
though as he had to work so hard just to come back. He was in about 6th place and ran almost everyone down to finish 2nd. We will see if he has anything left for the finals. Jack Hale is also entered in the 200 meters which
suprised me. I like him trying something different. Hale will need a perfect start to have any chance in the final but does he have the energy? Doubtful but I hope he can push Browning & Niketa a litte bit.

Despite the cooler temps I'm hoping Browning can win again and go sub 10.10 to continue his amazing season so far! I just can't go to sleep. Gonna be a long night but I'm staying up.

I know what you mean - but I really think she is the toughest sprinter we've had in a while - I think she'll back up well in the final.
Great story about her in the newspaper today. Her family escaped from Bosnia and brought her here to Australia - as a kid she did gymnastics since that was what girls in Bosnia loved to excel in. Went to track and took them by storm

hoping for the best and rooting for her! Yes mastermulti I agree that Basic is as tough as they come. She is a fighter and is just what Aussie Female Sprinters need to look up to.

Hana will now get to run races in warm northern Queensland to gain selection with a 11.15. Pressure to some extent is off because warm conditions with a decent tailwind and she's there
