2017 NFL Week 1

Schobert now the Brown's leading tackler, with 7 total, 3 more than the next highest player.

Mike Glennon looking sharp today. Just took the Bears on a long drive to score a TD. Mainly due to his passing.

From BSPN Twitter Feed:

T.J. Watt is the first Steeler with two sacks and an interception in a game since LaMarr Woolley in 2010. The last rookie to accomplish the feat was Kevin Williams in 2003.

Just heard Bill Cower during halftime highlights of the Matakevich and Chickillo blocked punt and TD mockingly exclaim, "Where do they get these names?!!". Can you imagine if he mocked, oh let's say, the ludicrous first names that about 7 out of every 10 Black players have? And those are given names...whereas you inherit a last name. Nuts. Just nuts.

I'm telling you, the double-standards and open disdain for Whites is insane.

He could have just as easily turned that around to a positive and say those are good football names like Nitsche or Buoniconti.

Could everybody imagine the monster game Danny would be having if he was healthy and getting the 17 carries that Allen has picked up since the injury.

BSPN Twitter Feed from Michael Wilbon:

Damn...scared to get too excited about what's developing in Soldier Field...but w Cutler gone I'm not expecting automatic pick6

I guarantee you this would never be tweeted about a black QB...and the chances of it being true would be greater.

LOL Detroit PA system plays Beatles "Let it Be" during review of Lions TD.

I got a certain level of teasing for my weird-sounding, hard to pronounce, ethnic European last name in school. A lot of that came from members of the Magical Race, who often have last names like Jones, Williams, Washington, etc. Curiously, their first names, such as Donteneisha or Rayshaunda (actual names I remember), were not considered fair game for retaliatory teasing. After taking my husband's very easy to pronounce last name, it was quite a contrast never again having to explain how to spell or pronounce it. #BlackPrivilege

I also remember an article by Dave Barry, the very overrated and unfunny "humor" columnist in which he made fun of Winter Olympic athletes' names. All of them were White, of course, and most of them were eastern European. Making fun of African, Arab, or Asian names would have been considered horribly racist and evil, but it's okay to be ignorant and xenophobic when the target is White.

You have to be kidding me! Mike Glennon just had TWO game winning touchdowns taken away from him because his affletic receivers couldn't hold on to the ball

Glennon played great today. And Tampa Bay wouldn't even give him a fair chance.
