The Rams return to Los Angeles with just 4 White starters, but 17 Whites on the roster, an above average amount.

The organization traded a ton of draft picks to move up to take Jared Goff to be their franchise quarterback. Goff has reportedly had a slow start, which has inspired panic among the DWF hordes who play fantasy football, who are now beginning to declare him a bust before he’s even started a regular season game. Goff has excellent size at 6’ 4” and has all the physical and mental traits needed to succeed. It may take a little time, but that’s true of all rookie quarterbacks when they first become starters.

Case Keenum will start until Goff is ready. The third stringer is Sean Mannion, drafted last year out of Oregon State.

When the Rams were the “greatest show on turf” they always had four White starters protecting Curt Warner and opening lanes for Marshall Faulk. As the team declined into a long period of bottom feeding, it turned to a series of highly hyped sumos who kept flopping. They open the 2016 season with Tim Barnes as the starting center and Cody Wichmann at left guard. Wichmann is in his second season out of Fresno State; Barnes is a five-year veteran.

Rob Havenstein, Pace Murphy, and Andrew Donnal are the White o-line backups.

Scrub-level talents Lance Kendricks and Cory Harkey are currently listed as the starters at tight end, but it’s only a matter of time before talented rookie Tyler Higbee surpasses them. Higbee has a decent chance of playing a lot in his first season and could be one of the rare rookie TEs to put up quality numbers right from the get-go.

Nelson Spruce, the record setting Colorado receiver, made the roster despite not being drafted and being injured for much of training camp. He’s a major talent who will be a very solid NFL receiver if given the chance. It would be nice down the line to see Higbee and Spruce both become major targets for Goff. As is the case with the offensive line, the Rams have wasted draft picks on several highly touted black wide receivers in recent years, and none has met expectations.

Chase Reynolds is listed as a running back, but has not been allowed to touch the ball a single time during a regular season game as he’s used strictly as a WSTD.

Cody Davis, in his fourth year out of Texas Tech, is the starting free safety. He’ll need to play flawlessly to avoid becoming the scapegoat for any and all defensive shortcomings on the Rams.

Bryce Hager out of Baylor has starter level ability but for now is the second string MLB behind Alec Ogletree, who is a good one.

Matt Longacre, in his second season from Northwest Missouri State, is a third string end.

TE Bryce Williams (out of East Carolina) and DE Morgan Fox (Colorado State-Pueblo) made the practice squad.

Starters:
QB Case Keenum
LG Cody Wichmann
C Tim Barnes
S Cody Davis

Number of White players on 53 man roster: 17

Grade: D

Jared Goff is still just 21 years old. I've read a bunch of articles lately already calling him a bust, written by the usual know-nothings.

There's nothing wrong with bringing Goff around slowly instead of throwing him into the fire before he's ready. David Carr and Tim Couch were damaged by starting too soon and having to play behind atrocious offensive lines. Same with Blaine Gabbert, who appears to be salvaging his career after being written off by DWF Nation. By contrast, Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench for four years before he started.

This article gives a pretty good update on Goff, who may well start at some point this season, especially if the Rams fall out contention, which seems likely.

Rams encouraged by Jared Goff's progress

Since being selected with the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, it has not been anywhere near what Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff would have expected through the first two weeks of his rookie year as he has yet to take the field.

All of this came about due to the 21-year-old not showing nearly enough progress in the preseason to warrant the Rams' coaching staff to commit to giving him the starting job over Case Keenum. Some struggles were expected given the lack of experience he has playing under center all through his collegiate career.

However, he clearly demonstrated that he was not ready yet to handle the responsibilities that come with being a starting quarterback in the NFL as he completed 22 of 49 passes for 232 yards with two touchdowns, two interceptions, two fumbles, and was sacked four times in the preseason. That said, it appears that Goff is making strides other areas aside from the playing field in practice that has given Rams offensive coordinator Rob Boras reason to be hopeful.

"He’s getting the scout team reps, he’s getting reps with the offense. It’s as much the classroom as it is out here on the field," Boras said. "Through your experience of coaching and just being around football, you have to trust what you’re seeing and how fast his feet are moving and his brain is processing information. We all recognize that it isn’t game reps and game speed, but these are still reps against a really good defense that he’s practicing against – you just have to trust it that way."

His progress in his film study of the previous games is something that has also become quite noticeable to head coach Jeff Fisher.

"That’s a collective feeling," Fisher said. "We feel good about where he’s at.”

Although he has yet to touch the field in a regular season game, Goff has seen his role on the team steadily increase over that span. He went from being a healthy inactive as the third-string quarterback in the season opener to being named the backup against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. It quite evident that the Rams are trying to bring him along steadily with the plan to play him at some point this season if he proves that he's ready.

In the meantime, Los Angeles has continued to see Goff progress toward meeting their aspirations of him becoming the quarterback of the future for the franchise.

“It’s definitely going in the right direction – without a doubt,' Boras said. "He’s accepting everything, he’s going the right way. It’s fun to see the maturation process right there."

I really like the pragmatic approach they are taking with Goff. Honestly I would like if he just took a redshirt season this year - he can master the offense, get bigger and adjust to the nuances of the game. Could you imagine if Goff had the game Anyus Winston had last week? He would of been the target of the week - been labeled a bust and mocked nationally. Anus on the other hand seems to get a free pass. I have not heard or read any stinging criticism of his terrible game.

What a genuinely shitty team, all around. The Rams should have to pay fans and advertisers back for their performance.

Jeff Fisher received a two-year extension the other day. He's been washed up as a head coach for at least a decade but for some reason the Rams' front office just loves the crap teams he fields year after year.

Fisher is comically clueless. Just last week, when discussing the players on the Patriot offense during a radio interview, Fisher mentioned Danny Woodhead as one of the RB's on the Patriots. Yes, the same Danny Woodhead who has been with San Diego for 3 years and is on IR. The gaffe...

“I’ve been impressed with Brandon and what he’s done out of the backfield. You’ve got to deal with him, in addition to Danny. You’ve got playmakers all around, so we have to play sound defense.”

He later clarified that he actually meant Danny Amendola, who is a 4th string WR.

Also, who is "Brandon?" Brandon Bolden? He's 4th on the depth chart in NE and has tallied exactly 1 rushing attempt for 4 yards this season.

Fisher has purged the Rams of all their white defenders and is actively attempting to replace the few white OL with sumos. I will give him credit for signing TE Tyler Higbee.

Fisher finally gets canned in a move that has been long overdue. Even Rotoworld doesn't hold back on how absurdly awful Jeff Fisher was as a coach:

In a cruel, ironic twist for the NFL's pre-eminent loser, the firing comes three days before he was set to pass Dan Reeves for the most coaching losses in league history. Fisher is so inept he can't even claim the record that's been his destiny for over a decade. The firing is perhaps the most justified of the modern era. Fisher has had five years to turn around a laughingstock franchise, but instead made it an even bigger joke. Fisher's team had truly made zero progress on his first year in 2012. A wanton waster of draft picks and capital, Fisher is clueless on Sundays, fundamentally misunderstanding offense and overseeing a cavalcade of idiotic penalties. Fisher doesn't make adjustments, aside from usually dialing up more personal fouls in the second half. Try as he may, he never came close to "cleaning up" his chronic, myriad, inexcusable mistakes. No coach, in any sport anywhere in the world, makes more excuses. Fisher has almost certainly coached his final NFL game.

Fisher was a solid head coach back with the titans in the 90s - 00s. When he was successful he relied on a strong defense and running game. I always disliked him as the titans head coach because I was never a black quarterback fan even as a kid when they had Steve McNair. Problem is that Fisher tried to implement the same philosophy with current players in an era where fundamentals, skill and ability all play second fiddle to physical measurables moreso than football ability.

No fan of Fisher, but it looks like HOF RB Dickerson was instrumental in getting Fisher axed.

By the way it looks like Cody Davis' racial apprenticeship has continued as he only has 7 tackles on the year. Really unfortunate because athletically he reminds me a lot of Chris Conte who has resurrected his career in Tampa after being caste aside in shitcago.

Fisher reminds me of a middle manager who's department sales have been flagging for years but is great at schmoozing with supervisors and his bosses ignore the numbers. If Fisher can hang around this long being below 500, Does Marvin Lewis have a job for life ?

Here's another reason why team shouldn't discriminate against White receivers, who would dominate just as much as if not more than do White tight ends these days if given fair opportunity. The Rams' receivers have sucked for a long time now, yet disrespected the team's rookie White quarterback. The Caste System rewards black incompetence and entitlement:

Did Los Angeles Rams Wide Receivers Not Respect Jared Goff in 2016?

by Dan Parzych

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, it appears there was a
lack of respect for Goff from some of his wide receivers, which would explain some of his struggles when taking a closer look at performances towards the end of the season. What’s even more troubling is the part of the report where Cole discusses how Goff tried to organize a workout on an off day, only to see the wide receivers fail to show up.

Either way, after the offense ranked at the bottom of the league in 2016 by only averaging 14 points per game, it’s clear Los Angeles needs some sort of change on offense if Goff is going to have any chance of succeeding in his sophomore season. Even if Kenny Britt became the team’s first 1,000-yard receiver since 2007 this past season, it’s still unclear whether he’ll be back next year since the wideout is scheduled to become a free agent.

As for the rest of the receiving corps, Tavon Austin better figure out a way to make more of an impact when considering how quickly he’s become one of the league’s most overpaid players after finally breaking the 500-yard mark in receiving for the first time in four years last year. The Rams were already considered a mess on offense before, but this developing issue with the wide receivers takes things to a whole new level for Goff and company.

With that being said, just because there were issues with the wide receivers during the 2016 season when Goff took over to start the final seven games doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed over the next couple of months. If anything, this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Los Angeles, as this will hopefully improve Goff’s skills from a leadership perspective.

For those who are fans of "The Price is Right," Rams defensive back Cody Davis appeared on Friday's episode.

Davis is an athletic freak from Texas Tech.. Another guy that should have been a starting FS years ago in a fair NFL but has instead been limited to a white special teams demon role! Sure you know this already so really no need for my rant.

I think Davis is a free agent this year. He would be a good pickup for a safety needy team.

He's a good enough athlete that he might even be able to play cornerback, that is, if the NFL allowed white men to play cornerback.

Agreed he ran a 4.38 at his pro day and 35in+ vertical. Most of our safety prospects could easily play CB if given the chance.
