This Houston UCF game is terrible. It's amazing how shoddy the product can really be. Houston also benched Conference Freshman Player of the year John O'Korn due to drops from butter fingered receivers for a black quarterback.

It's really weird watching a game to watch a team's defense play, but that's exactly what I'm doing in the Arizona/Oregon game tonight. It'd be cool to see the 'Zona defense do good against Oregon and Mariota.

That sequence is exactly why the "hurry up" has to be legislated out of football. AZ lineman tipped the ball, so no pass interference should have been called. But they threw the flag. Then Oregon snapped the ball on the next play so fast (with the hurry up assist of the refs) that Arizona didn't have time to challenge the play, or even for the booth to look at the play on their own. Ridiculous.
At least it worked out in AZ's favor on the next play with the fumble.

Pac-12 refs protecting their league's national title hopes. Same as every conference.
College football is corrupt. At least it's not a stage play like the NFL.

Not gonna say I'm smarter than Oregon's coach, but they're giving away downs by not having Mariota run more. The middle is open. A lot.

I'm glad to see AZ win. Their defense is a snow squad. Scooby Wright saved the game by ripping it away from Marriota. He was all over the field and he is leading the Pac 12 in tackles! Yet he was only a 2 star recruit. Scouts don't know sh**. Tevis is another player who will be in the NFL along with Scooby and a few others. They are fun to watch on defense. What an upset!

Here's a pleasant surprise, Utah State has been using starting LB Nick Vigil at RB some against BYU tonight!!

you beat me to the punch, Jack.

i just got in from watching the local college basketball team (with a bunch of high-flying White athletes) play a scrimmage, and now i get to enjoy seeing several talented White athletes go at it on ESPN.

the announcers have repeatedly stated that Utah State sophomore linebacker Nick Vigil might be the best athlete on the USU roster. does it surprise anyone here at Caste Football that he was an all-state running back in high school? likely not. at any rate, Vigil, who comes into the game leading the Aggies in tackles (40), solo tackles (22), quarterback hurries (4), forced fumbles (2), and is second on the team with both tackles-for-loss (5.5) and sacks (2) to his brother, senior linebacker Zach Vigil. Nick currently has 4 carries for 20 yards and has looked powerful, agile, and explosive with the ball, in addition to his excellence on defense as a starting outside linebacker.

the older Vigil is tied with Zach with 22 solo tackles, 4 quarterback hurries, and 2 sacks from his middle linebacker spot. Nick also has an interception, which he returned for 35 yards, and leads the team with 6 tackles-for-loss.

the two brothers are the best two defensive players on the roster.

senior safety Brian Suite is also a solid player. he has terrific speed (is a member of the Hawaii state-record-holding 4x100-meter team in high school) and size at 6-foot-3, yet he along with the Vigil brothers are all "somehow" underrated.

****************************

for BYU, Taysom Hill has looked impressive, though he missed a WIDE open Mitch Mathews for a touchdown in the (third drive?) first quarter. he found Mathews in the opening drive of the second quarter for an easy 25-yard score. he also scored on a dynamic 11-yard run on the opening drive of the game.

Glad to see McMahon doing well.
The media has constantly portrayed him as a drooling vegetable for the past decade due to concussions.

Oh, and Utah State is a much better team when they remove the Affletic black quarterback chapter from the playbook and just play normal football with a real QB.

Vigil has looked like a natural at tailback for Utah State, flashing power, vision, speed, and balance. one "wonders" why he's never been considered for the job of tailback until tonight …

in bad news, Taysom Hill just went down with an apparent ankle injury. it doesn't look good for the fantastic dual-threat quarterback. he was tackled by the aforementioned Suite, who showed tremendous closing speed to make the tackle in the open field.

in afflete news, the defensive blacks at corner for BYU have repeatedly gotten roasted by the "back-up" sophomore quarterback for Utah State. he's now thrown for 3 touchdowns and run for 1 more. in the first half. not bad for an over-achieving, blue collar, deep-in-his-playbook gym rat. fortunately, Darrell Garretson brought his lunch pail to the game.

The black quarterback lovers are rejoicing tonight. This loss, even though it wasn't Hill's fault, absolutely ends his Heisman chances. Since he was one of the few (two?) white players in the country who had a chance at the award this year, another black quarterback Heisman winner is probably a lock.

Another season down the crapper. Hill fracturing a leg pretty much ruins the season and eliminates any hope for a white dark horse. If Stanford loses tomorrow, I'll be strictly waiting for the NHL and college basketball season to start.

The Angels are probably going to get bounced out of the playoffs as well. Nothing is going right.

damn man BYU was pretty much the only team I specifically paid attention to its not quite the same without Hill, although I stayed up to see Vigil get carries for Utah State.

That really sucks that Hill fractured his leg. He was alot of fun to watch and a heisman candidate.

after the Dark Ages with Ron Zook at the helm, it's bizarre to see Illinois with White playmakers on both sides of the ball. their most explosive offensive player is likely freshman wideout Mike Dudek. already in today's game against Purdue, Dudek has 2 catches for 77 yards.

"strangely," Dudek had only one FBS scholarship offer coming out of high school. this, despite having a 3-star rating at 5-foot-11, putting up record-setting, video game numbers in high school, and running (according to his position coach at Illinois) the fastest 40 of the 3,000 kids the Illini evaluated that year. "weird," huh?

at quarterback (not black quarterback), Oklahoma State sophomore transfer Wes Lunt has played VERY well. he's averaging over 300 yards-per-game through the air, and he's thrown 11 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions through 5 games.

defensively, their best player is sophomore safety Taylor Barton. Barton leads the team in solo tackles (26) and total tackles (54), has 1 forced fumble, 2 passes defensed, and has 1 interception which he returned 77 yards for a touchdown: http://www.btn2go.com/video/western-kentucky-at-illinois--football-highlights

sophomore linebacker-turned-two-way standout Nick Vigil ran for a team-high 57 yards and 1 touchdown in last night's game against BYU. it was the first time Vigil had ran the ball since his record-setting, award-winning high school career came to a close. he also had a team-high 7 solo tackles and a team-high 9 total tackles.

but perhaps his future is as a ball carrier …

Speaking of LB's, RS Sophomore LB Richie Brown for Mississippi State "inexplicably" doesn't start, but he's just picked off Texas A&M hype job Kenny Hill on two consecutive possessions!!

even the black commentator for the Purdue-Illinois game is repeatedly commenting on the large numbers of dropped passes in this game. all by the explosively affletic, game-breaking, room-brightening variety, of course.

conversely, Dudek (for Illinois) and Anthrop (for Purdue) are looking explosive AND can actually catch the ball when it hits them in the hands.

i've got two games on at the moment: Purdue-Illinois and North Carolina-Va Tech. i've seen at least 6 dropped passes (all by the "superior" affletes) between them, and it's still the first half in both games. wow. just wow.

edited to add: UNC's dynamic punt returner/receiver Ryan Switzer just had an electrifying return nullified by a pointless block in the back. it, too, was by an afflete with "dat upside." you can't make this stuff up.

Make that three INTs of BSPN Hype job "Kenny Trill" by Richie Brown. A white LB kills the heisman hype of a black quarterback :rockon:

Also Dudek went over 200 yds receiving in this game - he is fun to watch.

You never know but BSPN showed highlights and downplayed Richie Brown unsurprisingly. Kudos to JL for pointing him out initially.

Very true but definitely a great performance! I'm getting ready to watch this Wisco NU game.
