BYU vs Harvard right now. Go Cougars! Harvard's negro HC has successfully recruited more bruthas to the Ivy League school and suddenly Harvard is a media darling. Funny how that works.

Fischer shot lights out yesterday; he finished with a tournament record 41 points!!! Too bad he couldn't hit anything against Harvard in their first game. BYU will be getting another very white squad - Northern Iowa, in the consolation championship Christmas day.

I wish more CFers would be interested in college hoops; there's actually a lot of great white players. You just have to know which teams to watch!

Harvard isn't too bad this year, especially compared with the last few version's of Amaker's squad; they have two white starters and play a few white guys off the bench. A quick check of the box score from their game against Auburn shows that out of their mostly 7 man rotation, 4 of the guys are white, and they all played 19 minutes or more! I'm hoping they knock off No. 3 Oklahoma in the title game. The Sooners are nearly all black, but pretty good. Their best post player (and only white starter/contributor is Gonzaga transfer Ryan Spangler.

A couple more notes from last night:

Kyle Wiltjer scored 26 and Domantas Sabonis had 15 points and 13 boards as Gonzaga destroyed Loyola Marymount.

St. Mary's improved to 10-1 on the year as they blew out Santa Clara 81-59, with Evan Fitzner leading the Gaels with 21 points, and Dane Pineau contributed 14 points and 10 boards. St. Mary's has been playing great this year, with their only loss coming to a good Cal team on the road. I think they could be a challenger to Gonzaga this year in the WCC. I would like BYU to be as well, but they're too inconsistent to be that challenger right now.

JL, keep up the good work. I don't often reply to your College BB posts but I follow them. I am not a huge basketball fan but when I decide to check out a game I go by the information you provide.

Thanks guys!! I'll keep making posts if I can find the time!

We have some games tonight if some CF users have time to watch:

Wisconsin plays host to #14 Purdue at 7 Eastern on the Big Ten Network.

#1 Michigan State will be playing Iowa at 9 on the Big Ten Network. If you can, watch this one. Iowa has a lot of great white players, led by their electric forward Jarrod Uthoff.

Notre Dame (3 white players in their 7 man rotation) play at 5 PM on ESPNU.

A couple of good results for us the last couple of days:

Monmouth, the Cinderella team that the media is talking about this year, lost 91-84 to Army, which has an all-white starting five and a couple of big time scorers. Tanner Plomb scored 27 and Kyle Wilson got 21 for the Black Knights. Plomb averages nearly 22 PPG, and Wilson averages over 18. Hopefully, they're the Patriot League representatives in the Big Dance this year.

Duke blew out Elon in their last warmup before ACC play begins. Grayson Allen had 17 points and 5 assists, Marshall Plumlee had a double double with 10 points and 11 boards, while Luke Kennard came off the bench for 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Butler also coasted through their last warm-up game before Big East play starts. Andrew Chrabascz had 15 points and 6 boards in the blowout win, while Tyler Lewis dished out 7 assists.

St. Mary's continued their hot start, coasting through their game against Utah Valley. Calvin Hermanson led the Gaels in scoring with 16 points, while Dane Pineau pulled down a double double with 10 points and 15 boards.

No. 1 goes down!! The Hawkeyes used some hot shooting (nearly 50% from the field) to knock off Michigan State 83-70. Granted, the Spartans' best player was out, but it is still a good win for Fran McCaffrey's squad. Senior Point guard Mike Gesell finally played up to expectations last night, leading Iowa with 25 points! He's been very inconsistent throughout his career and is already a senior, but better late than never. He was a monster with his penetration last night, finishing a variety of shots; whenever Iowa needed a basket, Gesell seemed to answer. He also had ice in his veins from the free throw line, going 11/13.

Jarrod Uthoff only scored 10 points, but also had 6 blocks and 5 rebounds! He showed off his amazing athleticism several times last night. This guy has got to be in the NBA after this year. I've even heard several announcers that he should be in the NBA, and they actually mention how athletic he is.

Redshirt freshman walk-on Nicolas Baer also had a nice game for Iowa, with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Strange that a walk-on from Iowa would be playing over several of the freshman "scholarship" athletes that McCaffrey brought in.

For the Spartans, Matt Costello did the best he could to keep Michigan State in the game scoring 17 points and grabbing 7 boards.

Steve Vasturia led Notre Dame past a struggling Liberty squad last night. The vastly underrated guard led the Fighting Irish with 17 points to go with 4 assists and 3 boards. As I mentioned, Vasturia may be the only white starter, but sophomore combo guard Matt Farrell and freshman sniper Matt Ryan come off the bench for 10-20 minutes per game.

One team that nobody is talking about is George Washington. They have quietly been playing some great basketball this year. One of the reasons for that is Wake Forest transfer Tyler Cavanaugh, who's been a huge presence inside for the Colonials. Last night, George Washington destroyed UCF 67-50. Cavanaugh had 11 points and 8 boards, while senior wing Patricio Garino led the Colonials with 17 points.

One guy that might not receive any attention is Kyle Hittle. That's probably because he plays for Incarnate Word, a program still making it's transition to a Division 1 level. That doesn't mean he's not a baller, though. Last night in their win against Rice, Hittle had a game-high 31 points, while also grabbing 8 rebounds. Running mate Mitchell Badillo had 14 points and 7 assists. On the season, Hittle is averaging 16 points and 6 rebounds per game. While Badillo is only averaging 8 PPG, he also averages over 5 assists and has a 2.46 assist to turnover ratio!! Talk about efficient.

A couple of another notes from last night: Wisconsin may have lost, but it looks like freshman forward Alex Illikainen is starting to emerge as a good role player off the bench for the Badgers. Last night, he scored 10 points in just 11 minutes off the bench!

Another team that has been playing some good basketball this year is William & Mary. The Tribe has four white starters this year, and they have a good shot to win the Colonial Athletic Association and get into the Big Dance. Their signature win on the year is an upset of NC State in their opener, and they've also beaten a MAC favorite in Central Michigan. The best player on the team is 6-7 guard/forward Omar Prewitt, who leads the team at nearly 18 PPG, and is 2nd on the team in rebounding at 6 per game. Go Tribe!!

New Year's Eve is sure to have a TON of great college basketball on. I will try to have a list for CF users to watch up tonight sometime.

And finally, here are a few pictures of our guys:

I have a little extra time, and there's some good college basketball games on today, so I figured I'd make a quick list for today and tomorrow of the games where our guys will be on TV.

Michigan and deadly sharpshooter Duncan Robinson will be playing Illinois at 3 Eastern on ESPN2.

Bryant McIntosh and Northwestern will be playing Nebraska on ESPNU at 4.

Duke will be playing at 4 on the Fox Sports regional channel.

Marquette (with their Top 5 front court, consisting of Luke Fischer and Henry Ellenson) will be playing Seton Hall at 7 Eastern on fox sports 1.

Trevor Cooney and Syracuse will be playing Pitt at 9 on ESPN2.

Thursday

#9 Butler will be hosting Providence at 2:30 Eastern on the CBS Sports Network.

Creighton will visit St. John's at 2 on Fox Sports 1.

Drake will be taking on Wichita State on ESPNU at 2.

BYU will be playing at St. Mary's at 11 PM Eastern on ESPNU. Be sure to watch: this game should feature 10 white starters!

Bryce Alford is the real deal. Started game 0-11 came back late to collect 26 points led his team to double OT but Bruins fell short!

After knocking off #1 Michigan State, Iowa looks to now beat #14 Purdue. The game just started and should be a good one. Purdue starts talented big man Haas and has Dakota Mathais off the bench. Jarrod Uthoff is 6th in the country with 3.2 blocks per game and has come out of the gates on fire. Uthoff has 11 of Iowa's first 13 points.

In Duke's win, Grayson Allen had 17 points on efficient shooting as well as 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Luke Kennard chipped in 17 as well off the bench. Duke is a blast to watch again.

Matt Costello has been a beast this year for Michigan State. He had 17 points, 15 boards and 2 blocks in a close game today. Freshman Matt McQuaid played 30 minutes but only took 2 shots. He needs to be more aggressive.

I didn't realize until just now that the Hawkeyes came back to pull off the upset. Uthoff had 25 points and 5 blocks. Both Iowa and Jarrod are going to have to start receiving national attention after the week they've had. I'd say the Big10 Player of the Year will come down to Jarrod and Denzel Valentine.

I've been pretty busy lately, but when I've time to post, I will.

Great night of basketball for our guys!! I watched a couple of games tonight, and was impressed.

Michigan pulled off the upset of #3 Maryland 70-67. Without "star" Caris LeVert playing, the Wolverines are a lot more fun to watch all-around. It showed tonight, with great play from Walton, Robinson, Irvin, and Donnal in the win. Robinson finished 2nd on the team in scoring with 17 points, and Donnal was very important down low, finishing with 8 points and 9 boards. I'm hoping Donnal keeps developing into the post presence the Michigan needs.

Meanwhile, Jake Layman helped keep the Terps around until the end, finishing with 18 points and 10 boards.

Tyler Cavanaugh is turning into a great player for the George Washington Colonials. Tonight against UMass, he finished with a game high 26 points to go with 5 boards. Patricio Garino chipped in 17 points. Off the bench, Alex Mitola finished with 11 points and 7 assists.

Bryant McIntosh is one of the most underrated guards in the country. Tonight, he put up 28 points, 5 assists, and 4 boards as Northwestern held off Wisconsin 70-65.

In another big performance, Stephen F. Austin's Thomas Walkup had 32 points tonight to help the Lumberjacks beat Central Arkansas.

I've posted about him before, but Evansville center Egidijus Mockevicius is one of the best players in the country. He averages a double double, and lived up to that tonight as the Purple Aces pounded Drake. He finished with 21 points and 12 boards. Mislav Brzoja added 15 and 5 off the bench.

Arkansas' Dusty Hannahs has moved into the starting lineup for the Razorbacks. He's continued his good season by scoring 20 tonight in the Hogs' blowout win against Mizzou.

Last but not least, Vanderbilt's 7'1 big man Luke Kornet got a triple-double tonight, with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks!!! Great game for him! I'm still curious as to how he managed to over-achieve his way into a triple-double against Bruce Pearl's supermen at Auburn...

Here are some games the next couple of nights to catch...

7 Eastern: Grayson Allen, a suddenly scoring Marshall Plumlee, Luke Kennard, and Duke play Clemson.

8:30: Marquette's front court duo of Henry Ellenson and Luke Fischer take on Ryan Arcidiancano and Villanova.

11: USC (2 white starters) takes on Bryce Alford, Thomas Welsh, and UCLA

Thursday: 7 Eastern: Iowa travels to Michigan State to take on the Spartans.

9 Eastern: BYU and Gonzaga play on ESPN2.. a must-watch for CFers.

11 Eastern: All-white St. Mary's takes on nearly all-black Pacific on ESPNU

Stanford (3 white starters) takes on all-black Cal on FS1

A few more great results from our guys tonight thus far!! It's been a GREAT week of basketball for our college players.

For starters: Iowa blows out #4 Michigan State 76-59 in East Lansing!! The Spartans have two losses, and they're both to the Hawkeyes!! Iowa remains undefeated in Big 10 play.

Jarrod Uthoff had 15 and 10 in the win. Fun fact: Uthoff is 2nd in the NCAA with 3.3 blocks per game!! This guy needs to be in the NBA!! He's just too good.

Meanwhile, the Spartans' Matt Costello had 15 and 9 in the loss.

Kaleb Tarczewski had a strong outing, with 16 points and 13 boards in the Wildcats' demolition of previously undefeated in the Pac-12 Washington. They won 99-67.

In a thriller, BYU upsets Gonzaga 69-68 in the Kennel! Kyle Wiltjer gave a superhuman effort with 35 points, but it wasn't enough, as is nearly all-black group of guards is absolutely terrible. BYU was basically daring the Zag guards to beat them, and they couldn't. Meanwhile, Kyle Collinsworth had a team high 20 points, while Chase Fischer added 18 in BYU's come from behind win. Nate Austin also had 3 HUGE blocks down the stretch, including one on Wiltjer that preserved the win.

All-white St. Mary's is putting on a show thus far, up 28-13 on Pacific midway through the 1st half!

Great updates. College football and basketball are alot more fun to watch than the nfl and nba in my opinion. I think more here should give it a chance. A huge win by Iowa. Really impressed by the Hawkeyes. Byu, Gonzaga & AZ always seem to be among the top 25 teams in the nation. I enjoy watching Butler, Wisconsin and many other teams too. Keep up the great work on these fantastic writeups. It's really good for people who work alot.

Freshman redshirt Ethan Happ is averaging 17 and 8 over his last five games. Coincidentally it looks like Wisconsin has turned the corner this season with win over IU last night!

In CBS sports writer Gary Parrish's latest article, ranking his top 25 and 1 teams in college hoops, he has Iowa as number 1! It's been a great season for the Hawkeyes as they've been able to exceed everyone's expectations for them. If they can win the Big10 and finish top 3-5 at the end of the year nationally, Jarrod Uthoff would have to be a front runner for PotY.

Yesterday Duke beat NC State 88-80, with Grayson Allen scoring 28, Kennard coming off the bench with 26, and Plumlee chipping in 7. So White players scored 61 of Duke's 88 points. For the year Allen is averaging 20.6 ppg, Kennard 11.9 and Plumlee 8.2.

It's great to be able to root for the Blue Devils again!

Hey guys! Glad to be back! I've been pretty busy lately, but I've still been paying attention to sports when I've had the chance.

It's been a great year so far for white college basketball players! We've had a lot of great games over the past month or so.

As Riggins alluded to, it's awesome seeing Duke playing white guys again! I'm hoping they got hot at the right time and make a long tourney run.

Before the Super Bowl today, Iowa easily took care of Illinois, 77-65. Jarrod Uthoff had 18 and 12, while Woodbury had 10 and 14. This team is unselfish and plays a fun brand of basketball!! If you haven't seen Iowa play, make it a point to watch them!

In another big win, the George Washington Colonials snapped VCU's 12-game winning streak!! Wing Patricio Garino scored 27 in the upset.

A guy that's been playing some VERY good basketball lately is Michigan State's Matt Costello. He's had some impressive stat lines recently, and finished with 14 and 8 against Michigan Saturday.

On another note, Kentucky's Derek Willis has emerged as a starter for the Wildcats, and is actually playing upwards of 25 minutes per game most of the time. He had 12 and 6 on Saturday.

Notre Dame knocked off No.2 North Carolina in South Bend Saturday. Steve Vasturia had 13 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds in the 80-76 victory. Also of note, combo guard Rex Pflueger played 20 minutes off the bench.

Keith Hornsby had 25 for LSU as they beat Mississippi State.

Domantas Sabonis and Kyle Wiltjer continue to carry Gonzaga through the WCC, with Sabonis leading the Zags with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Wiltjer chipped in 17. I hope both St. Mary's and Gonzaga make it to the dance! BYU will have to win the WCC tourney to get in now, as they dropped a home game to Pacific!! They're fun to watch, but their lack of defense always comes back to haunt them when shots aren't falling for Fischer and Co. on the outside.

In some good news, Louisville banned itself from postseason play!! One more all-black team that won't be making it in the dance. As with Larry Brown and SMU, Pitino and co. won't be missed.

With less than a month towards March Madness, and with the NFL over, I'd like to try and start posting a bit more often again, to help keep CF readers informed of teams in the NCAA to root for. I'll give a quick rundown of some key games the last few days.

Monday

Duke got a MUCH needed win over Louisville Monday night at home, 72-65. All three of Duke's white players were instrumental in the win, with Grayson Allen scoring a game high 19 points, Luke Kennard coming off the bench for 11, and Marshall Plumlee scoring 10, while also pulling down 8 boards.

Wofford's Fletcher Magee exploded for 34 points in the Terrier's easy win over VMI.

He may now be Stephen F. Austin's lone white contributor, but Senior forward Thomas Walkup is BY FAR the best player on his team, and the best player in the Southland Conference. He proved it again by going for 30 points and 10 rebounds as the Lumberjacks crushed Northwestern State.

Tuesday

Ron Baker led Wichita State to an easy win over Drake. He had 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Wednesday

Butler got a huge win against all-black Seton Hall tonight, putting them back in on the right side of the bubble. Kellen Dunham had 18 points, while Andrew Chrabascz chipped in 11.

Marquette won a double OT thriller against Providence 96-91. Henry Ellenson continues to play like a future lottery pick. He had another monster game tonight, with 26 points and 16 boards. I'd love to see the Golden Eagles in the Big Dance!!

Wisconsin wins again!! They're slowly playing their way back into tourney contention. They beat Nebraska 72-61. Bronson Koenig led the white contingent with 12 points, while Zak Showalter chipped in 10 points and 5 boards.

It was a beatdown last night in Portland!! It looks like Portland has tried to recruit more "explosive" athletes, and well, it's made them even worse than they have been. Unfortunately, these explosive specimens weren't able to keep up with the best two players, by far, in the WCC, as Kyle Wiljter and Domantas Sabonis led the in a 92-66 win. Wiltjer led the way with 21 points and 8 boards. Sabonis had another double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Dranginis has been playing well as of late, and kept it going with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

I hope some were watching the Duke/UNC game tonight.. if you did, you weren't disappointed. Duke won in a thriller over the all-black Tar Heels!! In a game where the Blue Devils were reduced to playing 5 guys (Allen, Kennard, Plumlee, Ingram, and Thornton) the entire 2nd half, they fought their way to a victory. Marshall Plumlee played the last 11+ minutes of the game with 4 fouls. Jay Bilas praised Plumlee the entire night as well, saying how he expected Plumlee to start and contribute at Duke, and how great of an athlete he was. Every time UNC threatened to blow the game open in the 2nd half, Allen and Ingram fought the Blue Devils back into contention. Allen finished with 23 points, Ingram had 20. Luke had 15 as well, including a 3 with about 2 minutes left to put Duke ahead for the first time in the 2nd half. Marshall Plumlee had 11 points and 7 boards, but played some outstanding defense, especially when he had 4 fouls. Great win for Duke!

Go Blue Devils; it's great to be able to root for Duke again!
