been watching the Euro U20 championships. Is it just me, or is Tortu more muscular? The Brits are looking good. Check out Bromby and Ashwell.

it is worth it. Emile did not make the worlds squad and South Africa did not qualify for the relays!! Athletics South Africa had their own qualifying standard and are leaving 20 athletes behind that qualified on IAAF standard. Ridiculous!!!

Thanks for the video Limitless.
I always thought English announcers were invariably intelligent. This commentator actually got smarmy announcing Tortu was over half a second off his best time yet failed to say it was into a 4.3 mph headwind. I am going to try and figure out the math here and post later.
On a good note we had 6 out of the 8 finalists being white. The bad news is I noticed about 3 0r 4 black Italians in a crowd of about 50 shown in a small area cheering for Tortu.
I am just trying to figure out the time with a maximum legal wind. I would have to say Purola ran a low 10.2 with a legal wind at his back.

what's with the girl from Belarus walking off the podium during her national anthem, she won gold in the triple jump at the European U20's. The camera panned to her after she walked off podium and she had taken the gold medal off as well then left the area....protest of some kind or not feeling well?

Knowing the top 4 finishers and their personal bests they all seem to have run about .6 seconds faster so I am going to give Purola a 10.25 with good wind. I don't know if he is running in the world under 20 championships in 2 weeks but I hope he does.

It's so exciting how many young white sprinters we have around the globe right now both male & female. I think we are
going to see more Lemaitre/Guliyev types like I said before.

We know Tortu belongs and now I would say the same thing about Purola & Bromby. Also happy to see Barthel of Germany run well. I will repeat what so many here think. Purola is amazing. To do this so consistantly at only 17. Major props and I really am so excited about the potential of his career. Hope he gets some endorsement deals soon!

Henrik Larsson of Sweden is another promising prospect, and he is also only 17 years old.
He looked very good in the heats and the semis, but seemingly ran out of gas in the final.
I'm sure that as he matures, he will be better able to handle the rounds of championship racing.
So, 4 really good prospects from this race!

just discovered tonight that "Ollie" Bromby was in the same squad as my son-in law in Britain about 5 years ago. He was always going to be fast although Norm , my son-in-law, could beat him comfortably then. (well, a 27 year old against a 14 year old... you'd hope so)

Toby Harries t00k the European under 20 200 meters in 20.89 in a .9 headwind. The kid looks pretty white but I wonder if he is of the Daniel Talbot extraction? Samuel Purola took the bronze in 21.00 and did not run a good first 100 as the curve takes time. That was his 6th race in 2 days. Pretty impressive to take 2 medals and especially the bronze competing against guys 2 years+ . If this kid develops over the next 2 years he should be in an Olympic final at the very least.

wow, watching the Euro U20's and cant help but notice that France, England, Belgium, Italy, Germany and Norway have so many negro athletes, France especially. Like I keep asking do these countries not have enough of there own white athletes to fill out their teams? I mean Italy has negros with altered last names to give them an Italian sound and look lol how sad......Thankful for Poland and the other eastern European countries haven't let this filth infiltrate their ranks....as of yet.

France and England it's been this way for a generation. I would say what is more troubling are countries like Spain, Portugal and worse Turkey(which is on the verge of a possible civil war) where they don't have any population of Black citizens. These athletes aren't anything but professional passport chasers.

U20-EM Grosseto women: Germany runs 43,27 to a new World Record (U20)

Germany took the under 20 European mens 4x100 relay. Great Britain came in fourth with an all white team with Oliver Bromby and Dominic Ashwell running with two other white guys I have neve seen or heard of. Two positive notes were France coming in 5th with an all black team and Italy's all white team taking the silver though with Fillipo Tortu taking the baton on the anchor leg was behind the German runner by about 10 to twelve feet and still ran him down and just lost by a step. Tortu can fly. He will be the guy to watch next year with Purola as we all know.

21 year old Scottish sprinter, Adam Thomas , just ran a legal 10.23 the other day. His previous best from last year was a wind aided 10.41 so maybe another guy to follow.

Kilty out of WC 4x100m relay, and also out for the season:

"Kilty, a world indoor 60m champion, feared he would have to undergo an amputation after trapping his finger in a heavy wooden door at his home in Teesside. The severe open fracture is on the hand he uses for baton changeovers and made recovering in time to take his place on the squad impossible.
“I thought I may lose the finger,” said Kilty. “Thankfully it has been saved and is recovering well. This is hard for me to take in but I will take time to have a small operation around my foot and achilles and recover from illness.
“ This year things started great defending my European 60m title, but since then I have been plagued with illness and an achilles injury which have set me back a lot this summer.”

I see our old friend Rytis Sakalauskas of Litjuania ran 10.30 on the 24th June in Tel Aviv.
Not bad into a 2.1 headwind. I hope we see him in London and in good shape. He's now 30.

here he is dead heating the Universiade title 6 years ago and setting a NR 10.14 into the process.

Emile not selected for WC and no relay for invite for South Africa. We finished 17th in the standings and only 16 invited!!

once again the 3 men go 1-2-3 in the womens 800m in DL Zurich. I think the only way this stops is if all the real women stop competing in the DL/WC and Olympic womens 800m. I know it will never happen and it is a drastic measure and lost income for the real women but it sure would send a message...fast! Maslak needs to stick to indoor 400m as his outdoor times just are not competitive, he would need to lower his PB to mid to low 44's to compete outdoors and I doubt that will happen. He does have great form but not the wheels.

Lemaitre 6th in 10.21
Julian Reus chokes as usual with a 10.34 for 8th place.
