I watched baseball and Stanford/Arizona State last night. No way in hell was I turning on that NFL caste fest.

Stanford won against arguably the most caste team I have seen this season in Arizona State. They are lousy by the way.

I mentioned WR Trent Irwin in the week 7 thread. He was solid with a 7-79 stat line but he is underused especially when it comes to mid range pass patterns. He also is a punt returner NFL if you are paying attention.

Rangy LB Sean Barton had a nifty interception.

A while back a Boise State Colorado State Friday night matchup would have been inviting but not even sure if it is worth a look these days?

Yale is on tonight too as is Air Force in a late game.

I am irked that three games of great interest are all on at the same time Saturday at noon. I can generally watch two games at once but three is pushing it. Iowa, Northwestern and Michigan/Michigan State are the teams. Good grief. Wish they could stagger these Big Ten games better.

I was glad to see Stanford beat ASU. I hate that ASU black quarterback.

Dudek is in but not starting. His backup just ripped a 40 yarder......
Let’s see how many carries he gets....

Stanford looked blacker than I like on defense but Barton did indeed have a nice INT.

Shaw made some real questionable calls in the 4th quarter - taking the ball out of Costello's hand and calling predictable running plays - they could of easily lost that game. As for Bryce Love - not sure if it is injury or overuse but he looks really run into the ground. When McCaffery was still at Stanford I remember the analysts saying that Love might be better than McCaffery. Love was a supposed Heisman favorite/1st round pick but he looks like neither of those things.

Irwin is a victim of the offense - he is used on short/intermediate routes while the big toothed WR and the TE's get more of the downfield catches. I hope Irwin gets a Senior Bowl/Combine invite as he is better than his numbers in the Stanford offense.

Toohill, Barton and Alfieri should all be in the NFL next year. Toohill has been injured but is very good when healthy (perhaps a medical redshirt?). With the NFL turning further and further away from white defenders they all face an uphill battle to make a team.

With a tip of the cap to Heretic for pointing him out - Purdue QB David Blough will go up against the Buckeyes tonight at home.

There might be crazy in the air today. We will find out. Just finished watching "English Football" where Chelsea remained unbeaten with a last second goal to tie Manchester United. The ending sent off fireworks. Crazy game. I think it will be one of those type of days.

Last night Zane Dudek is obviously banged up for Yale. Two really tough ordeals this year with both Dudek and Nick Bosa being sidelined.

But Yale won and keep an eye on sophomore speedster WR JP Shofti. He had a 6-78 stat line. For Penn WR Steve Farrell had a 7-173-1 stat line. He is 6'4" but a senior.

Happy Air Force won but RB Remsberg didn't factor in too much despite 9 carries. Need to get him in space. S Jeremy Fejedelem played well yet again. I went to bed at halftime but I noticed he nabbed another interception.

One other note. I barely remember Kevin Turner an Alabama FB who played in the NFL from 1992-1999. He was one of those all purpose fullbacks that was very active. He played for the Patriots and the Eagles and caught a hell of a lot of passes. Several years he had more than 30 plus catches and one year he caught 52. A very solid player.

I bring him up because he died from that dreaded disease ALS a while back. He was Dabo Swinney's (Clemson HC) best friend. So in honor of his friend he recruited Turner's son Nolan. Nolan #24 is a sophomore back up safety with a lot of talent. Some think he has NFL ability. Something to watch out for in Clemson's big game against NC State today. Turner I hope slides into a starting role next season. ESPN did a touching story on the matter.

As long as they aren't fully white the NCAA is completely happy. Only white athletes seem to be incapable of playing RB.

"light complected" is probably the best way to put it.

a couple of interesting notes from the first half of the Iowa game:

#1) the commentators were comparing Iowa’s two talented tight ends. Hockensen (spelling?), is bigger, faster, the better leaper (42-inch vertical), has better hands and runs crisper routes, but (since he’s the White player) “he’s not as dynamic as Fant (the black player).” you can’t make this stuff up. shortly thereafter Fant dropped what would’ve been a sure touchdown. like i said, you can’t make this stuff up.

#2) true freshman cornerback Riley Moss was only thrown at twice in the first half, beautifully breaking up one pass and giving up a short completion on the other, which was a well-designed pick play against man coverage. the commentators rightfully noted that Moss was a high school track star and walked-on to Iowa, but that he has been a playmaker since being inserted into the starting lineup.

TCU pulled the black quarterback and put in a white QB Michael Collins who has made it a 4 point game.

Maryland afflete buttfumble leads to YT Iowa TD. Hilarious!

One of the biggest Caste matchups ever with Iowa's 15 whites against Maryland's 4 (complete with black quarterback). Start of the 4th quarter Iowa leading 23-0.

Northwestern beats loathsome Rutgers, at Rutgers, 18-15. Some nice caste matchup wins so far today with Northwestern, Iowa, and Wisconsin defeating their upside-laden foes.

Also nice to see 3-loss Auburn give New Miss and their quota their third loss as well.

Northwestern should of beat Rutgers by more than 3. Glad to see they are 4-3 now though. Iowa and Wisconsin absolutely dominated. Iowa owned the line of scrimmage on offense and defense.

Quota experiment ended as well as Freshman dual-threat QB Chase Garbers goes 17/26 for 234 yards and 3TD/0INT along with 8 rushes for 54 yards. Not sure why they deviated from their original plan that they've had recent success with, but glad to see them going back to it and Laird becoming the primary focus again.
