Pretty quiet here tonight. The hated Blaine Gabbert led the Titans to a victory over the Josh Johnson-led Redskins earlier, and now we are treated to Eraserhead and the Ravens vs. the Chargers. So far it's all Ravens defense. 3-0 Ravens. Ravens are pretty much a run-only team with their first-round pick under center.

The only thing of note in Titans game was Ryan Kerrigan's 12 sack of the season.

When Gabbert came in late in the first half after Mariota was injured yet again, Mooch complimented the Titans for having an experienced, capable backup available. Nate Burleson and Curt Menefee (who was terrible as the play by play announcer) both immediately snickered and said there was a reason Gabbert was so well traveled. Meantime, they praised ultra-journeyman Josh Johnson the whole game, emphasizing how he hadn't made any "big mistakes." Then right on cue, Johnson threw a pick that effectively ended the game (followed by a pick-six), while Gabbert did a great job of rallying the Titans to the win, who trailed most of the game.

On the NFL Network after the game, the three blacks out of the four analysts (the insufferable Chris Rose was the token non-black) each vociferously defended Johnson, saying the interception wasn't his fault. It certainly looked like an overthrow to me, but even if the receiver was in the wrong place, in 99% of those cases a White QB automatically takes the blame for a pick.

I didn't watch the game but just saw the highlight. The Chargers DB just pulls up and stops trying to chase Andrews at the 20 yard line. Lack of effort is another thing affletes have a plethora of.

I think some of it too is when they know they're beat, they don't want to be the closest defender to the White TD scorer as he crosses the goal line and be the one who gets the perp shot treatment right afterwards. There was no random White Chargers defender to pick on and falsely portray as responsible, unless they wanted to pretend Joey Bosa or Kyle Emmanuel was somehow the villain, which would be a stretch even for the Caste networks. I guess they could have shown Eric Weddle for old time's sake, hoping most DWFs didn't notice he is now a Raven.

It did not look like he was going to be caught. My statement was about the lack of effort - if a white player pulled up with 20 yards to go he would be criticized by the commentators and the play would be run over and over. It wasn't just that play - if you watch any football this afternoon I am sure you will see other examples of lack of effort - black defenders giving up on plays.

By the Big Lie mythology of the Caste System, a black DB should always be able to catch a White tight end. Always. Yet so often we see White tight ends outrun defensive backfields. George Kittle alone provided several examples this season. Luke Willson did also in limited action in Seattle, which is why it's such a shame that he was totally wasted by Detroit this year.

But no, White defenders rarely let up even when they know they're beat; they can't even if they wanted to unless they're one of the few established superstars who won't be roundly criticized if they do.

Watching this replay (Andrews TD) I immediately thought what a lack of effort on the part of number 31 (iirc) after Andrews stiff armed the other DB into the ground. Upon rewatching, 31 tripped a bit over his fellow DB and simply realized he was not gonna catch TE in the remaining 10-15 yards.

The Ravens are playing Tebow-ball with Eraserhead. The same oft-criticized style of football that Denver played with Tebow under center on their playoff run. Strong defense and running game while limiting the passing of Tebow. Turns out if you are a black QB it is a revolution in offense and you become a franchise QB. Honestly I see nothing in Jackson that shows me he is going to develop anymore as a passer. Josh Allen has proven himself to be the more dynamic and athletic QB as well. It still amazes me how white QBs seem to drafted into terrible situations with no thought to how they are going to help them succeed. Jackson on the other hand gets the two of the best TEs in the draft as security blankets.

Good old Mike Turico was bleating last night the same tired nonsense about Jackson "changing the league" and the way young quarterbacks (meaning blacks) want to play the position, acting like the same script and narrative that's been recycled endlessly going back to the days of first Randall Cunningham and then Kordell Stewart and Michael Vick had never been uttered before. Kurt Warner, always the congenial, go-along with just about anything no matter how absurd type, of course agreed.

Anyone notice during the Steeler/NE game last week that Rex did start....
But the announced starters still read Blount at running back....

Tom Pelissero reports this morning: "#Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is likely to be a healthy scratch today, per sources. That creates a spot for undrafted rookie Chad Beebe, who could play a big role today against the #Lions"

Also, Sean Lee is a healthy scratch. It's clear he's being phased out for Vander Esch. His endless hamstring pulls have greatly hampered what would have otherwise been a Hall of Fame career.

That pattern of young athletic white quarterbacks being drafted into unfavourable situations and athletic black quarterbacks being drafted into favorable situations repeats itself time and again.

And it sounds like another black quarterback is going to be a high first round this year. Grier, Lock, Stidham, Minshew etc. are all being written off as afterthoughts in a weak QB class by the "experts". Once the QB position africanizes I am done with the sport. College football is already trending that way.

Minnesota did this a few years ago, the white QB who had wheels got chased out of town because he was not instantly the next Dan Marino to be replaced by Balsa Wood knees Teddy Bridgewater who had no wheels was given plays where he could get out of the pocket to give him another second or two to read something somewhere on the field. Tebow should have at least been offered a Taysom Hill role for the 3rd qb slot.

McCaffrey was “rested” during Thursday’s practice, but returned and is slated to play despite the team’s limited playoff chances.

He’s only 21 yards away from his first 1,000-yard season and the first for a white RB in eight years. Barring a catastrophe, it should be a great day for white RB’s (Zenner and McCaffrey will start, Burkhead will get reps).

Don't think it's been posted yet on CF, but Christian needs just 9 more receptions to pass Matt Forte's league record for the most catches by a running back in a season. Forte's mark is 102 catches in 2014.

Jackson was locked on Andrews the whole time. He wasn’t going to make any other reads. Cannot wait until next year - game film and defensive adjustments. Andrews showed great acceleration and looks to be another superb TE in the making.

That play was too close for #31 to give up on Andrews. #31 is about 1 yard behind Andrews at the 35 yard line. If we look up their 40 times and do some high school math, we would probably conclude that a tackle could have been made.
