Defense actually played pretty good. Offense was far too conservative. AJ Dillon was hurt covering a kickoff(rare, sounds like something that would happen to a pale face.)

The not so very bright move by Jones at the end of the 2nd Q was one of the game-changers tonight.
The problems with special teams were sadly blatantly exposed tonight as well.
Sticking with Drayton is just virtue signaling and a decision based on political correctness and nothing else.

Could Rodgers have played better. Maybe.
Can’t blame him though. If you can’t trust all the parts of a team it’s hard to play a do-or-die game.

I saw both games and wasn't shocked by the first game as Burrow even while being sacked multiple times always is poised and has a Joe Cool look to him. The Bungles are now the Bengals again unless they have a weird blow up next week and should be contenders for years to come.

The Green Bay offense looked like a European sports car that had half their horse power after the second drive turnover and could never quite get back on track after that and allowed the 49ers to hang around and steal this game late.

It's almost like Rodgers has a curse hanging over his head the way his teams have lost while hosting teams over the years.

In any big city market Lafleur could be on the hot seat after 3 home playoff losses in a row as the clear cut favorite each time.

Rodgers is being made the scapegoat for Green Bay's loss by the usual suspects solely because of his opinion on the Covid-1984 vaccine. Most of them aren't even trying to hide it.

The fact of the matter is that special teams lost the game for the Packers. First with the blocked field goal just before halftime, then with the disastrous blocked punt that led to a 49ers touchdown.

It was noted on the SF's game winning kick the Packers probably only had 10 on the field, so they cannot even get that right. Not that a black coach or a white coach makes a difference since GB hasn't had a game breaking special teams since Howard's one year wonder back in the dinosaur days of the 90s. Then having Dillon on coverage is just plain stupid, my advice find a white upsider RB or LB that is a baller (Think Korey Hall undersized LB converted to FB but still a tackling machine) and make him a WSTD and third RB.

And I'll assume if a team can rush 4 you are gonna have to find a man who can beat a LB on the short over the middle plays. Last night was just sad, go back to 2011 when the Giants upset the Packers at least Rodgers used his legs to beat the 4 man rush this time was just as I called it.

Weenieworld suprisingly gives a fair summation of Tannehill's season and how he had to play big chunks of it without his three best weapons:

Ryan Tannehill completed 15-of-24 passes for 220 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in the Titans’ 19-16 Divisional Round loss to the Bengals. Tannehill got an unfair shake in his third year as Tennessee’s starter (and first without play-calling savant Arthur Smith), logging only 10.9% of his dropbacks with all of Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, and Julio Jones together throughout the regular season. The 33-year-old averaged 9.4 yards per attempt on those plays, whereas his production plummeted to 5.2 YPA during the 24.6% of his dropbacks he made without all three. Tannehill’s 3.2 rush attempts per game were still encouragingly 0.5 more than he averaged in 2020, which should only help him produce more than the 15.8 fantasy points he averaged across 17 starts as the overall QB16 if all return healthy around him. He should be regarded as a tremendous bounce-back candidate with rushing upside in offseason drafts.

The Packers were pretty evenly split between pass/run. Jones and Dillon were not very impactful runners last night in a game where running the football should have been more effective. I place none of the blame on Rodgers. If the Packers are eager for a rebuild they will enjoy a futile era much like the pre-Favre days. LaFluer has to know the reason for his early success as a head coach is due to having Rodgers under center. My guess is Rodgers/Adams will both need to stay or neither will stay. No other WR they have drafted has reliably stepped in to serve as a complimentary target. Tonyan would have made an impact in this game as well.

Happy to see Jimmy G continue his advance into the playoffs with Bosa, Kittle and Juczyck. At the very least Jimmy G should be getting some decent 3-4 year offers to be some teams starting QB.
