Tony Pauline actually has some decent things to say about a couple of our players:
Sleeper Prospect– Tanner Gentry/WR/Wyoming: Entering the season scouts graded Gentry as roster fodder but the senior is posting career numbers and turning heads. During the overtime loss to UNLV he registered 5 receptions for 184 yards with 3 touchdowns. Ten games into season the totals read 48 receptions, 778-yards (16.2yd average) with 8 scores. Gentry is a big bodied receiver (6-feet/1-inch, 210lbs) with sneaky speed (4.5s) and very reliable hands. He plays smart, tough football and I would expect him to land somewhere in the middle of day three.
Small School Prospect- Brady Gustafson/QB/Montana:Considered a street free agent entering the season by scouts, Gustafson has been on a straight shot north on draft boards. Measuring over 6-feet/5-inches and 240lbs, he possesses next level physical skills but also comes with a quarterback brain. Gustafson makes proper choices in the pocket, does not force throws and uses all his targets. He easily drives deep throws but is also adept at putting touch on the short passes when necessary. His accuracy and pass placement are spot on as he allows receivers the opportunity to pick up big yardage after the catch. Presently I grade him as a fourth rounder and expect Gustafson to have the opportunity to improve his draft stock even further at a post season All Star game.
