The Jim Mora Jr lead U of Cal (Los Angeles) Bruins return after a disappointing 6-8 season. The Bruins look to start 9 White players this season. On the offensive side of the ball, the Bruins are still deciding on a starting QB. However, candidates include Sr Kevin Prince, Fr Jerry Neuheisel (Rick's boy), Fr T.J. Millweard and Fr Mike Fafaul. Offensive White starters include C Greg Capella, RG Jeff Baca, FB David Allen, and TE Joe Fauria. Also, the following White Bruins should see action on offense...LT Mike Padovese, LG Alexandru Ceachir, C Jake Brendel, FB Alex Cusick, and RB Steven Manfro (listed as 3rd string). :)

On defense, White starters include DE Cassius Marsh, ILB Todd Golper (replacing medically retired Larimore) and OLB Jordan Zumwalt. Also seeing reps on defense should be ILBs Jared Koster and Ryan Hofmeister.

Offense (5)
C Greg Capella
RG Jeff Baca
LG Alexandru Ceachir
FB David Allen
TE Joe Fauria

Defense (4)
DE Cassius Marsh
OLB Jordan Zumwalt
OLB Damien Holmes
ILB Todd Golper

Special Teams
PK Joe Roberts
P/KO Jeff Locke
LS Kevin McDermott

Nice to see the Bruins whitening up a little bit again this year! Dixie, I think you may have missed one white starter. Senior Damien Holmes is slated to start at the other OLB spot opposite Zumwalt this year. He's making the transition to OLB this year from DE due to UCLA shifting to a 3-4 defense. That should give the Bruins 9 white starters total this year. :)

JL, I saw Damien listed as a starter but wasn't sure if he was possibly mestizo or a poly. :embarassed: I couldn't really tell from the few pictures I found of him.

Looking forward seeing tailback redshirt freshman Steve Manfro (5'-11" 195) get an opportunity... he should figure in the return game with some long runs! List Danny Woodhead & Maurice Jones-Drew has his favorite players...

Cassius Marsh is an impact player; I can see a future in the NFL! He committed to LSU out of HS; was sorry to see him change his mind.

Patrick Larimore is the leading tackler & team captain; missed bowl due to injury...should be ready to wreck havoc!

That's what I was thinking too, Dixie while I looked at his profile pic a bit more. I think he might be a little mestizo, but not enough to attract the notice of any DWFs or analysts.

I noticed WA33 had him listed as a white starter last year, which is why I mentioned him here. :) I think it's your call to put whether to list him as a starter or not.

Personally, I'm going to cheer for him, as he looks and acts (I think) fairly white. To my knowledge, I don't think the media or anybody has played him up at all as non-white. I also don't think he's recieved any draft hype either, as many non-white prospects get.

I hope Steve Manfro gets to tear it up this year at UCLA, especially against the Trojans!

Thanks for the feedback Jack, I'll update the count. :)

It also looks like UCLA is going "hip hop". They just offered Snoop Dogg's son a scholarship, apparently simply because Snoop is his dad and he's black. There are probably 25,000 more qualified white HS players around the nation, but this is twisted cult-marx amerikka we're talking about. He will join up with Sean "Puff Daddy" "P Diddy" Combs son who is on his way. All of these white players are going to have a cRappy experience with these two gems around.

Gee I wonder why they didn't make them walk on like so many other famous people's sons have had to do, like Clay Matthews III. Surely they have the money to pay for it or was it all spent on bling and weed? I know at least Puff Daddy should have some money leftover with all of the businesses he has had, who wasn't really a rapper, more of a guy who exploited the talent of other rappers like the retarded B.I.G.

But unlike someone like Clay Matthews, they don't come from athletic families, most rappers are unathletic and nerdy which is the reason they turned to hip hop in the first place, they couldn't be artificially inflated through sports. Compared to some of the free style "raps" I hear from high school and college kids routinely, what these famous guys make is actually somewhat good in comparison, that isn't saying much. I have a friend who went to school with Lil Wayne, big time nerd who sucked in P.E. yet he brags about that one td he scored in pee wee football as a fullback. I guess you could say Mystikal was an "athlete", he served his football team as.....a Cheerleader haha.

I see that the front runner for the UCLA LG Wade Yandall, has retired due to concussion problems.

This means that the starting LG job will go to Alexandru Ceachir, with Ben Wysocki(also white) backing him up. This gives the Bruins 10 white starters, assuming Kevin Prince wins the QB job!! That's quite unexpected, but I'll take it all day! :D

This makes UCLA whiter than Stanford for this season! Definatly not something I saw coming.

For the Bruins victory over Rice, TE Joe Fauria had 3 catches for 53 yards and a TD to lead UCLA in receiving yardage.

On defense, LB Damian Holmes racked up 4 tackles and a sack.

It's hard to root for another black quarterback led team - Hundley is this year's magical negro at QB for the media

Outside the top White teams (Wisconsin, BC, Nebraska), I just pull for the White players on all other teams. I might pull for a Whiter team in a caste matchup, but not necessarily for every game. For example, I'd pull for UCLA against Florida...but not against Wisconsin.

DixieDestroyer,

I am with you on that. I only root for white players and majority white teams. Sorry if my post was perceived as a slight against you...it was not meant to come across like that.

No worries LF...I didn't take it negatively at all.

I agree w/ you about the "black quarterback" on "White friendly" team dilemma. I'm trying to focus more on pulling for White players...versus pulling against the "world greatest athletes". ;)
