First a side note. The Super Bowl in Houston will be played on an artificial surface called turf nation. Secondly Ryan Shazier the dirtiest player this side of Suh was his usual dirty self trying to knock out Edelman with a head shot last night. He was penalized but you have guys like Richard Sherman bitching about NFL rules that he finds too strict when it comes to celebrations when you would think the players would first and foremost want stricter rules on skull shots and the elimination of ghastly artificial playing fields.
Ghastly. That's how I felt after the Packers game-(-for the record Atlanta is in my mind just as caste as the Steelers unless you want to make a case for part time edge rusher vet Brooks Reed?)- and listening to Mike and Mike this morning. Why listen you ask ? I want to see what the enemy has to say when they have to eat you know what. But these two royal pricks will not be deterred. Greenberg was a fire breathing ball of hate that bitterly complained that the Steelers didn't adjust to the Pats passing game. Golic threw Hogan and Edelman under the bus by demeaning them and saying things like they are not elite by any means but products of a system.Leo mentioned in a post today that a lot of the media has bought into the theory that Hogan and Edelman are "system players" and nothing more. Their take on the Pack game was entirely different. Not a word about the Pack's incredibly bad DB's. In a nutshell according to them and their guest today the Falcons were just too athletic and fast. Both Golic and Greenberg were frothing at the mouth over Julio Jones like schoolgirls at a Justin Beiber concert.
As they pissed and moaned about the Steelers zone giving the Pats wide receivers" freedom to find gaps" their whole argument was put the black dudes on the white dudes man on man. They ignored the game last week where Hogan was torching the man to man of Houston and was on his way to way over 100 yards but was sidelined with an injury for basically an entire half. Edelman also had a an excellent game against the" man to man" the two Mike dickheads were squealing for in the Steelers game.
Hogan has emerged as the best white deep threat on a team of national import since Jordy .BTW Kudos to Jordy for toughing it out Sunday with broken ribs. Playing man to man on Hogan is fraught with danger. If the CB doesn't get a good early jostle on him then the safety better be in position or he will burn the crap out of him taking it to the house. Probably the best defense is to double team him but you can't have the safety too shallow. The Pats played that scheme with Antonio Brown who is lightening quick but does not have the pure deep speed of Hogan so the safety can move in a bit closer. With Hogan one false move by the safety and it is goodnight ala the flea flicker last night. Edelman can't be covered one on one. He is just too quick and agile but since he is in the slot the linebacker traffic helps cover for the CB. But the bottom line is these guys are too good and the best way to "eliminate" the danger from these wide receivers is to apply a fast and disruptive pass rush which the Steelers were banking on. Keep in mind Julian was not at full strength last year against Denver.
This is a very important game for us and it won't be easy. I want to see the likes of Greenberg and Golic eat it RAW!!!!
In case you are wondering I am sort of rooting for the Pats ha ha ha. One last thing. When was the last time a Super Bowl team featured two star white wide receivers? I know there were great white WR's on the first three Super Bowl winners the Packers and Jets but after that??? Oh and Steve Watson (who was mentioned in the 1000 yard forum) the former Denver great WR got a mention last night when they were discussing great undrafted wide receivers like Chris Hogan. Penn State you ********.
Atlanta is NOT as caste as Pittsburgh.
The Falcons have 5-6 White starters on offense & 2 on defense. Whereas, $hitsburgh only has 4 White starters on offense & none on defense.
