now, if he comes to Australia in good form for February next year he can run at Canberra at 600 metres elevation, usually warm and with a following legal breeze? But then again, you have those conditions too

That will be nice for a change. We stay in Pretoria in South Africa and only have wind in August. Summer days are no wind and average 30 degrees C with a 1400m elevation!! Perfect conditions.

The European Juniors start on July 20th.

There will be very high expectations on home favourite Filippo Tortu, who will be looking to crown his junior career with a brace of medals in the sprints. The 19-year-old, who won a silver medal in the 100m at the World U20 Championships last summer, leads the European U20 lists in both the 100m (10.15) and the 200m (20.34).

really was impressed with the U23 Polish women and Polish mens 4x400m relay, the girls were amazing and the Spanish women's 4x100m team was impressive to say the least putting away the British team...

Who are your top 8 current white sprinters that you'd like to see in a final together?
For me, in no particular order:
Guliyev
Gemili
Hortelano
Volko
Teeters
Tortu
Kilty
Lemaitre (reluctantly)

It was nice to see Germany win the 4x100 under 23 champs with the 200 specialist I have been hyping, Roger Gurski , on the team which was all white. Great Britain came in second using 3 black guys when they have at least 5 white guys under 23 at 10.3 in the 100 or better.

they are developing quite a run of good 400 relay teams at all age levels. I think it is an area rewarded by hard work and efficiency without needing the absolute speed of the shorter events. I.E. they're making the most of their physical characteristics and mental toughness and turning it into a track and field culture thing in Poland (the Russians were good at that some decades back).
The Poles don't have former African colonies to draw pure short sprint talent from

A report on Karsten Warholm's achievements at the Euro under 23 Championships
https://www.iaaf.org/news/report/european-u23-championships-warholm

It's interesting to note, that like Dafne Schippers who started as a successful heptathlete, Warholm started as a successful decathlete.
Maybe the strength they built up in training for multi-events, has something to do with their sprint success...???

I wonder if multi-eventers are also the mentally tough ones, whether from all their training or their natural personality trait to even get them into multis in the first place. There is certainly an argument for the benefits of what is virtually cross training

Lemaitre is a paradox. One one hand, he is the most encouraging sprinter we have had with Bolt like genetics, and breaking that frickin 10 second barrier. One the other hand, the most disappointing sprinter we have had by never advancing or upping the level of his training. Always stressed, injured, tired, yet not changing his coach.

Lemaitre has the most talent of all our sprinters, and the least of everything else - mental toughness, physical toughness, competitive spirit, training, attitude, etc. I respect his talent, but I don't really respect him as an athlete, because of the aforementioned reasons.

he can rise to the occasion (World and Olympic bronzes are not an easy 'get') but to me (with a few exceptions like his London 19.92) he seems generally subdued as an athlete. Always looks like the weight of the world is on his shoulders - no joy in it.
I think it's more to do with his personality.

I was playing a game on chess.com where you can for the most part chat with the other player. I can speak Spanish pretty well and know a lot of other languages but I speak a limited amount of French and whenever I play someone from France I always type " vive Christophe Lemaitre " , which means basically long live CM. I do things like this to get under another players skin to try and get the advantage in the game mentally. About 3 days ago I did this and I got a quick response in English that Lemaitre is gay. I really don't care if he is or not but I actually took 5 minutes to try and find some more info on it and found some obscure site that says his net worth is close to 700 million dollars and 29 % of the viewers to the site thought he WAS gay. Not a big deal but just wondering as all.

Very few athletes come out of the closet if they have sponsorship deals with conservative corporations. It seems like the out athletes are "so gay" that it can't be hidden or are political militants. I saw on the internet defending world champion Sean Barber came out as gay while still competing in the pole vault. What I find strange about this case is last year he stated he was given cocaine residue through physical contact with a hired female escort. The Canadian Track and Field Association believed this(in retrospect) tall tale.

A video of the best female sprinter in Germany. I'm in love. So close to sub 11 and with no wind. She
could end up being another Schippers at least over 100 meters. So pretty not to mention talented.

if my eyes dont deceive me, white girls won the 100m(1/2) the 200m and the 400m sprints at the U18 World Championships The CZE gal Malikova won the 400m quite easily...dont know if anyone posted the race so here it is...watch her accelerate at the 200m mark.

This reminds me of a funny(in a dark sense) incident about 20ish years ago in Toronto where a regular citizen had a similar name to somebody was arrested or released from jail for pedophilia and the innocent man had newspapers television stations and would be vigilantes calling his house. The situation was so bad he needed a press conference with lawyers saying he was the other John Q Public guy.
