Schweinsteiger was an instant upgrade over Sami Khedira, who looked really slow out there today. Germany immediately looked way better on the attack when Schweinsteiger and Klose came in.

The German defense looked really slow out there today... Hummels was about the only defender who played great; Howedes didn't do too bad either.

Exactly, it starts right at the beginning with their stone cold faces during the national anthem and goes from there. Germany has 11 quality natives who can and should start, but Loew must maintain those racial quotas, I suppose.

Germany does have a bit of a history of laying an egg at least once during group stage, and let's hope this was it. Otherwise, as Westside said, God help us because two of our favorites (Germany and Argentina) did not look good today against sub-par competition. Meanwhile those Central and Northern SA teams are playing care-free and quality futbol and it could get really ugly in elimination rounds if our teams don't step it up.

ghana really is the best african team
they fight and they don't look like mercenaries like the cameroon players
obviously they are very amateurish at times but they can produce something offensively ,unlike the other african teams
germany's defence was at fault on the second goal though
i hope it won't happen too much

Great to see Klose tie with the Mulatto Ronaldo on 15 goals for all time World Cup goalscorers. When Boateng and Khedira were subbed, Germany were nearly all-White for the first time in a while. All they need to do is get rid of the overrated Turk Ozil and I would make them joint favourites with Argentina.

What do people think of Bosnia? They all seem to be pretty much Nordic to me, but they are Muslim, it makes you think what is ultimately more important? race or culture? I would personally always go along with the principle that nationality is what people think they are, but race is what people really are... Blood is thicker than water

We've been counting the Bosnians as white here... speaking of which, they're in a real Caste battle with Nigeria at the moment.

I'm a little confused as to how we are counting white players here so if someone could clear things up it would be greatly appreciated.

Are we counting albanians as white? Some of them, such as Shaquiri and the guy who came on for Germany today look clearly white while others (xhaka) don't.

Also if we are counting all argentinians as white then why not Ozil as well? To me just going by the eye test Ozil looks much whiter then the majority of argentinian players.

Also what of Clint Dempsey? He clearly looks half mexican to me but I;ve heard people counting him as well...

Either way, go Germany and Italy!

not all argentineans are counted as white, romero is a typical paraguayan name and since he looks paraguayan i count him as paraguayan, mestizo
same for rojo the fullback

ozil doesn't really looks white to me, but he is counted as arab/turk, those who want to consider arabs/turks as white just have to include them as whites

yes like i already said aguero and di maria are the ones that are questionable
but dimaria has an italian name, from sicily
people from sicily often have an exotic look
aguero is perhaps of paraguayan origin (there are pictures of him as a child wearing a jersey of a paraguayan club) but he said he wore the jersey because of his neighbours
so until he says something about a foreign origin he's white for me

The referee clearly made an incorrect call to disallow Dzeko's goal in the BiH-Nigeria match. Video replay proves Dzeko was onside and the goal should have counted. Pardon the language but the referee really Fcuking blew it. Even people who aren't Bosnian have said the call was obviously wrong. Heartbreaking for Dzeko to hit the post in injury time as well. Nigeria deserves credit for their pace and their keeper Enyeama played great but they got lucky with the referee.

One thing I've noticed in this world cup is that the referee's have been helping African teams. In today's match, between Bosnia-Herzegovina VS Nigeria, the ref incorrectly disallowed a BiH goal and helped the Africans win. In the Mexico-Cameroon match the referee incorrectly disallowed arguably 2 of Mexico's goals to help the Africans. In the Croatia-Cameroon match Mandzukic was headbutted by a black and no card was given. Must be all that anti-racism FIFA preaches.
