Blackhawk safety Earl Thomas, admittedly a good player and key part of their defense appears to have suffered a broken leg. He's most likely done for the year and this should deal a big blow to their Super Bowl chances, so that's good news.

He's also the player who delivered what was arguably a cheap shot at Gronk a few weeks ago, which turned out to be the back injury that took him out, so some karma there as well.

NE needs to win out and OAK needs to lose one game so that they get the #1 seed. In a potential conference championship game, I like NE's chances at home, especially without Gronk.

Crissy just heaping compliments on Ted Ginn who he says is finally figuring out how to become a WR after just about a decade in the league and being a top 10 pick

Exactly after the guy lets a pass bounce right off his chest.

I wonder if Crissy is capable of shutting up for even a single play. He'd fit in great with a group of teenage girls.

He reminds me of one of the many memorable lines from The Big Lebowski, when the old and rich Lebowski says to The Dude, "What in God's holy name are you blathering about?"

NE's trio of White defenders, Long, McClellin and Ninkovich, all had sacks. Shea lead the way too with 7 total tackles.
Good for Shea; he really needs to make some plays down the stretch, as this could be his last shot at a starting gig. Good to see Nink and Long still doing it; seems like every time I watch the Pats, the commentators are whining about the pass rush, yet they continue to win/dominate...

Wolfe, Crick, and Adam Gotsis all saw playing time on Denver's D-line in their win over the Jags.
It'll be nice to see all three in there at the same time; that fatso Sylvester Williams is pretty much useless anyway...

The Redskins poly sumo needs to be replaced. I really hope the Redskins have a white friendly draft and sign Cousins to a long term deal.
Cousins has been a top 5 QB this year, no question, and the D is fun to watch too. Kerrigan and Murphy are both among league leaders in sacks. Compton is getting better every week; I just hope they don't pull the plug on his development like Atlanta did with Worrilow, because the DWFs hate him.
Anyway, they'll be looking for receiver help for sure (Abbrederis/Hartline?) They could use a safety, tackle, a pair of corners (not that that matters to me), and hopefully Matt Ioannidis can get into the lineup next year. I'd also like to see them bring in a veteran LB to pair with Compton inside, maybe James Laurinaitis?

Whatever happened to Colin Jones? Seemed so promising.
One of their starting safeties is out tonight, so where indeed is Colin Jones? He doesn't even get into the sub packages much anymore... The most upsetting part is that Jones is probably the fastest guy on the team.

Scam's regression this season should be a huge story considering the media anointed him the MVP last year.
Yeah, and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. He's playing just like he played his first 4 years in the league: middling at best to down right terrible... this is Cam Newton...

Playoff picture in the NFC is disgusting... I really hope Washington, Green Bay, and Minnesota find a way in.

Hopefully, either the Packers or Vikings can win-out and make the playoffs, preferable replacing odious Caste teams like the Giants and Lions. GB has won two straight and if they can get past Seattle next week, at home, it would be a big confidence boost to the remaining games. MIN has an easier road than GB, as they play the CHI and JAX to close out the season. I'd also prefer the Saints (who are better to watch this year with Fleener, Hill, Kuhn, and some white defenders) to win the NFC South instead of TB.

In the AFC, I'm rooting the Steelers to miss the playoffs, as they have a very talented offense (Ben, Brown, Bell) and that could give NE trouble. I'd actually prefer the Ravens or Cincinnati (who needs a miracle, but is still alive).

Earl Thomas going down with an injury is a huge loss. I will be a full fledged Packers fan next weekend as they take on plantation Pete and his magical midget.

a couple Russell Wilson stats you won't hear on ESPN:

-Wilson failed to register a single TD, passing or rushing, in 5 of his 12 starts this year. That's by far the most goose eggs for a QB that has started all 12 games.
-Two games account for half of his whopping 12 TD passes this season, throwing 3 against the Jets and 3 against the Pats. That's 6 TD passes spread out across the remaining 10 games!!

The baffling part of this is how well versed talking heads at ESPN are at explaining why Ryan Tannehill's stats don't mean anything...
They can cross-reference every stat in the book to show why Kirk Cousins is not an elite quarterback, but somehow have not noticed how inconsistent and unproductive Wilson, who by most accounts, is a consensus top 5 quarterback, has been this year...

What is the end-goal here? What are they trying to accomplish by propping up an obviously average quarterback into a star/face of the league? What does this say about the league, what with the ratings plunge and all?

^Its the same with Cam Newton, regressed to his mean after last years (admittedly very good) play. Same excuses are made, he has no running game no defence etc which has zero to do with him struggling to complete passes and throwing 12(?)TD to 6/7(?) interceptions(off the top of my head). Drew Bress is 37, playing with no running game and no defence and is tearing things up, Aaron Rogers the same.

Andrew Luck having his way with this coal black defense. Whites aren't allowed to play in NFL secondaries though. Bowles is another bonehead coach that should be on his way out soon. As Gruden just said "this is embarrassing."

The announcer just called out the idiotic Jets defender - telling him to look at the scoreboard.

I'm sure this game is doing wonders for the NFL's failing ratings.

Bowles looks like another black head coach in over his head. Everyone in the NYC area wants to see Petty or eventually Hackenburg getting the reps at QB. However, Bowles keeps saying Fitz gives the team the best shot at winning. Perhaps true but playing a future-less guy to win meaningless games looks short sighted and selfish. Bowles is coaching like a guy on a short leash.

They should of put Petty in a few weeks back. Hackenberg is a work in progress - I think with that they are doing the right thing. Once Decker went down the Jets offense sputtered. This jets defense is beyond pathetic and should be blown up after the year.

I dont understand what Gruden sees in Smiff. I think he is just trying to fill air time.

Yeah, that may be the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. You'd have to be on dope to be impressed with anything Geno Smith has done...

Fritz has surely regressed from the end of last year. What gives? Him or his supporting cast? I think both.

It's a bit of both. I think he hurt himself by sitting out all of training camp to get a one year deal. IMO he should of been happy the Jets wanted him back after bouncing around as a career journey man. Decker's loss really killed the offense as he and Marshall are the only legitimate receivers to speak of on that team. They have no TE which also hurts.

Just saw that Nick Kwiatkowski had 9 solo tackles and 2 passes defensed for the Bears on Sunday. So the WVU tackling machine becomes an instant tackling machine in the NFL. Who'd a thunk it? As usual, only us.

Back in September, it was Kwiatkowski who laid a viscous hit on Cowboys sumo, La'el Collins, during a bull rush blitz. Collins was lost for the season on the hit...

Collins injured multiple body parts (knee, toe) on that play and was placed on IR.

He had such a good game against the 49ers that he knocked the "C" off of his helmet...

Yeah, we had some really good LBs come out of the draft this year. The sad part is most of them will not crack the lineup for a least a couple years:
Kwiatkowski, while he played great, will be back behind Trevathan and Freeman next year. Both of whom received big contracts.
Fackrell is stuck behind hall of famers Matthews and Peppers. Complicating matters more, Nick Perry finally decided to play after 3-4 years of futility.
Matakovich is stuck behind Timmons and Shazier, admittedly, both good players.
The Browns traded for Jamie Collins and again, have a ton of draft picks in 2017; hopefully Schobert and Scooby don't get lost in the shuffle.
Vigil may have the best opportunity to crack the Bengal lineup next season, but that isn't guaranteed.

I don't know if any of you all caught it earlier, but in the first half of the Redskins-Cardinals game, Calais Campbell deflected one of Cousins' passes, and the ball went straight up in the air. Campbell thought he was being held and he turns around to start complaining to the ref. In the middle of his bitching, the ball comes down and literally hits him right in the hand. But since he isn't paying attention and is instead whining to the ref, the ball falls on the ground instead of him intercepting it. His one white teammate that was on the field started yelling at him for being such an idiot. It was quality TNB.
Who was the white teammate? We all know Arizona doesnt usually have many white defenders.
