The Panthers are almost an anti-Caste team in that they have a white running back, two white wide receivers, and a white defensive back, while their starting quarterback is black and their offensive line is heavily sumo.

Christian McCaffrey is of course the main reason to watch this team. If all goes well he should have an amazing year running over the Caste system. Luke Kuechly and Greg Olsen should provide additional superstar power at their respective positions. It remains to be seen how much and how well the Panthers will utilize Chris Hogan, especially with sCam throwing to him. Linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk was considered a long shot to make the roster, but he beat the odds. Unfortunately, he and Colin Jones likely won't get much playing time, being buried on the depth chart.

They also released Torry Smith, which means Zylstra and Hogan will be competing for snaps behind DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel. Samuel has missed 10 games over the past 2 seasons.

I think it's safe to say if the new QB has another good game, it'll be hard for Newton to get his job back. But then again, if Newton's proclaimed to be healthy and doesn't start, the blacks on the team might sabotage the new QB. There's always that possibility.

Newton can be a bit of a dope, but I thought he was a legit 1st rounder and his coaching staff had enough sense to get Greg Olson, but the experts here are right, he is on the backslope. If it weren't for Cmac being there I would hope he would auger in the Panthers and their locker room like a Stuka with stuck controls. FTR I can be a bit of a jerk, if you actively or passively support something that keeps me from having nice things I will work like a beaver to make sure you have no chance at nice things.

It's too early to say definitely but there's a chance that Carolina may have found their quarterback of the future - Kyle Allen. Allen always did have talent but didn't maximize it in college, for whatever reasons. He may end up being a better pro than college player.

I hope it works out for Allen, but the system is still stacked against him.

If it does and sCam gets bounced out, he won't settle for being a second-stringer on any team, so I hope he displaces another black quarterback.

If it does work out for Allen as he is a far superior QB than Newton, who would want an injury prone prima dona with limited skillsets at QB? There are so many more white QBs that are far better than Newton to choose from.

I kind of want to see what he can do but also don't want to see Allen written off so prematurely. He showed flashes of being good in his first year. A bit inconsistent but that is to be expected for a first year starter. I hope throwing Grier out there doesn't jeopardize Christian's chances of breaking records. He needs to average 195 from scrimmage the next 2 in order to break Chris Johnson's record. That's very doable

I still think Kyle Allen has NFL level ability - Olsen has been out for a few games which has not helped. I am looking forward to seeing Grier though - I enjoyed watching him in college.

I suppose nothing that DWF's do surprises me. Also not sure how widespread this is, or if this is just the MSM putting their spin on it. Story is that Panthers fans are lobbying for the return of sCam Newton for next season........

Panthers fans pay for 'Keep Cam in Carolina' billboards


Carolina Panthers fans have a message for team owner David Tepper: we want Cam Newton to stay.

On Monday, electronic billboards near Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte began telling him just that.

Via Fox Sports 1340, fan Jesse Hardy III launched a Go Fund Me campaign earlier this month. “Keep Cam in Carolina” had a goal of $8,000 to purchase billboard space along the highways near the Panthers’ stadium and team facility.

If the goal amount wasn’t met, all money would have been donated to Newton’s foundation.

But Panthers fans and the community at large stepped up and the billboards went live on Monday. Monetary donations came in, including from a local Chevrolet dealership; Grace Outdoor Advertising provided a free week of coverage for the fundraiser, and a second company, Adams Outdoor Advertising, reduced its weekly price from $950 to $800.

Designed by local advertising group BooneOakley, the rotating signs say “Keep Cam 1n Carolina”, a nod to Newton’s jersey number and unique font choices on social media, and “Cam-Olina”.

Newton underwent surgery on December 12 to repair a Lisfranc injury in his left foot. His current contract ends after the 2020 season, but there have been rumors and speculation that this could be his last year with the Panthers since the team has younger quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Will Grier.

Allen had 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 12 starts while Grier had three interceptions Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in his first career start.

‘They got to get rid of me’
Despite his injury and recovery from surgery, Newton has once again held numerous events to give back to the city he’s called home for nearly a decade, holding his annual Thanksgiving Jam for hundreds of families and last week visiting schools and shelters, donating thousands of dollars and sharing his spirit.

“Santa Cam’s Surprise Sleigh” delivered over $130,000 in monetary donations and gifts to schools, an after-school program, food bank and men’s shelter.

As he served men at the shelter, chatting briefly with them, one said, “I’m just saying — they don’t appreciate you” while another was surprised to see Newton there, believing that it wasn’t true that the 2015 NFL MVP would be there that day.

He told Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports that just as the men at the shelter (and now, fans who donated to the billboards) want him to stay, he doesn’t want to leave.

“That's the plan. That's where I want to be. …You can't get rid of me that easily,” Newton said.

Later, he was stronger.

“Listen let me tell you something,” Newton said. “In order for me to leave, they got to get rid of me.”

Let Newton stay and keep getting progressively worse while the team keeps losing. Eventually even the worshiping DWFs will realize his ship has sailed as far as being an effective quarterback. As long as C-Mac continues to thrive that is.
