What a highly engineered joke college football has become...

As pointed out on a blog I visit, in last night's game Arizona State ran 105 plays (a record?), gained 626 yards of total offense, and still lost by 35 points.

The afflete-loving spread advocates have destroyed this once beautiful game.

It's not only the spread offense, which is designed to incorporate more black QBs, since it requires fewer reads (nevermind the fact that mobile white QBs run it better). It's the atrocious all-black defenses with 100% black secondaries. It's no mystery how to shut down a spread, if you have smart athletes, but the smart part seems to be missing.......

I agree completely with FootballDad. The fact that 90% of BCS conferences seem to have 2 or less white starters on defense is the primary cause. Look at the UCLA/Arizona State game last night for a perfect example... Arizona St's (with the exception of S Jordan Simone) is all black. Guess what, they SUCK. Hundley had wide-open WRs whenever I was paying attention to the game. The art of tackling has all but disappeared. Even on a majority white defense like the Badgers, the sh*tty defensive blacks (to coin Jimmy's term) end up costing the team anyway with their atrocious tackling and "coverage" skills. I've been really turned off by the NFL and college football to a lesser extent this year seeing all these crappy all-black defenses. I'm sick of seeing only 1 token white player on defense. Look at South Carolina, they have NO white scholarship defenders, yet they still suck! How can this be? I guess those room-brightening smiles and magical hips aren't all they're cracked up to be...

If black CBs are this terrible in college, then how come all these white high schools don't give up 60+ PPG with nearly all white CBs? "Weird" isn't it...

Even the most disciplined defensive players, white or black, would struggle to stop a Baylor or Oregon offense. Wazzu actually played great against Oregon. I think they sacked Mariota 8 times. They still gave up over 500 yards of offense, 38 points, and lost the game.
The NCAA has been "tweaking" the rules for the past decade, enabling huge advantages for the hurry-up spread offenses. Unless changes are made in the opposite direction, I don't think we'll ever see anyone "figure out" how to stop the modern spread. Yes, these teams can be beaten from time to time. But that usually occurs when they are greatly overmatched by more physically gifted players on the other team. And, even then, they still get their points. You're never going to see one of these teams lose 13-0, though.

yeah also with those read option plays where there is a downfield pass as an option, ineligible receiver down field, the lineman often go further than they are supposed to. Never called.

Yale running back Tyler Varga has 26 carries for 181 yards and 4 touchdowns against FBS team Army. The game is going to OT so he can add to those totals.

Edit: Yale pulls off the big win with a touchdown by guess who? 5th for Mr. Varga!

Varga is on the draft radar for both the CFL and the NFL, he is a blue chip CFL prospect and a diamond in the rough NFL prospect. He is considered a NFL fullback prospect with the potential to be a tailback. Of course NFL Draft Scout does this to every White tailback prospect unless they are a Doak Walker or Heisman candidate......:huh:

Good that Morris is starting and even better that Minnesota is winning. They are much Whiter.

Nelson Spruce is having his usual stellar game. 75 yards at halftime.

The somewhat disappointing Jaxon Shipley has 57 yards at the half. It'd be nice to see him go over 100 for once but he's had some lousy quarterbacks throwing to him the last few years.

Devon Cajuste of Stanford with 59 yards at the half. McCaffrey has a catch but no carries. :icon_neutral:

Bowling Green's Ryan Burbrink has 10 catches for 127 and a score. There's still time in the 3rd quarter in that one.

Wherever Kaptain is - I tip my cap to him - Mitch Leidner has played really well today. Michigan overall is a mess. I hope they stick with Morris for the rest of the year. Their have been discussions here regarding Harbaugh leaving the 49ers and going back to Michigan. If he followed the same template he layed at Stanford I would have no issue with that. Not sure how I feel about Hoke, he didn't do himself any favors by coddling and handing the job to Gardner. He has been trying to go back to a more pro style offense from BitchRods total dismantling of Michigan.

whats up with Mark Weisman? why is he not doing well, he had 24 carries for 76 yards, second straight week 20+ carries not cracking 100, i saw he got plenty of short carries last time so maybe thats it. 4 tds in the past two weeks so must at least be lots of goal line carries. but he has to do better than 3.4 ypc and a long of 19 for the season. Maybe its the jewis genes

I would argue that Weisman has been exceptional this year. Iowa is profoundly mediocre on offense. It's a credit to him that he has managed what yardage he has this season.

I was wondering if anybody would notice. Liedner has yet to even be completely healthy. The best is yet to come. He has two terrific white wide receivers. One is from Caledonia, MN who is 6'3" and ran a pretty decent sprint in HS track - he, of course, received no D-I scholarships despite two state football championships and having size and speed.
