Luke Kuechly is going through concussion protocols. His replacement Mayo did pretty good

Huge loss for panthers if Luke is out.

Newton is a bum. I lost count of the number of times McCaffrey would be wide open coming out of the backfield and sCam wasn't even looking his way. When he did, he over/under threw him several times on what would've been easy gains. When they did connect, CM always made a play, picked up yards or first downs, including that TD.

It's a bummer he has ended up in CAR, I try to imagine what would've happened with someone like Rodgers, Brady, Ryan, or any capable QB who can make these basic throws. They are not using him properly, no question. Returning punts and picking up blitzes, this is a waste of his talents.

To be sure, blitz pick-up on third down is certainly in the job description of any competent RB, but I saw too much of it tonight. It's the first CAR game I've seen this year only to watch CM, so I don't know if this mis-use has been going on all season. Based on the comments here, I believe it is.

Christian McCaffrey caught 10-of-14 targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers' Week 6 loss to the Eagles.

McCaffrey "added" four rushes for eight yards. McCaffrey's bunny catches were as close as the Panthers came to establishing a running game outside of Cam Newton's scrambling. McCaffrey heated up as the game wore on, but really struggled to make plays early. So far, McCaffrey isn't displaying the same sensational stop/start skills he did at Stanford. He's sometimes looked like a deer in headlights when given the opportunity to make plays 1-on-1. Thankfully for fantasy owners, his receiving has been consistent, as he's now up to 44 catches through six games. That is keeping his RB2 value afloat.

Weenieworld in usual form. I am positive that if Derek Anderson was qb CM would have much better production. I hope CM gets traded out of Carolina at some point because being sCam’s rb is a nightmare. Romo even pointed out that on a rb wheel route CM was wide open for a TD and sCam missed the read completely. CM will truly reach his potential when he is out of Carolina or gets a better qb. I truly believe this.

Carolina’s “real” running back, Jonathan Stewart had another stellar game: 8 carries for -4 yards. It’s time to make Mcaffrey the every down feature back. Carolina’s offense looks like junior high, where they draw up every play for one guy. And, like junior high football, the most effective play is the quarterback running the ball.

Honestly I thought Scam might transcend the black quarterback stereotype of being one read, done, run, obviously not. I was wrong, and because of black antics this team is done for years, can't bench him or cut him, because some voodoo called "racism." Carolina's MVP for years has been Olsen, without him wide open most every time scam would be completely utterly pitiable in stats.

Did anyone else find it strange that Kuechly didn't really seem too shaken up by the hit, yet was immediately put in concussion protocol
Later on, Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham took a direct shot to the head, and lay on the ground squirming for several minutes, yet was allowed right back into the game only a few plays later...

Scam is an above average qb when he is playing at his best but is never level in his playing but rather very hot and cold. I watched the end of the game when they players were going up to each other doing the handshakes - Wentz looks to be just as big as Newton - I never hear anyone speak about Wentz's physical prescience the way they do about scam.

Scam is an inconsistent qb, he puts to much weight on his back foot/leg when he throws - his mechanics are not very good and I don't hear this being critiqued at all. Pro football talk has an article up about McCaffrey and is mentioning his lack of big plays - all of the dwfs are calling him a bust in the comment section. They aren't mentioning at all how he gets carries sporadically in a game and how the Panthers are using him - just more laughable "analysis" from pft and the same dwf drivel we expect.

Not a good night for me. In MLB the Nationals fell short once again and the football game was really frustrating. The Eagles have very few white players of import outside of Wentz, who is the best young QB in football and a rising star, plus TE Ertz who is excellent. Meanwhile the Panthers looked disorganized and jumbled. They clearly miss TE Greg Olsen, a premier player and downfield threat. And Kuechly going down took the sail right out of them. He is not only their key defensive star he has been in my mind the best defensive player in football the past 6 plus years. Losing him knocks his team down from an above average team to a mediocre one he is that important. I suspect the head injury is minor but given his history it is a cause for concern. S Colin Jones saw a lot of action last night but all of the plays were made away from him.
Leo is right, there are times Newton plays above average but he is and will always be a clod who doesn't have enough skill to take them over the top to win a Super Bowl. Leo is right, Cam the clod's footwork is atrocious. Last night and after all these years he still resembles a clueless rookie out there when it comes to proper footwork.
Still as sloppy and disjointed as they looked last night Carolina could have pulled out a victory. Sadly this team seems entirely disinterested in a regular looking running attack and Ron Rivera has been a solid coach but the one theme that remains with him is his lack of offensive imagination. Dull is the word. Can't they figure out a way to get CM the ball more in space? Last night it was the dink and dunk show once against as CM would get the ball and have nowhere to go. He isn't built like a slot WR per say otherwise I would just say try and turn him into Edelman. That said CM did catch ten passes last night and he catches passes like someone rolling out of bed. It was all set up last night for CM to be the hero though and I kept thinking he is finally going to break free and score the winning TD. Sadly the inept offense stumbled and bumbled and they came up short. Not sure where Carolina is heading but they need to shore up their blocking running schemes which will open up some play action chances. Too damn predictable.

No question decaf is the most talented player for the panthers. The NFL and the Panthers know this as well and as I posted earlier, he will continue to be systematically marginalized, even at the expense of loses.

McCaffrey caught 10 passes and a TD pass last night, and Newton missed him in the endzone for what would have been a long touchdown. That's hardly being marginalized. He also got some carries, but he'll need to do better than his current 2.7 yards per run average to seriously cut into the carries Stewart is getting.

I think Christian is being used fairly to this point. He's lining up as a tailback on most of his snaps and is getting a lot of looks and touches. What he needs now is some "splash plays," both as a runner and a receiver. He needs to use his quickness to be more elusive, too often he's running full speed until he's tackled. It's a bit of nervousness he's showing as an NFL newbie and trailblazer and I'm not concerned about it yet.

I have seen some of the "hi-lights" of the Panther's running game. That O-line sucks. The RBs are getting stuffed on the line of scrimmage. Its better that CM is not part of that malarkey. CM is being used alot. Just needs to have his plays in space. At this point, I don't think CM is nervous. Alot of teams are keyed in on him as the excellent Romo has pointed out.

I agree with Don about Christian's usage and I'm actually glad that McCaffrey isn't being used a runner behind this woeful run-blocking OL. Stewart was getting smashed in the backfield almost immediately on every carry. Meanwhile, CM has 37 catches (2 for TD's) through 6 games. He's on pace for 98 grabs for the season. He's usually on the field for every play of a given drive, but sometimes isn't in on 1st down. Nice optics from last night...

The grotesque spectacle of October as the NFL's Pink Month seems to have been quietly discontinued. Maybe the league is responding to the rising amount of criticism and ridicule it was generating each year.

I was listening to Speak for Yourself on FS1 and they were doing a segment on the panthers eagles game. The only thing they talked about was sCam and it was almost nothing but excuses for him and blame for his surrounding cast. Not a word about the rising superstar Carson Wentz who in only his second year in the league and coming from an FCS school has led his team to a 5-1 record and is currently leading the league in touchdown passes. Imagine if the tables were reversed and an established white qb had a bad game and lost to an up and coming black quarterback

What will the NFL do in November about the troops, I wonder?

I have to say that the treatment of Christian McCaffrey is unreal to me. They have no running game yet still play an old man at running back. Despite the lack of a ground game, Coach Rivera still refuses to play Christian M. at his natural postion. If it were not for a few really good games by Cam, this team wou be under 500. You cannot expect to keep winning with an inconsitant qb and very few playmakers.

No first round draft pick that is a top 10 running back has ever been treated like this to the best of my knowledge. Yes they pass to him but even then it looks like they only do it out of desparation. It's as if the team, the owner and the league want this kid to fail. They are trying to do everything to break his confidence. If Carolina continues to run the game plan this way I hope they have a losing season! Why draft one of the best college running backs ever if your not going to use him. It just doesn't make any sense. There is an agenda here for those with the eyes to see it!

Right! I "hear" there have been a noticable amount of less of the pink crap adorned the greatest affelets.

WL, its actually better that CM is not running the ball. The Panthers O-line sucks. It's better if the scrubs affelets get drilled for no yards rather than CM. CM is doing fine with receiving.
