1st Team All American WR Lee Kurfis of Lehigh (6'2", 190lbs, 4.55) gets a minicamp "tryout" with the Cowgirls.

Maybe if he were 6'6" 250lbs and ran a 3.9 40 he could actually get an undrafted free agent deal. :noidea:

The media is pretty predictable. Already a non-stop campaign to not let Johnny manziel on the field. Similar to how Tebow was treated. Teddy Bridgewater on the other hand is being gifted the starting job over the popular Matt Cassell. Viking fans were sold on Cassell as he preformed well last year for a bad team. However, political correctness trumps all.

Yes, I think most of us knew that Manziel would receive the Tebow treatment when coming into the league. Honestly, I do believe it is better to sit a QB for a year to learn the nuances of the game. Manziel has all the talent in the world and I think adjusting to the game, getting plenty of reps and playing time in preseason will get him ready better than throwing him out there. Hoyer is a solid option and played really well last year prior to getting injured. Black QBs are treated way differently and given every excuse and chance to succeed (- see Geno Smiff/EJ Manuel) so I would rather Manziel sit and adjust to the NFL rather than be written off if he does not play well right away. The same could be said for Ponder and Gabbert.

"Start acting like a back-up"? that owner needs to tone it down....no wonder the Browns are perennial losers!

This could be a blessing in disguise for Johnny Football....WR's Josh Gordon(NFL Leader in Receiving Yards) could be suspended for the entire season for smokin' spliff....Nate Burleson is injured and questionable on return & Greg Little is NO WHERE NEAR a "#1 Go-To WR" + the lowly Browns did not Draft any WR's....almost like they want to fail! But on the flip side this should open the door for Connor Vernon to prove he is a legit WR & Josh Cooper get more chances as well.

So let Manziel sit and watch the carnage unfold this season if that's what indeed happens! The crazed Cleveland fans will demand Manziel to play just in time for Gordon to return....this is not a stab at Hoyer who played well before the injury...

A Case for a "Double Standard" is being made....The Jets & Bills better get a defense like the Seadderall Seawaks...or face the fact they will be staying home in the playoffs!

****
It's becoming clear......Colt Lyerla looks to have crossed the line w his knock on the Conspiracy Theories/Truth's a while back....this has manifest itself into this! Same thing/reason RB-Reshard Mendenhall spoke up about some off-limit controversial events; and is now out of the league...Maybe Colt can land in Canada? Tolerance is a one way street in the NFL!

The root culprits?? Scout; Rivals; 24/7 etc are the recruiting services that need to be addressed! There Top 100 List are worse than the NFL Draft!!

Let's see. You draft a promising and popular young quarterback in the first round. The fans love it. Ticket sales go up.

Then, when the draft is barely over, the owner publicly tells your young quarterback to "act like a backup."

This is bizarre.

And how do you go about "acting like a backup?" What do you do or say? Do you publicly proclaim "I'm a backup?" What?

Bizarre.

If it was really about qb competition I think it would have been more appropriate to say be prepared to earn the starting job, not "act like the backup", nobody wants their qb, the guy who is going to lead their team, to act iike a backup. They should aspire to start and lead the team, not be a Jim Sorgi type.

I agree; why would the team that just drafted their franchise QB say something like this... Unless this is just some BS from the media...

Just imagine what would happen if Wilf or Zimmer PUBLICLY said such a thing about Bridgewater... Rioting in the streets perhaps? Of course, its a moot point, because we all know Bridgewater will be handed the starting job on a silver platter...

actually we should all be hoping that bridgewater wins the starting job because the Vikings are playing out doors for the next 2 years. With his small hands, weak arm, lack of athleticism, small frame, and low IQ he's going to be exposed very quickly and will easily be one of, if not the worst starting qb in the NFL next season.

I read where former NFL quarterback Chris Simms said that Tom Savage was the best quarterback in the draft.

I think Savage will definitely outplay his draft position at the bottom of the fourth. He has good chances to develop into a quality starter.

I hope you're right, but we were saying the exact same things about sCam, Gremlin, Wilson, et al, and they all had reasonably good rookie years. In contrast, other than Andrew Luck, the recent number of young white QBs haven't had as much success, including Ponder, Gabbert, Locker, and of course Tebow who was run out of the league.

Bigunreal made an interesting point that something happened with sCam. We were all convinced he would be a huge bust, but he has turned into 2nd- tier starter, and quite a few black quarterbacks after him have come in and had some surprising success against all odds. So, it would not surprise me if Bridgewater did the same thing. I'd love to see him turn into another Geno Smiff, but anything is possible.

Nothing should surprise you.
The outcomes are engineered. They don't control the games on a play-by-play basis. But they don't need to. Personnel moves, coaching decisions, and officiating calls league-wide can decide how a season plays out. They can get precisely the matchup they want in the postseason, pitting a particular team's strengths against the opposing team's weakness. They can make anybody they want into a success. And what they want is a long run of negro quarterbacks. Count on it. It's going to happen.
I stopped watching the NFL for good in the middle of last season. Won't ever watch another game. The only reason I tuned in to the draft is because there are still college players involved in that. The NFL, though, has less credibility than the WWE.

I'm in 100% agreement with your post, Riddlewire. I just didn't know how to put it into words. I appreciate how you nailed it spot on. These League people/controllers are smart, I'll give 'em that. They know just exactly what they are doing in every facet of their snake-like wisdom. After all, it is paying off for them in the billions, mostly by DWFs.

I stopped watching just before the Super Bowl, and didn't even watch that since I was at work that day, and was off once it was any contest in the second half.

I am truly done. It is a fixed League/Game in many ways. As I said months ago, I watched the NFL for 50, yep 50 years(!) faithfully, and I told all of you in here at CF I will never watch it and/or follow it at all ever again. I said it and I meant it. It is/was a huge thing to give up, but I'm done, even to support the last few Whites still there. Sorry, just cheer for them on my behalf I guess.

It is a fixed, anti-white, anti-Christian, pro-******, entertainment tool for the NWO. It didn't used to be that but it certainly is now. It is revolting. I am that totally offended by its' deliberate evil intentions. It is that important for me to snub it for good. I have and will...

Regarding Taylor Martinez, it is supposedly some lingering foot injury. What, I thought he was playing rather well the last half of his college season. Now this? WTF.

I agree with this post whole-heartedly and have vowed to do the same. The issue I have is that I do Fantasy Football with a lot of friends so I have followed it for that reason. Otherwise it would be easy to give it up. The NFL is a joke now that it has added the gay agenda to the Caste System.

sCam's had some rough times. He often relies on his team's defense to bail him out. If you look at his stats they're not nearly as good as you'd expect from the starting QB of a team with a 12-4 record.

What we have been saying in previous post!!! Not sure WHY the Browns bothered drafting Manziel...even Bridgewater wanted no part of the Browns!

Herm Edwards: Browns' labeling Johnny Manziel backup 'doesn't make any sense'

The Cleveland Browns are doing a "disservice" to Johnny Manziel by publicly announcing he's a backup, former NFL head coach Herm Edwards told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday.

Edwards said Browns officials are sending the wrong message to their team and fan base by labeling Manziel as Brian Hoyer's understudy before the quarterback competition has even begun.

"We don't know he's a backup. Who said he has to be the backup? If you draft a player to be a backup, why did you draft him?" Edwards asked. "You're drafting a guy because you think he's worthy of being drafted at that spot, but you're also drafting him because you think he can compete.

"If you're going to say, 'This guy's a backup,' — really? That doesn't make any sense to me. It just comes off bad. No one wants to hear that. If you're a fan, you're going, 'He's the backup? Why's he the backup?' "

BROWNS TO MANZIEL: Act like a backup for now

The Browns have sold at least 3,000 season tickets since drafting Manziel with the 22nd pick of the first round last week, and his No. 2 jersey is the top seller among draft picks. But the Browns have made it clear that they intend for Manziel to begin his NFL career behind Hoyer on the depth chart. Cleveland's other quarterbacks are journeyman Tyler Thigpen, signed earlier this month, and undrafted free agent Conner Shaw.

"For me — if it's close — you start the kid. I get that you should try to sit him down like Aaron Rodgers, but that's a different situation," Edwards said, referencing the Green Bay Packers' 2005 first rounder, who sat behind Brett Favre for three years.

"I think Brian Hoyer is a good quarterback. But I think, if it's close, Johnny Manziel – you play him, and you don't worry about it."

Manziel will take his first snaps as a pro Friday in the Browns' rookie minicamp, and he'll do it in private — all part of a plan by his new team to keep Manzielmania in check for now.

Gremlin's year was a complete fluke. He threw nearly half of his touchdowns for the entire season in a 2 game stretch. He's also a great runner. Same thing with sCam and Wilson. They're both well built and great runners. Bridgewater has literally nothing going for him. He's skinny, slow, and stupid. Hopefully Peterson has a bad season too.

Off topic but if they were smart they would decrease Peterson's workload and give Zach Line a good deal of touches, but like we saw with Gerhart, that isn't going to happen, they would rather run Peterson into the ground, at this rate he probably has one above average season left, he is 29 with over 3,000 touches since he started college, lots of wear and tear, all for what? one playoff win where he wasn't a big factor rushing for 60 yards 2.4 ypc a long 11 yards.

on Line from weenieworld:
"Line was placed on I.R. with a September knee injury, but took the opportunity to have his shoulder repaired. A favorite of measurables-based football metrics sites, Line stands 6-foot, 232 and ran 4.65 at his Pro Day. He's been compared to Mike Alstott. Line is a player to monitor during his first full NFL offseason as a potential in-house replacement for free agent Toby Gerhart at No. 2 tailback. Feb 12 -"

but yeah, good chance that Peterson declines this season at age 29

I'm guessing that would be opposed to emotion-based DWF sites.

Yes, the Packers are giving him a tryout.

Lyerla has the talent to succeed.

Now the questions are whether he can put aside his issues and play up to his talent and will Green Bay give him a fair chance.

I'm hoping he maximizes his talent and has a good career.

This is good news! Looking at the packers tight end lineup, he could have a chance to start! Of course lets not get ahead of ourselves, but Quarless has never impressed me..
