I thought Saturday said he would rather have to block Clowney than Watt. That would actually make sense. Did he say he take Clowney as the better player??? If so, that is the worst Caste comment I've ever heard. :dizzy:
i only had it on in the background and thought I heard he would take Clowney then read this on a Saints forum
"Simple question: If you could choose one or the other to be on the Saints(Salary cap not withstanding), Who would you want more?
Jeff Saturday just said on ESPN that he'd choose Clowney"
then "Trust me, I know, I just saw Saturday say he'd choose Clowney and was blown away so thought I'd ask anyway. I would choose Watt everyday and twice on sunday also. "
then "Saturday said something about Watt being a tackle, and he'd take Clowney because ends have more value"
still doesn't make sense, because there are at least 10 to 12 ends or 3-4 olbs that can consistently get double digit sacks, theres only ONE 3-4 DE that can get sacks and pressures consistently, and that is Watt, not a player like him. If they actually started putting more White guys on the line they might find another like him but nope, thats not what they are doing. Plus, as a center, Saturday would never really have to block an end, but would have to block a 3-4 de at times.
But they are dwfs and could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but after Ron Jaworski said Kaepernick is the best qb in the NFL, its not that hard to believe.
Either way, glad to see Watt get respect, but now would like to confirm what exactly Saturday said. Anyone else saw the segment?e
edit: reading through different searches, it sounds like he may have said he would rather block Clowney, but ESPN is in full hype mode for Clowney so perhaps he was trying to make up for the truthful comment and said some crap like he would take Clowney over Watt, because i am reading quite a few fans upset that he said that "Clowney has done way more than Watt at this point in college"
It appears all of this hype stems from ONE play where Clowney made it through the line unblcoked, just a miscommunication on the line, and ran straight to the rb as he was getting the ball and knocked his helmet off.
