That would be nice but I don't see it happening. I think the Fins will end up taking Tua. I'm not as down on Tua as some other posters on this site. He's not black (I know Poly's are kind of viewed the same way blacks are on this forum) but I do like the fact that he seems like a decent person who comes from a strong family unit and a Christian background. I saw his interview on the 700 Club and came away impressed with him. The only thing I don't like about him is that due to his non-white status, he's being hyped up the same way most black quarterbacks are. He's compared to guys like Russell Wilson and is seen as part of the "new breed" of QB's. I wouldn't be totally against drafting Tua, although I'd prefer Burrow or Herbert.

As for the OL. That scares me a little. This draft is littered with sumos. I hope they resist the temptation to draft OL early because quality white OL can usually be found in the later rounds.
The guy is just another RGIII - done before he starts. The thing that got me about RGIII is they knew all the time he had bum wheels and hyped the guy anyway. Tua is in the same boat, injury prone - done before he starts.

The injury issue is definitely a concern with him. Having watched both QB's, I can honestly say with objectivity that Tua is light years better than RG3 when it comes to throwing the football. Tua throws a nice accurate ball (he is throwing to NFL caliber receivers so keep that in mind) RG3 was scattershot and innacurate. He was much like Lamar Jackson in which every single thing around him has to be perfect in order for him to succeed. Since Burrow probably won't be there when the Fins draft, I'm hoping Justin Herbert is their guy. The DWF's are already piling on him for "not being a leader" "having an aloof personality" and whatever caste phrases you can think of in order to disparage white QB's. On the other hand black quarterback Jordan Love is drawing rave reviews from these same DWF's for his "leadership abilities" "upside" and "arm strength" Never mind the fact that he's a sucky college QB. How many QB's that sucked in college went on to have decent NFL careers?

I’ve actually given up trying to predict how black quarterbacks will transition from college to the pros. I know that virtually everyone here at CF (including myself), predicted that Newton, Wilson, Watson, Winston, Mahomes, and Jackson would all fail and be out of the league in a few years. Instead, they’ve all turned into pro-bowlers and MVPs putting up all sorts of video game numbers along the way.

Sure, RGIII turned into a bust, and a few other less high-profile QBs like Geno Smiff, Deshone Kizer and Brett Hundley are exactly who we thought they were. And yes, the black quarterbacks seem to age in dog years and the ones who have some success are done by the time they’re 30. Wilson and Mahomes may end up being an exception to that rule.

But would anyone really be surprised anymore if Hurst or Love end up doing well in NFL, even if it ends being for a limited time? That will be enough to keep the black quarterback train going. The NFL teams will just treat them like RBs, get a new one every 5 years or so.

It's an interesting theory and one that may ultimately prove to be true. My problem with it is that it just lessens the importance of the QB position - the rule changes have made play calling and offensive schemes that would not have worked 10 years ago a viable in modern football. More and more coaches may very well decide to adapt to simplistic play calling and implementing less complicated offenses and jump on board. Remember when QBs were expected to sit for 2 years to learn the intricacies of complicated offenses? What has changed?

I do agree that Wilson and Mahomes may the ones with any sort of longevity. Newton has not been anything more than average since 2015 (he was drafted in 2011 so 4 seasons of mediocrity/injury), the jury is still out on Watson - he holds onto the ball and gets sacked way too often and plays in a weak division, Winston is a turnover machine and so far Jackson is a one year wonder.

As for Jordan Love - he became a beneficiary of the online draft community hype system after one good season and one very mediocre season - this year he gets arrested a few days after declaring for pot possession. Just more blind love for a melanin enhanced quarterback.

I am glad to see Eason declare - he must of received a favorable draft projection - my guess is he will be a day 2 pick. Only issue is teams don't develop QBs - if you are a non-white QB you just get the benefit of having your college offense implemented. If you are a white QB you have to learn a new offense and teams do not seem to have the patience or ability to develop QBs these days. I wouldn't mind to see him drafted by the Falcons where he can sit behind Matt Ryan and learn the game from a vet QB still at the top of his game.

SMH so despite all those impressive workout numbers Whitey still can't see the field. Not like Syracuse is just crawling with talent, a shame he was never used!

A Top50Athletic Freak in CFB and he's regulated to WSTD duties..

Tagovailoa has declared - darkens up the QB class a little more. By all accounts he seems like a good guy and it is more of the media hype around him. The media and draft cucks are all treating him as an infallible/fool proof prospect. I believe if he were not a non-white QB there would be alot more concern about his stats - playing with a very good supporting cast, alot of production coming from wide open WRs and YAC as well as medical concerns. He would be viewed as more a product of his surroundings much like AJ McCarron was. The draft community and MSM NFL machine refuse to label non-white QBs as game managers. Mac Jones filled in well after Tagovailoa went down with an injury - my bet is Saban puts him on the bench next year for his next black quarterback hype job. Right now it sounds like Miami is targeting him so the perception here in January is Burrow will be the 1st overall QB selected. I would rather see Tagovailoa in Cincinatti and Burrow end up in Miami.

I think Tua will ultimately end up being the guy down here in Miami. The owner has been pushing for him for a while now. I have mixed feelings about him honestly. I like the person and the player. He's not a guy like Jordan Love who sucks in college but has endless "upside" (that drives me absolutely insane) However, even though he's not black, he's being pushed by the caste system really hard. I think he'll be a good pro, but I don't like the fact that he's being pushed in order to usher in these "new breed" of quarterbacks.

Another reason I have mixed feelings on him is because it seems like Coach Flores has been pretty fair in giving white players a shot (so far) I'd hate to see him do an about face and go caste (even though I do think Tua is the real deal)

Consider this. Tua makes a Hollywood production out of his announcement about his future path. Picks a time and a place as the puppy dog media follows his every breath. January 6th ( today) around noon the man will speak!!!!!!

I see this in two distinct ways. There is no reason on the face of the earth to announce a press conference if your decision is to turn pro. You turn in your paper work and move ahead. The only reason to suck up the media focus to set a time and place and announce your plans is if you decided you are returning to Alabama.

A complete nothing burger. He tantalized the fanatical Alabama fan base with this press conference for what reason?

The narcissism is worrying but not surprising.

The media is convinced he is the next Drew Brees. Along with the injury concerns I am also concerned about the Alabama QB factory.

Time will tell but being conservative when it comes to draft picks I would be leery. Too many red flags. Time will tell.

Yep. Shades of LeBrown James and his ridiculous "The Decision" special. Tua is acting like a typical black athlete with that kind of behavior.

The AJ McCarron comparison is a really good one, and therefore one that the mainstream sports media will ignore. They don't want to take his strong supporting cast(e) into account because Tua is not white.

If I were a GM, I might draft Tua in the 5th round if I was looking for a backup QB. There's no way I'd bet the future of a franchise on him.

In the Media/Caste world, Tua is as good as black. Look at the kid gloves treatment that Marcus Mariota got, and he's much more "poly" than Tagovailoa. Heck, Tua is darker than many blacks, makes the hated Patrick Mahomes look like a cracker.

Haha funny and true post.

I think Tua has talent but there should be obvious skepticism of his injury history. DWFs beloved Bo Jackson's career was ruined because of a similar injury. All the "experts" seem to think he'll recover with no problem and still be the player he was, if not better. I'd pump the brakes on that one.

I also agree it should be noted that he might have 3of his WRs also be Drafted in 1st rd.

I can't blame Fromm for declaring - I believe they will lose 7 starters from this year. Fromm is alot better than people think - the UGA receiving corps was not very good and they played in a run heavy offense. Fromm has been labeled a "game manager" but I feel the offensive system is what hampered him. He I still remember his fantastic performance against Alabama - he was in total control - reminiscent of Drew Brees operating an offense. I am thinking he is in the 2nd/3rd conversation right now.

As it stands right now these are the best QB prospects:
1. Joe Burrow
2. Justin Herbert
3. Jacob Eason
4. Jake Fromm
5. Shea Patterson
6. Anthony Gordon
7. Nate Stanley
8. Jake Luton
9. James Morgan
10. Brian Lewerke

Also I just witnessed a perfect example of double speak - some self anointed draft guru Ryan Wilson said this about Jordan Love - the totally hyped up QB: "He has all the talent in the world, he had some of the worst tape in 2019 with Utah St". Statements like that just baffle me.

Adam Trautman senior highlights 6'6 253
As mentioned in another thread, Dayton is very White friendly. Adam is good and has good size but I'm not even sure he's the best senior on the team.

Ryan Skibinski is 5'11 180 pound WR, runs a 4.41, has gotten open on a few guys that are now in the NFL. Averaged 17 yards per catch and scored 10 TDs this year. While he'll be written off as "too small" he's in between the size of two other successful wideouts DeSean Jackson 5'10 175 and Kevin Curtis 6'0 186. Since he doesn't play a position appropriate for his race I'm not sure he'll get a fair shot but I'll do his video soon.

Here is Chris Finke of Notre Dame highlights. For some reason I wasn't expecting to be impressed but I think he should be rated higher. When I was looking at draft projections for wideouts there's a lot of guys going high that don't have big time production. From watching footage there was some inconsistent qb play, plus they use him on a ton of routes that are less than 5 yards, which is fine but if the defense sniffs it out the qb has no business throwing it, but he still managed to get positive yardage on most of those. Plus most of his targets came on 3rd and 4th down and he usually converted.

He's projected to have 4.4 speed and appears super quick and always fights for extra yardage. I think if used correctly in the NFL he will be a consistent 1,000 yard receiver, at worse I think he would put up 600 to 700 yards a year, which is more than most guys who are drafted in the first 4 rounds. Plus he has return skills which is a huge plus.

Ryan Skibinski of Dayton. I wonder if he'll be on any teams radar. 5'11 180 runs a 4.4. very quick as well. Averaged 17.1 ypc. 900 yards from scrimmage in 11 games. I think his yards would be higher but Dayton is loaded with good players. They had the number 1 scoring offense in the FCS. Top 10 in a bunch of categories.

Thanks for posting that dwid...I posted Ryan Skibinski Stats a few times on Weekly Recaps(7 -116 vs. San Diego; 8-144-3 vs Butler) ...You never know who the NFL will acknowledge OR ignore??
Julian Edelman is his Favorite WR
https://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/2019/07/ryan-skibinski/

......Like you said Dayton had a high octane offense. RB Jake Chisholm (Soph.) 5'-9" 182 ...really came on strong last half of season (268 yards rushing vs Morehead St/ 166 yards vs. Butler etc.) 1, 129 yards for the season.

Hopefully he gets some recognition. With scouts checking out Adam Trautman he might have a chance to get picked up as an UDFA. I saw the interview and since Edelman is well known I put him in the title. He reminds kind of Eric Peterman though but with better hands. Nobody would know who that is but I think if he were given a fair shot he could have succeeded. He was also a 4.4 guy with great agility, good at getting yac.

Yea I thought about doing a video on Chisholm he looked impressive. He is #29 but I could have sworn there was a few games where he was #28. I looked up their roster and the only 28 is a CB so maybe I just can't see.

They have a few good backs and receivers, #15 Richie Warfield is a good power runner at 220 pounds. They didn't use him that much in 2019 but in 2018 he had 10 TDs on limited carries. He's got 4.5 speed and I think if he were on a different team he could light it up but I think Chisholm is faster and quicker so they went with him.

#80 Kyle Butz looked explosive on a few plays and returns. Butz is a senior but at 5'9 175 I don't think he'll have a shot with his stats.
