Pete's plantation hilariously losing to the Cardinals should help the 49ers out too as long as they take care of business next week - some dungbeetle on dungbeetle crime.
Tough times on the Plantation, as
Pete's crew lost their #1 (
Carson) and #3 tailbacks (Prosise) for the season. They lost #2 (
Penny) against the Rams last week. They will also be without their left tackle going forward. One has to wonder if
Zach Zenner's will become a modern day Dave Kingman (baseball) and play for 4 teams in one season? Now I'm talking silly, Slave Massa Pete using a white tailback?
Actually, there's probably a better chance ZZ could
return to Miami to warm the bench for one more Sunday, as Miami lost
Myles Gaskins to what appeared to be a very serious knee injury. Dolphins (mistakenly) thought they had the game won near the end of the 4th quarter and were just running out the clock near the goal line. All 11 Bengals knew Gaskins was going to run and they swarmed him, leading to a knee injury.....Looks like Patrick
the Intern will get another start next week, as it appeared Gaskins had supplanted him by the 4th quarter yesterday. Gaskins injury was very reminiscent (to me) of a promising young, white tailback the Jets had in the 1990's named
Pat Chaffey. During a blowout of the Patriots, he got some carries at the end the first half, mostly to just run the clock down. All 11 Pat's keyed on him and he suffered a career ending injury. I remember Jets quarterback Boomer Essiason saying he was
distraught after that cheap shot hit, claiming he should've went into the "
victory formation" to drain the clock.
ZZ should've listened to his best friend Adam Theilen and joined the Vikings!!! Anyhow, with Carson (Seattle) and
Dalvin Cook down in Minnesota,
CMac should be the first
white NFC rushing champ in 44 years. St. Louis Cardinals "fullback"
Jim Otis led the NFC in rushing in 1975, but finished 4th overall in the NFL. Last white running back to lead the AFC in rushing yards was
Mark Van Eeeghen of the Oakland Raiders back in 1977. He's 93 yards behind Nick Chubb for #1 in the NFL, but no way he gets it. Cleveland will let him run 60 times next week to make sure he gets the title over CMac....So settling for the NFC title and a 1,000 rush/1,000 rec season is good enough?
