Hard to believe another season is about to begin. This year I'll list games of interest among the bigger conferences with significant white starter differences, but won't be posting the smaller conference matchups such as when North Texas plays WMU.
For Thursday and Friday nights games found three intresting games.
Vandy 11 white starters vs Ole Miss 3
Fresno State 8 Rutgers 4
SMU 9 Texas Tech, not sure yet but likely less
Minnesota 11, UNLV 7
I'll have Saturday games later in the week.

Here are the Saturday games with big starter differences.

BYU 14 Virginia, uncertain, but not 14, probably about 8-10
Okla State 6, Miss St 1
Toledo 9, Florida 3
Wash St 8, Auburn 5
Boise St 11, Wash 4
Northwestern 11, Cal uncertain probably about 6-7

I'm also strongly rooting for Va Tech to upset Alabama, TCU to beat LSU and Georgia to beat Clemson. Even if Georgia lost, however, that wouldn't be bad either, because then I would strongly root for them later in the year. I'm hoping, (dreaming) of a non SEC championship team. Also, a Vandy win over Ole Miss and an Ok State win over Miss St would be great. Smashing the myth of SEC supremacy is high on my wish list.

Referendum - i agree with you but would rather see Alabama trounce Va Tech. McCarron needs to be absolutley perfect this season and the media/dwfs will do their best to hype up Logan Thomas if he plays well. Also, I hope UNC pulls off the upset tonight - it will be huge for Bryn Renner's pro prospects.

I just hope Logan Thomas does bad, but then again its difficult. I want to see SEC lose dominance, but AJ is going to have to be perfect this season, and they will still rip him to shreds when he comes out "played with high caliber players", of course they are going to say he has a "weak arm". I d like to see him carry the team on his back. And the sad part is if Logan Thomas has a bad game against Alabama they will talk about the big talent difference between teams, although this wasn't mentioned when NIU had to play FSU. Jordan Lynch's line couldn't get any push and they insisted on running him straight up the middle for the majority of the game. I mean Geno struggled against EVERY team he faced that had something resembling a defense and it still didn't drop him that far. Of course they won't learn from past mistakes.

Its funny how the SEC is a very dark conference, but still has plenty of starting White qbs. I think if they start going the way of the black quarterback then the dominance will fall. Auburn may be the exception because of a great coordinator and very original, which is how he jumped from high school to college so easily but I doubt his black quarterbacks will consistently have the talent to run it efficiently as it should be run.

One team that might be fun to watch is the Univ of AZ Wildcats. They have a duel threat qb in BJ Denker who is really fast. I know they have a few good white linebackers and a few tightends to watch. I also believe they have two wide receivers as well. One just earned a scholarship. I just can't think of the names. Not much of a preview but it will be interesting to see if this Junior College Transfer Denker is any good. They play tommorow night. BJ Denkers nickname is "White Vick". Not a good nickname if you as me.

True freshman Tailback/Athlete Ryan Switzer(UNC) with the 8 yard swing pass...good acceleration...hope to see more of him!

Dual threat Connor Shaw with a nice game so far...65 yd TD pass + 5 carries for 37 yds...but he has to learn to get down...he will never last the season...he came out a play...back-up QB Dylan Thompson throws TD to Whitehurst...

Soph DE Alan Champagne(UNC) with the Hit of the Day on Special Teams...at 6'4" 285 shows nice agility...get him on the field!

Clowney taking plays off, and taking himself out. What a shock.

He's gassed in the 1st quarter of the first game of the season. Seriously? I can't believe(or actually I can) that the announcers didn't make a bigger deal about it. This guy is supposed to be the next great pass rusher, yet, his conditioning is so piss poor he can't even play on crucial 3rd downs on a TD scoring drive. That should be major red flags for NFL teams. Did you see him gasping for air in between plays? Absolutely pathetic.

DWFs will just tell themselves that Clowney is trying to avoid being injured in his final year of college. Problem solved, crisis averted, all is well.

Not only were they not making an issue of it but they were even hyping him when he was on the bench.

Mike Campanaro didn't play for Wake tonight against Presbyterian. Official WF twitter claims he has a "minor" injury. That's a shame. These are the types of games where he should be piling up yardage.

ridiculous, he is already "slated as the first pick in the 2014 draft " and dwfs with crappy teams start talking about "playing for Clowney" when they think they will win one or two games.

Like I said last week, hate to keep bashing Jeff Saturday but the dude just seems weird and more feminine to me now, anorexic looking dropping 80 pounds from his last snap. He said on if he had a team if he had a choice between JJ Watt or Clowney he would pick Clowney. Serioulsy? no matter how good they think this dude is going to be, JJ Watt is a PROVEN commodity. Its a shame, I used to like Jeff Saturday when he was a player.

Vanderbilt looks like they might score to come back to beat Ole Miss.

Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace has 2 rushing TDs to go with 280 yards passing. Rebels walk-on WR Jordan Holder with 3 receptions for 20 yards so far. Kane Whitehurst didn't play much but had a 29 yard TD reception on his second play. Connor Shaw finished as player of the game with 43 yards rushing, he is becoming a huge dual threat. True freshman WR for UNC, Ryan Switzer, also had 3 receptions.

Yeah thats one of the goofiest comments in the history of sports talk. I could understand if Watt was 35 years old. To say you would take Clowney over Watt disqualifies you from any other football discussion.

I thought Saturday said he would rather have to block Clowney than Watt. That would actually make sense. Did he say he take Clowney as the better player??? If so, that is the worst Caste comment I've ever heard. :dizzy:

i only had it on in the background and thought I heard he would take Clowney then read this on a Saints forum

"Simple question: If you could choose one or the other to be on the Saints(Salary cap not withstanding), Who would you want more?

Jeff Saturday just said on ESPN that he'd choose Clowney"

then "Trust me, I know, I just saw Saturday say he'd choose Clowney and was blown away so thought I'd ask anyway. I would choose Watt everyday and twice on sunday also. "

then "Saturday said something about Watt being a tackle, and he'd take Clowney because ends have more value"

still doesn't make sense, because there are at least 10 to 12 ends or 3-4 olbs that can consistently get double digit sacks, theres only ONE 3-4 DE that can get sacks and pressures consistently, and that is Watt, not a player like him. If they actually started putting more White guys on the line they might find another like him but nope, thats not what they are doing. Plus, as a center, Saturday would never really have to block an end, but would have to block a 3-4 de at times.

But they are dwfs and could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but after Ron Jaworski said Kaepernick is the best qb in the NFL, its not that hard to believe.

Either way, glad to see Watt get respect, but now would like to confirm what exactly Saturday said. Anyone else saw the segment?e

edit: reading through different searches, it sounds like he may have said he would rather block Clowney, but ESPN is in full hype mode for Clowney so perhaps he was trying to make up for the truthful comment and said some crap like he would take Clowney over Watt, because i am reading quite a few fans upset that he said that "Clowney has done way more than Watt at this point in college"

It appears all of this hype stems from ONE play where Clowney made it through the line unblcoked, just a miscommunication on the line, and ran straight to the rb as he was getting the ball and knocked his helmet off.

probably just nerves, no biggie. He has some big shoes to fill. They just put him back into the rotation and he got a 4 yard gain, I think he will earn more playing time. The qb just got sacked while he was in pass pro but they had like 4 guys coming unblocked through the line, no way he could get all of them

we had a church gathering over here tonight but they forgot the dvd that we were going to watch, so i put this game on, these are the kind of people that don't watch tv really, they just put the LSU game on when it comes on, you could kind of tell they were a little shocked at how many big plays White guys were making. Im not sure how many are on the field but it seems like most of the big impact plays are made by White guys. Like "look at that amazing catch for a td", and then the surprised look on the their face when the guy goes to the sideline and takes off his helmet.

Ridiculous that Mayfield is a walk-on! Also Gilbert looked very good tonight. Hopefully as the season goes on they trust Line with more carries. They're going to need a banger this year to keep their attack balanced
