We need to post video of these races. Sailer looks unstoppable and Luke has come out of nowhere. Just imagine if he didn't waste a decade of his life as a long jumper when he was meant to be a sprinter all along. The guy is around 30 and he just ran 6.56! Very fast time and only 1/100th of a second slower than Lemaitres p.b. in the 60. Hope he can have a great year.

Verena Sailer arrow quickly and enthusiastically

Verena Sailer could hardly say something to her race, in which she first ran recently in 7.12 seconds over the finish line and stopped her personal best in the mixed zone. "I can not think of anything better than to the event itself," said the German champion.

When the athletes were presented, the light went out almost completely and the sprinters were in a spotlight. "One has to deal with concentration," said Verena Sailer, who was enthusiastic about the event. "It's so hot here. Athletics needs something."

Lucas Jakubczyk sets a new personal best time in the 60 meters!

Behind Lucas Jakubczyk (SCC Berlin) took the other hand, strong momentum for Sopot. He increased his best performance to 6.56 seconds. "It was huge to run in front of 10,000 spectators. This time I hit the start. That was not the case at the German Championships."

Great rejoicing after the B-run: The youngest sat through here. Robert Polkowski (LT DSHS Cologne) ran in 6.78 seconds record time. The 19-year-old U20 European Championship bronze medalist in the 100 meters was among others Alexander Kosenkow (TV Wattenscheid 01; 6.83 sec) and Roy Schmidt (LC Jena; 6.84 sec) behind.

At the Mountain Pacific Championships Australian Steve Solomon of Stanford won the 400m in 46.24.
And Jonathan Cabral set a meet record in the 60m Hurdles - 7.68.
He was followed by Milan Ristic of Cal in 7.74 and Devon Allen the Oregon Freshman in 7.92.
A clean sweep of the hurdle medals!
Jenna Prandini had the 2nd fastest qualifying time in the women's 60m, but didn't run in the finals.
Tom Blocker of Cal came 2nd in the men's 60m running 6.72.
A very good showing on the West Coast. :)

Zach Bilderbach with a win at the Big 12 Championships in the 400m. His time, a very good 46.03. His is only a sophomore at Texas.
Looks like this could be his breakthrough to the top ranks of the collegiate 400m.

I'm surprised how poor Verena's form is. Her arm action is terrible. She definitely has room for improvement there. Also she moved from the right side to the left side of the lane in the race. These small things can be improved upon for better times. Still she won!

I've always said that about Verena jacknyc. Her upper torso and arm swing is like watching a little kid run yet she has the 2nd fastest 60 meters time in the world among women and she also ran 11.01 legal outdoors last summer. She is 29 now though so there is not time to waste. I'm hoping she can repeat as the european womens 100 meter champion again. Verena Sailer like Lemaitre is trying to defend her gold medal at the European Outdoor Championships. I really believe she will and I see her finally going sub 11 this year. In my honest opinion she is a better sprinter overall than Ivet Lalova as far as her success in the big meets even if her p.b. is slower.

On a final note about the Berlin Meet. I love how they turn out the lights for the sprints. Only the sprinters are lit up in the spotlight when they are being introduced with the neon board in the background and the rock music playing. The when they are about to race only the lanes are lit up and the rest of the stadium is dark. It's really cool to watch and it brings more excitement. Why is this the only meet that does this? It's great for the athletes and good for the fans too. I love it!

Kilty just ran 6.53 while turning his head to check on the competition at the finish. He was sub 6.5 if he ran all the way through.

All he has to do is stay healthy now, and he's a lock for sub-10.

Heck, yeah!

Also, young Anita Hinriksdottir set the World Junior Record for the indoor 800, but it won't count, as she was dq'ed for a completely non-existent lane violation.

Following Kilty's amazing heat, Lukas J. and D. Kuc looked to finish 1-2 (and under 6.6) in the next heat.

It'd be nice to see several guys go under 10 this summer.

Pavel Maslak just jogged to first place in his semifinal of the 400. He was glancing back at his competition, all of them way back.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping he takes the gold in the finals.

Fantastic times by all of those guys. We need someone to post some videos of these races. Lightning quick times so far! I want Kilty to go sub 6.50 so bad. I really thought Tumi would last years and he fell just shy of the mark. It would be nice to see 2 or 3 of our guys in the finals of the sprints. It's been a long time since that has happened.

Pavel Maslak just looks so smooth. I love watching this kid run.

Pozzi was the fastest qualifier out of the 60mh heats. Shubenko and others qualified as well.

I don't have time to post all of the links, but I think pretty much all of the races can be seen at either Watchathletics or on youtube.

Unfortunately, I can't find a working live stream this morning. Too bad, as I'm up early anyway.

Richard Kilty--6.52 in the semi-finals! That was the second fastest time. He's a legitimate threat for a medal.

I'm so happy for Richard Kilty. He has busted his a** to get into this type of shape and he deserves some recognition. It's too bad the cheater Chambers also made the final just barely so he will overshadow Richard as far as the stupid media and fans are concerned. Richard Kilty has now run 6.53 three times this season and now a 6.52 in the semi finals. He is putting on a clinic of sprinting! Anything less than a medal would be a be dissapointment but I will be proud of him no matter what happens. Hoping for a 6.47 and a silver or gold in the finals.
Dariusz Kuc and Lucas Jacubzyk both just barely missed the final. So damn close but we do have an asian guy joining Kilty in the final. Here are the results from the semi finals heats.

I'm also pumped to watch the womens 60 meters hurdles finals. The great Sally Pearson has a chance to become only the 2nd lady in the history of the World Indoor Championships to win the gold medal twice. Barring a huge mistake, she should come through. She is just a joy to watch and in my mind she just might be the greatest womens hurdler ever with or without the world record. Come on Sally!

Simply incredible. I cannot believe what my eyes have seen!!!!!

So to any doubters who still say he has no chance at a sub 10 you guys can suck it!! Lmao.

I've said it before. How the hell could they leave this kid off the Olympic Team in 2012 for the Individual Events. It was a slap in the face. Kilty went out there today and showed the world that he is the best sprinter on the planet! I'm in shock. I knew he was capable of medaling but to become the World Indoor Champion is beyond my wildest dreams.

Yes white men can sprint! Richard Kilty is the the world champion! His name will forever be etched in history!

Morne Nagel is still the fastest white sprinter ever over 60 meters but Kilty is only 1/100th away from tieing that record.

Phenomenal performance. Damn I love it!
