The ultimate ecstasy takes place when a championship is involved like Simona Halep winning Wimbledon or the Pats winning the Super Bowl. But I have had some close to ecstasy moments in college football like Yale coming back and beating Harvard.
Now that game has company. When I saw FS Nolan Turner clinch the game last night with a great interception I had one of those rare rushes. See below him celebrating with his fellow Stud Brother Tanner Muse#19. It was fitting Muse was the closest player to him and told him to drop down in the end zone.
Clemson head coach Swinney is a very religious man and was an underdog wide receiver at Alabama who barely played which probably gives him empathy for underdogs.
I have mentioned this before but Nolan's dad Kevin was Dabo's best friend at Alabama and they remained life long best buddies. Unlike Dabo, Kevin was a star at Alabama where in his senior year he averaged close to 6 yards a carry and in 1988 he caught 48 passes as a hybrid back.
He went on to have a very solid NFL career with 236 career receptions from the fullback spot and averaged 4 yards per carry in his career with the Pats and the Eagles. Kevin came down with ALS and passed away but Dabo saw to it to offer a scholarship to Nolan, yet another swift white talent being ignored by the big boys. Now a junior Nolan looks like a future NFL player and made the biggest play so far this season for Clemson.
Sounds like a movie script.
