I figured since a lot of our more astute football posters don't post as much anymore, I'd just make a single qualifying thread for everything, and not break it down into Europe, South America, etc. The World Cup is coming up pretty soon, and all confederations are deep into qualifying now. It'll be one of the last enjoyable World Cups for me, giving that 2022 is in Qatar, and after that, it goes to 48 teams. Post all of your World Cup qualifying news here. I plan on giving periodic updates when I've got time. I'll be adding to this post as well.
A few observations: What's happening to the Netherlands? I see they're lagging way behind in Group A qualifying. They're even behind Bulgaria, who beat them 2-0 yesterday. They're even a LOT more white-friendly than their disastrous Euro qualifying campaign. The Dutch, were actually, well, Dutch!! They started 8 whites, and finished with 10! Hopefully, they can get it turned around.
Next, I saw that Germany actually started 10 whites during their qualifier against Azerbaijan, which somehow qualifies as being in Europe. It was nice to see a nearly all-German team, possibly for one of the last times. The Germans are of course 1st in Group C, with the Czech Republic behind them. The Czech again have their token black in RB Selassie. I keep waiting for him to get dropped, yet he's still there. Oh well, given some of the other options, the Czechs are one of the best options to support.
Liberal hellhole Sweden wasn't as bad as I thought they'd be, only starting 1 Syrian, and bringing on a black in their last match. As far as I can tell, those two are the only non-whites on the Swedish roster. The Swedes are currently second in Group A, behind "France."
Switzerland is the worst multi-culti team in Europe now, besides England and France. They found a couple of Africans to put on the team in addition to their Albanians. The "Swiss" still appear to be as boring as ever, barely managing to beat Latvia at home. If you want context, they started more Albanians (4) and just as many blacks (3) as actual Swiss players (3). Bosnian immigrant Seforavic was the other white starter in addition to the 3 Swiss players. Josip Drmic had their goal. At least the Albanians are genetically white, so it's better than England and France's Africans running around.
Unfortunately, the "Swiss" are 1st in Group B, with Portugal second. The Portuguese have remained around where they have been the last 6-7 years; 7 white starters in their last qualifier, and finishing with 8. So maybe a little whiter than the Euros, which is good.
Serbia is currently tops in their qualifying group! Along with Ireland, they're the Top 2 teams in Group D, ahead of two mutli-kulti (although they aren't too bad) teams in Wales and Austria.
All-white Poland and Montenegro are the Top two teams in Group E.
Unfortunately, England is the top in Group F. They started 5 whites today against Lithuania.
Italy still has an all-white side, led by one of the greatest keepers of all time in Gianluigi Buffon. Buffon has always been one of my personal favorite players, it's great seeing him playing at a high level yet at 39!! They sit second to Spain in Group G.
Speaking of Spain, they now have a black player in Bayern's Tiago, but are still a good side to support.
Belgium are the co-leaders of Group H. They are as multi-kulti as ever, starting just 6 whites. The "Belgians" are co-leaders with all-white Greece, who are having an nice rebound campaign after that disaster of the Euro qualifiers.
And finally, in Group I, all-white Croatia and Euro 2016 darlings Iceland top the Group. The Croatians have so much talent, I want to see them finally put it to good use in one of these international tournaments! The Turks are fourth in the Group, so I don't think we'll be seeing them at the World Cup.
One other team to look at (as the Americans have their own thread): Australia. It looks like the Aussies, with 2 exceptions on the bench, still are an all-white team. One of those is Tim Cahill, so there's only 1 Turk on the bench, and no blacks from what I saw. They're currently cruising through the first round of Asian qualifiers, although that's not much of an accomplishment.
