those German girls - looking good in every sense of the word and a very good end of season time. That included a terrible first change and 3 very "safe" changes - I'd say they have sub 42 capability.

Look at Lisa Mayer's 2nd leg in slo-mo (4.25 on).
No clues, but does anyone see a style reminiscent of someone else with that powerhouse high footdrop action?

they'd better spend the off season doing reactions, starts and transitions looking at that- both lots of speed though. Great omen for 2018

The German Womans Sprinters are truely elite talent. We all know Gina Luekenkemper went sub 11 this season. I fully expect Lisa Meyer and a few others to acheive this by next summer. Mayer has such a long stride length and incredible top end speed. She just needs to get her starts down bettrer. Rebecca Haase and a few others are not far behind talent wise. So exciting to see. Now if ony the german men could get up to that level. We would really have something.

She is a long strider. She is tall and their is nothing bad about that. It is good. I don't know what your trying to say
but they are clean, natural and beautiful. They are so pretty on and off the track. I could watch them all day long.

If you look at female dopers they tend to be much more sinewy than clean athletes and have more muscle than clean(or cleaner) athletes. These German athletes look like female athletes from cleaner eras as they don't have the look of Jeter or Flo Jo.

Ukranian sprinter Povh who was caught doping leading up to the world championship and had the look I'm talking about.

Anyone remember German sprinter Katrin Krabbe? I always rooted for her back in the day.

Of course I remember Krabbe she was a HUGE sex symbol back then. I loved her along with another German long jump phenom athlete supreme Heike Drechsler who is also seen running in the 100M race Don posted where she came in second. Those two were athletic and SEXY AS HELL Below is a 1991 Sports Illustrated piece on Krabbe.

Woah Nellie, take your finger off the sensitivity trigger :) I was answering MM's post on which sprinters strides she reminded him of, nothing more. I was saying her strides reminded me of Gatlins and Lemaitres. I think she is a fantastic sprinter...

My bad sprintstar. I wasn't paying close enough attention as I was half asleep. I've just seen too many people try to discredit our men and women. Just like yourself they all make us very proud. She along with the other german ladies is quite the talent!

I also think female negro sprinters are terrified of the gorgeous white german sprinters and Schippers as they are on a tear and will dominate in the next few years. I was reading some comments on youtube in regards to Sally Pearson and all the negro posters are saying she is doping. When I mentioned she has a 11 second 100m and is technically the best female hurdler they accuse me of being a racist cracker...lol Negros just cant handle the fact that whites are as fast or faster than they are and are starting to show it on a world level. What will they say when Tortu, Teeters and co all go sub 10? lol

Lemaitre 20.21 sb glad he got a SB but he is really off his form. His stamina in the 200 is poor. He needs to make changes for next year. Still love watching him run. Guliyev nipped for 2nd finished 3rd. Apparently Bosse from France was viciously assaulted last week in France and sustained bad facial injuries..I am curious as to who did this to him...darkies?

Guliyev really stepped it up this year, breaking 10.00 and winning the 200 at the world champs. Schippers won the 200 at the world champs. Tortu, Volko and Luekenkemper hold big promise for the future. On the downside, Teeters was a no show and Lemaitre battled injuries and conditioning issues. All in all, it was one of the more intriguing seasons we have had since this site began.

I feel like this could have been said of Lemaitre in any of the last 5 seasons.....and was!

I see nothing wrong with Lemaitre's 200 meter training. It's the 100 meter training that needs to be literally blown up and started over, at this point if he or his team aren't willing to do that he might as well become a 200 meter specialist who uses the 100 for training purposes, similar to Guliyev.

He would have much fresher legs at majors if he did this.

It was either 2013 or 2014 he gained 15-20 pounds I believe. He's never been the same. I think he should lose a bit of weight and get back to his lighter days, then work on getting stronger but not heavier.

NWsoccerfan, I agree he needs to lighten his weight a bit for him it is maybe 5-8lbs extra on his frame or turn that extra weight into lean muscle. He has relatively good sized thighs but his upper body is small, as well he has a bit of a double chin which means his body fat is a bit high for his weight. Build his legs/thighs abit more, work on his upper body muscle mass and core strength and he would be a world beater....the big thing is "he" has to want it and to want to do better. I still believe he can be the world class sprinter he was and I love watching his races, I always cheer for him.

Like my Dad always said "if it aint broke dont fix it, if is broke fix it" He has a good 4-5 years left in his career I hope he "fix's" it

I agree his 100m training is not effective.
But at the same time, I don't think fresh legs have been the issue. Lemaitre has run very few serious races outside the major championships over the past few seasons, and not many of those were 100m races.
He needs to change up his routine and training, but we have been saying that for 5 years here. It's just not going to happen.

Here are the top white and Asian 100m times this year. (wind and altitude legal)
Surprisingly, Asians dominate this list.
But maybe it's not surprising. Japan, Korea, and China are mostly homogenous countries, and so the athletes there are allowed to develop to their full potential.
In the US and western Europe, whites always get pushed out of the sprints in favor of blacks.
Even in the US, as I pointed out before, many of the best white sprinters in the past 50 years came from traditionally 'white' states like Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, etc.,
where they would have had more of a chance to participate and develop in the sprints.
This list just shows us that there should be many more white sprinters running very fast, as the Asian sprinters are now doing.

Ramil Guliyev 9.97
Yoshide Kiryu 9.98
Bingtian Su 10.02

Shuhei Tada 10.07
