A new NFL year is upon us with the Thursday nite matchup being the black (defense) and whit (offense) Patriots against Fat Bastard's KC Chiefs. As usual with any game, my only hope is for the highly visual success of our white players.

It'll be great to see the NFL's two best TE's (Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce) square off in the opener. I'm also anxious to see how Chris Hogan and Danny Amendola will be utilized after Edelman's injury. It would be nice to see Brandin Cooks bust this season and Hogan shine.

This season, the Chiefs (a team famous for employing black "sumo" OL long before they were popular) will be fielding their whitest OL that I can ever recall:

LT - Fisher
LG - Witzmann
C - Morse
RG - Duvernay-Tardif*
RT - Schwartz

*Does anyone know the ethnicity of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif? In uniform, he looks white, but upon closer inspection he is clearly mixed. He was born in Canada, so perhaps he's partially "First Nationer" (featherhead)...

If he's considered "white," then the Chiefs join the Vikings and Falcons as the only NFL teams to field an all-white OL.

His grandfather was a famous politician of Quebec lineage as far as I know he is full blooded French but he could have some distant native ancestry, but they do have swarthy French people from the south and the border areas with Italy and Spain.

Yeah, I noticed the "snow plow" in the early preseason games when the first team was on the field. I didn't really believe my eyes except that Smith actually had time to throw and the holes for the RB's seemed bigger. Not that they could actually see them to run through them, but that's another one of the Chiefs' problems. I would wager that Brandon Wegher could suit up tomorrow and be better than any of the backs on the roster right away. Hell, just think what Zach Zenner could do.

Looking forward to Burkhead finally getting his chance to really shine on the national stage. I am hoping a combined 100+ game or 120 yards rushing. That would great!

The Boston Herald is expecting a big game from Rex:

The Boston Herald expects a "big night" for Rex Burkhead and James White in Thursday's opener. The Patriots' backfield has remained a mystery since coach Bill Belichick proclaimed presumed early-down starter Mike Gillislee still had a "ways to go." Burkhead hype has been bubbling under, while White's pass-catching role is presumed to have grown since Julian Edelman's injury. Burkhead is a high-upside Week 1 dart throw. Gillislee is a volatile RB3/FLEX.

I am very excited to see T-rex show his talent on the national stage. All he needs is for a coach to believe in him. He has
always had the talent from Nebraska to the NFL. Just play the guy and watch some eye popping stats that he will produce.
Let's go Pats and let's go Burkhead!

I too am eager to see how well Burkhead plays. If given the opportunity to be a regular starter he has the talent to be a 1000 yard rusher. That would be great from a caste perspective.

Malcolm Mitchell placed on IR by the Patriots.......should help Hogan and Burkhead to get lots of touches. For the first time ever I have too many White RBs on my FF team........had Burkhead on the bench but may put him in the flex and start three White RBs.......LOL.....good times......

Go Pats! Also hoping for big performances from Smith, Kelce, Zombo and Sorensen from the Chiefs.

Most of the time when the Pats' offense is on the field it feels like the alt-right against antifa. Lol. You know which side I'm on. :)

I hope Weird Uncle Al and Christine are tolerable tonight.

Gillilsee gets the red zone touches and scores easy td. Rex had a nice 8yd catch.

Chiefs rookie RB from Toledo fumbles on his first career carry.

Pats' d-line and linebackers are garbage...

I'd love to see them bring in Ben Heeney... Van Noy is going to be a disaster at MLB....

Good game so far by Danny Amendola. Closing in on a 100 yard game. Luckily his fumble moments ago was not a turnover.

Danny Amendola led the NFL in total yards one year. You never heard the mainstream media mention this much.

Patriots RB by committee approach is hurting Rex, he may have some big games in him this year but I'm guessing they will be scattered throughout the season, it's anyone's guess any given Sunday.

Brady clearly in rhythm with Cooks, haven't seen much of Dorsett. Amendola is having a nice game, Hogan has been neglected to my fantasy teams dismay.
