Here's the first two regions of the Bracket. I haven't heard from Jimmy in a few days, so I might have to do the rest of the regions too. I'll have them up tommorow after noon if I have to do them.
South Region
# 1. Kentucky - John Calipari is trying to turn Kentucky into his Memphis teams, as in not playing any white players. The only one that gets meaningful time for Kentucky is the high flying Kyle Wiltjer, although he's usually shooting threes for the Wildcats, although he's very good at that, too, shooting 42% from 3. Wiltjer averages 13 minutes per game, which isn't nearly enough for him. Kentucky is really talented though, and with Anthony Davis and Doron Lamb, this team can cut down the nets in New Orleans in April.
# 16. Miss. Valley St/Western Kentucky - I'm sure nobody really cares about this play-in game, both of these teams are as black as you can get. Whoever wins between these two, Kentucky is going to take them behind the woodshed in the next game.
# 8. Iowa State - The Cyclones come into the NCAA Tournament sporting a nearly all-black roster, but one of their best players is a white man. Scott Christopherson averages nearly 13 PPG, and plays 32 minutes per game. I don't know that much about him, but he is a great scorer who can score in bunches this year. He shoots the 3 very well, shooting 45% beyond the arc. The only other white man on the roster has played 45 minutes worth of games this year, averaging less than 4 per game in the 13 games he's played in this year.
# 9. Connecticut - Jim Calhoun and the defending National Champion Huskies are back in the Big Dance this year after playing very inconsistent through the year. Calhoun continues to play nearly all black players. He also continue to torture his two white players that get minutes. Niels Giffey and Tyler Olander actually play a little bit more than last year, with Giffey averaging 12 minutes per game, and Olander playing 18 minutes per game. Both of these guys have actually started a few games too, and they can even see the court at the same time. Their black teammates however, usually refuse to pass them the ball a lot of the time, with Olander averaging around 4 PPG, and Giffey at 3 PPG. I still despise Jim Calhoun, but I hope UConn is somehow able to knock off Kentucky in the 2nd round.
# 5. Wichita State - The Shockers are yet another nearly all-black team, but their best player is a white man. The team revolves around 7-0 senior center Garrett Stutz. Stutz is an incredibly athletic big man who leads the Shockers in scoring at 14 PPG, and also is the Shocker's leading rebounder with 8 per game. He is also a very good free throw shooter, shooting 82% from the charity stripe. Stutz is also a great defender, leading the team in blocks with 32. Stutz is the only white man that plays consistently for Wichita State, and if he plays well, the Shockers should get past a smaller VCU team.
# 12. VCU - The Virginia Commonwealth Rams are coming off their cinderella run to the Final Four last year, and they're doing without any white players at all, again. They love to press, trap, and run on teams, and they love playing an up tempo style. They don't have the athletes they did last year, so I'm not sure if they'll be able to make it past Wichita State.
# 4. Indiana - The Hoosiers enter the Big Dance off of a huge bounce back year under Tom Creen, and they're doing it with a lot of white players. The Hoosiers have 3 everyday white starters. Freshman Cody Zeller has made a huge impact from day 1 on Indiana. Zeller is a monster in the low post for the Hoosiers, but he has been shut down at times this year. Usually however, Zeller is a very dominant force who is very athletic and runs the floor better than nearly any big man in the country. Jordan Hulls is the starting point guard for IU. He's a very capable scorer who can take over games sometimes, and can also distrbute the ball very well. Their third white starter is wing player WIll Sheehey, a very impressive athlete who can throw down some nice dunks, and shoot the three ball too. White bench players that get time for IU are 3 point sharpshooter Matt Roth, who provides a nice spark off the bench for IU, and Derek Elston. The Hoosiers have the talent to make a Tournament run this year, but Zeller has to be dominant down low for IU. I hope they beat New Mexico State, and the VCU/Wichita State winner in the 2nd round.
# 13. New Mexico State - I hope the Hoosiers blow this all black team all the way back to Las Cruces. Nary a white man is good enough to sit on the bench for these racists. Their only non-black player is one of the 7-5 Indian twins from Canda. Regardless, I hope they lose by 30.
# 6. UNLV - The Runnin' Rebels have an all-black starting five, and I think they play a pretty up tempo game. Two white players come off the bench, but they only play 11-12 minutes per game. One is Carlos Lopez, a white Puerto Rican who averages 6 PPG, and senior guard Kendall Wallace, who only averages 3 PPG. The Rebels have some talent, but they're going to have to put it together to do anything, and they could lose to Colorado in the first round.
# 11. Colorado - The Buffaloes won the Pac-12 Tourney to get into the Big Dance. Colorado starts two white players, and gives time to several more. One of their best players is a white man, 6-9 senior forward Austin Dufault, who averages 11 PPG for the Buffs, and averages 5 rebounds per game too. From what I've seen of him, he seems to be a pretty good player, but I haven't seen the Buffs play that much, so I'm not too sure on some of these guys. Australian Nate Tomlinson starts at one of the guard spots for Colorado, and is mostly in the game for defensive purposes, only averaging 6 PPG. Sabatino Chen plays about 10 minutes at one of the guard spots off the bench, and doesn't get very many shot attempts at all. Australian F/C Shane Harris-Tunks comes off the bench too for the Buffs. Overall, the Buffaloes seem like a pretty good team to cheer for, especially against UNLV.
# 3. Baylor- The Bears only have one white player that plays, which would be starting combo guard Brady Heslip, who averages nearly 10 PPG, and shoots 44% from 3 point range. Heslip is the only white player who plays for Baylor, so I hope South Dakota St. blows them out!
# 14. South Dakota State - The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are dancing for the first time in school history after winning the Summit League Title. 6-4 Junior Guard Nate Wolters is the engine that makes the Jackrabbits run. He's a great player and scorer, averaging 21.3 PPG, 6 assists per game, 5 rebounds per game, and over 35 MPG too. Jordan Dykstra is the Jackrabbit's 2nd scoring option after Wolters, scoring 12 PPG, and pulling down 5 rebounds, and is the Jackrabbits' best inside player, in addition to being able to shoot the three. Guard Griffan Callahan is also a player to watch for SDSU. He's another 6-4 guard who averages 11 PPG, and 5 rebounds per game to boot. The last white starters are 6-7 forward Tony Fiegen and 6-4 sophomore guard Brayden Carlson. Three of SDSU's starters besides Wolters and Fiegen shoot over 40% from three point range. Chad White is the 6th man, and the key player off the bench for the Jackrabbits, who is in the game more than Fiegen, and also shoots over 40% from three. The other white players who see minutes off the Jackrabbit's bench are Zach Horstman, Zach Monaghan, and Marcus Heemstra. So out of a 10 man rotation, only one black player sees any time at all! The Jacks are also very young, with just one senior on the roster this year in Callahan, and only two juniors, so they'll keep improving, and hopefully make some noise in the NCAA Tourney the next few years, and hopefully, make some noise this year by knocking Baylor out of the Tournament.
# 7. Notre Dame - The Fighting Irish remain a bastion of whiteness in the black Big East. They were (once again) the only team in the Big East this year to start a majority of white players, and play a majority of white players. Jack Cooley has had a nice break out campaign this year, although he's been really struggling lately in his last couple of games. Cooley is the Notre Dame's leading scorer on the year, with over 12 PPG, and is a very good player in the post. Cooley is also a monster on the boards pulling down 9 rebounds a game too. Guess what? Cooley plays defense too, leading his team in blocks with 52. Senior guard Scott Martin has been consistent again this year for Notre Dame, averaging 10 points per game; Martin can also rebound, with 6 boards per game. Pat Connaughton is already a solid player has a freshman. He's had his great games this year, but he's also been very inconsistent this year too. Connaughton only averages 7 PPG, but he can go off for 20 on any given night too. Alex Dragicevich is a guard who comes off the bench for the Fighting Irish. Dragicevich can shoot the three ball very well; he's been shooting better as of late. Tom Knight is a solid back up to Jack Cooley, and can play well when Cooley needs a break. Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant have struggled MIGHTILY for Notre Dame down the stretch. If Notre Dame has any hope of advancing, these two and Cooley need to start converting some of their open looks, and Atkins and Grant have to distribute the ball as well.
# 10. Xavier - The Musketeers only play two white players this year regularly. That is 7-0 senior center Kenny Frease. Unlike most other white big men on otherwise all-black teams, Frease actually scores for Xavier, at the rate of nearly 10 PPG. Frease also pulls down 6 boards per game. Junior guard Brad Redford is the only other white player who consistently gets into the game for Chris Mack's Musketeers.
# 2. Duke - Duke's backcourt continues to get darker, with no white players getting playing time. However, their front court continues to stay white, with some combination of Mason Plumlee, Ryan Kelly, or Miles Plumlee starting. The Plumlee brothers are superb athletes and are very fun to watch. Mason is nearly averaging a double double, with 11 PPG, and 9 rebounds per game. Ryan Kelly is more of a perimeter threat than the Plumlee brothers, averaging 12 ppg. It will be interesting to see how Kelly comes back from his injury that kept him out of the ACC Tourney. Miles Plumlee has been playing great as of late, averaging 7 PPG and 7 rebounds per game. Unfortunatly, these three players end Duke's rotation of white players this year. Austin Rivers and Seth Curry are Duke's leading scorers, but they average only 5 assits between them this year, and are only shooting 44% and 43% from the field, respectivley. If Rivers and Curry share the ball, Duke will be very tough to stop, but if they continue to play sloppily at times like they have, Duke could be in for an early exit.
# 15. Lehigh - I know nothing about how Lehigh plays. I watched them for a little bit during the Patriot League Championship game, and the Mountain Hawks start three white players, Gabe Knutson, and Holden Greiner, and Jordan Hamilton. Knutson and Greiner average over 10 PPG. They also have two white players who come off the bench, Corey Schaefer and Justin Maneri. I didn't think they were this white- when I saw them, they played a lot of black players, so this is a pleasent surprise. I don't think they'll be much of a much for the Dukies though.
West Region
#1. Michigan State - Tom Izzo has his Spartans back in a prime position to take the NCAA Crown this year. The Spartans start one white player, in senior walk-on guard Austin Thornton. Thornton is mainly in the game for his great defense, but he has turned into a nice three point shooter as well. Thornton is the only white player to see any significant minutes for Michigan State this year. Russell Byrd and Alex Gauna may see a minute or two here or there too. Michigan State is a legit threat to take the whole thing this year.
# 16. LIU Brooklyn- The Blackbirds start and play two white players, but that won't be enough against a very talented Michigan State team. Expect this one to be over by half time.
# 8. Memphis - The all-black Tigers are peaking at the right time, tearing through the Conf. USA tournament. Memphis loves to play an up-tempo style of basketball. They'll have a tough matchup with St. Louis in the 1st round.
# 9. St. Louis - Rick Majerus has the St. Louis Billikens dancing again for the first time in a while. Majerus is using a few white players to help him, too. The Billikens use two or three white starters consistently. St. Louis' best player is 6'6" senior forward Brian Conklin, the team's leading scorer who averages nearly 14 PPG, and is a team leader. 6-11 New Zealand product Rob Loe is the team's best inside defender, and has started every game this year, but doesn't offer much in the way of scoring with under 4 PPG. Guard Kyle Cassity has been the third white starter for St. Louis for about 2/3 of the game this year. One of the Billiken's most productive players comes off of the bench in 6-8 Junior forward Cody Ellis, who is third on the team in scoring at 11 PPG. The Billiken's don't really have an outside shooter, with nobody on the team shooting better than 40%, so they can't let the Memphis Tigers jump on them right away, because they won't be shooting very well from downtown to get themselves back in the game. Their inside game is pretty good, and they can score, but I don't think they'll want to get in a track meet with Memphis.
#5. New Mexico - The Lobos actually play a couple of white Australian players, with one starting. That starter would be 6-3 freshman point guard Hugh Greenwood, who averages 6 PPG. He has a 2.6 assist to TO ratio. The other player is 6-9 sophomore forward Cameron Bairstow, but he doesn't really get the ball too much, averaging only 4 PPG. I didn't think New Mexico had any white players, so this is a pretty pleasant suprise.
#12. Long Beach State - This all-black team is one of the media's cinderella darlings this year. The 49ers don't play ONE white player at all during the games, from when I've watched them this year. I hope they lose to the Lobos this year.
#4. Louisville - Rick Pitino's Cardinals are back to playing two white men regulary after last year, when they had four in their rotation. That would be their best player, the high-flying, athletic Kyle Kuric, the team's leading scorer at 13 PPG. Kuric can throw down some nasty dunks, and he can shoot the three ball really well too. The only other white player who gets any sort of minutes for them is back up guard Elisha Justice.
#13. Davidson - The Wildcats are in the NCAA Tournament again after a couple year absence. Davidson regulary starts four white players, and has five on the court for a big part of the game. Davidson is powered inside by 6-10 junior forward Jake Cohen, who is 2nd on the team in scoring with 14 PPG, and tied for the lead in rebounding with 6 per game. Cohen also plays some great defense, easily having the most blocked shots on the team with 54. Joining Cohen in the starting lineup is athletic two guard J.P. Kuhlman, who's third on the team in scoring, with 11 PPG. Kuhlman is pretty good at shooting threes, but is also athletic enough to drive the ball to the hoop if needed. Nick Cochran is the point guard of the Davidson Wildcats, who also averages 11 PPG. Cochran is the team's best three point shooter, shooting just over 37% on the year. Cochran can distribute the ball fairly well, with nearly 4 assists per game. Recently added to the starting lineup is 6-7 Swedish guard Chris Czerapowicz, who also averages double figures in scoring at 10 PPG. Some bench players you can expect to see for the Wildcats are guards Tyler Kalinoski and Tom Droney, and forwards Will Reigel and the high-flying, athletic Clint Mann. Davidson plays some great team basketball, can score inside good, and have upset Kansas this year, so I think they have a pretty good chance to do the same to Louisville.
#6. Murray State - The Racers are another one of the media's cinderella teams this year. These racists have two white men on the roster who have played a combined 26 minutes this year. Needless to say, I hope they lose the first round.
#11. Colorado State - The Rams start two everyday white players, and play two more off the bench. The Ram's best player and top scorer is junior guard Wes Eikmeier, who averages nearly 16 PPG. 6-5 junior forward Pierce Hornung is the Ram's 2nd white starter. Jesse Carr and Kaipo Sabas come off the bench for the Rams. I don't know much about them, so that's about all I can say. I hope they beat Murray State.
#3. Marquette - The all-black Golden Eagles love to press teams and run the into the ground. They play a very fast, exciting, attacking style of game, much like Iona did to BYU already this tournament.
# 14. BYU - The Cougars completed a massive 25 point comeback in their win in the play in game over Iona. The Cougars are led by forward Noah Hartsock, who leads the team in scoring, with 17 PPG. Hartsock is an athletic player, has a sweet turnaround jump shot, and can take the ball to the hoop, although he prefers his turnaround jump shot. Up and down freshman point guard Matt Carlino starts for BYU as well. Carlino has for the most part been really good this year, averaging 12 PPG, and shooting over 40% from three. Carlino can also drive the ball to the hoop well, and is a pretty good athlete. Brock Zylstra is the last white starter for the Cougars. Zylstra is a good defender; he's 2nd on the team with 40 steals on the year. Backup guard Craig Cusick, who is a steady point guard in his own right, and 6-11 Freshman Nate Austin also get into the game for some quality minutes for BYU. Their win over Iona gave them some confidence, and they should play Marquette really tough.
#7. Florida - The Gators start one white player this year, the versitile, high-flying, 3 point shooting big man Erik Murphy. He shoots over 44% from three, and scores 11 PPG for the up-tempo Gators, who are in love with the 3-ball this year. Cody Larson, another big man for Florida, might get into the game during the tournament. As I've said, the Gators live and die by the 3 point shot. If they make their three's they'll beat teams; if they don't, they'll get blown out.
#10. Virginia - The Cavaliers have experienced a little bit of a resurgence this year under Tony Bennett. Virginia starts two white players, guards Sammy Zeglinski and Joe Harris. Zeglinski is mostly at point guard for the Cavs, and Harris is an all-around player from his guard spot. Harris is is 2nd on the team with nearly 12 PPG, and Zeglinski is third with 9 PPG. Paul Jesperson is the only other white player who gets into the game for the Wahoos. The Cavaliers play some great defense, but they have trouble scoring enough points to beat good teams this year. This will be a big problem for them in the tournament. Virginia better play good defense on Florida's three point shooting, or else they may not be able to get back in the game.
# 2. Missouri - The Tigers have a small four-guard lineup, but they've run teams into the ground this year. I believe the Tigers are a legitimate championship contender this year, they love to run, press, and score, and then run some more, which is hard for a lot of teams to guard. Oh, and they don't have a white player who's good enough to see the court for them.
# 15. Norfolk State - Apparantly, there are no white men good enough to play or even coach for the very misnamed Spartans. That's weird, how did an all-black school end up with a white mascot? These racists sucks at basketball, and should be headed home by half time.
