It's March again, so that means another edition of everybody's favorite Basketball Tournament is back. The play-in games start today, with Miss. Valley State and Western Kentucky right now, and our first caste matchup of the Tournament featuring BYU against Iona in the 2nd game tonight. Jimmy C. and I will be previewing each team with scouting reports, and hope to have them up by Thursday.

Indiana/ New Mexico St.
Memphis/St. Louis
Louisville/Davidson
Georgetown/Belmont

BYU and Iona have started on TRU TV if anybody is interested. BYU has three white starters, and Iona has zero.

BYU is mounting a comeback against Iona right now, cutting Iona's lead down to 10 points. It was 25 in the 1st half, and up to 18 in the 2nd half.

What a comeback for the Cougars in their play-in game with Iona! Down 25 in the 1st half, and 18 in the 2nd, BYU came back on the shoulders of Noah Hartsock's shooting, and Davies' rebounding. Iona's fast-paced attack confused BYU to the point that they were getting worn down by the Gael's quick pace, giving up easy buckets, and digging themselves into a massive hole. BYU turned the ball over a LOT in the 1st half. When BYU slowed the game down, and prevented Iona from running, that changed the game. Iona looked completely confused on how to crack BYU's defense, and they never really did. BYU's stiffling defense held Iona to 2 made buckets for about 15-16 minutes of the 2nd half.

Hartsock hit nearly every one of his shots in the 2nd half, including a huge three to give the Cougars their 1st lead, 71-70. He finished with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Brock Zylstra sealed the deal in the end with an old-fashioned three point play.

I love March Madness! What a game to start off the Tournament! I hope BYU can carry this momentum into their game with Marquette.

It shows the value of Jimmer, one year removed from BYU and they went from a Sweet 16 level team to a bubble team that had to play a play in game to qualify.

Nearly all-white Vermont won tonight, with their 4 whites starters, and all their bench players being white. Cal and South Florida may be a caste matchup too; Cal uses 2 white starters, and South Florida has 1 or 2 whites on the whole roster.

Here's the first two regions of the Bracket. I haven't heard from Jimmy in a few days, so I might have to do the rest of the regions too. I'll have them up tommorow after noon if I have to do them.

South Region

# 1. Kentucky - John Calipari is trying to turn Kentucky into his Memphis teams, as in not playing any white players. The only one that gets meaningful time for Kentucky is the high flying Kyle Wiltjer, although he's usually shooting threes for the Wildcats, although he's very good at that, too, shooting 42% from 3. Wiltjer averages 13 minutes per game, which isn't nearly enough for him. Kentucky is really talented though, and with Anthony Davis and Doron Lamb, this team can cut down the nets in New Orleans in April.

# 16. Miss. Valley St/Western Kentucky - I'm sure nobody really cares about this play-in game, both of these teams are as black as you can get. Whoever wins between these two, Kentucky is going to take them behind the woodshed in the next game.

# 8. Iowa State - The Cyclones come into the NCAA Tournament sporting a nearly all-black roster, but one of their best players is a white man. Scott Christopherson averages nearly 13 PPG, and plays 32 minutes per game. I don't know that much about him, but he is a great scorer who can score in bunches this year. He shoots the 3 very well, shooting 45% beyond the arc. The only other white man on the roster has played 45 minutes worth of games this year, averaging less than 4 per game in the 13 games he's played in this year.

# 9. Connecticut - Jim Calhoun and the defending National Champion Huskies are back in the Big Dance this year after playing very inconsistent through the year. Calhoun continues to play nearly all black players. He also continue to torture his two white players that get minutes. Niels Giffey and Tyler Olander actually play a little bit more than last year, with Giffey averaging 12 minutes per game, and Olander playing 18 minutes per game. Both of these guys have actually started a few games too, and they can even see the court at the same time. Their black teammates however, usually refuse to pass them the ball a lot of the time, with Olander averaging around 4 PPG, and Giffey at 3 PPG. I still despise Jim Calhoun, but I hope UConn is somehow able to knock off Kentucky in the 2nd round.

# 5. Wichita State - The Shockers are yet another nearly all-black team, but their best player is a white man. The team revolves around 7-0 senior center Garrett Stutz. Stutz is an incredibly athletic big man who leads the Shockers in scoring at 14 PPG, and also is the Shocker's leading rebounder with 8 per game. He is also a very good free throw shooter, shooting 82% from the charity stripe. Stutz is also a great defender, leading the team in blocks with 32. Stutz is the only white man that plays consistently for Wichita State, and if he plays well, the Shockers should get past a smaller VCU team.

# 12. VCU - The Virginia Commonwealth Rams are coming off their cinderella run to the Final Four last year, and they're doing without any white players at all, again. They love to press, trap, and run on teams, and they love playing an up tempo style. They don't have the athletes they did last year, so I'm not sure if they'll be able to make it past Wichita State.

# 4. Indiana - The Hoosiers enter the Big Dance off of a huge bounce back year under Tom Creen, and they're doing it with a lot of white players. The Hoosiers have 3 everyday white starters. Freshman Cody Zeller has made a huge impact from day 1 on Indiana. Zeller is a monster in the low post for the Hoosiers, but he has been shut down at times this year. Usually however, Zeller is a very dominant force who is very athletic and runs the floor better than nearly any big man in the country. Jordan Hulls is the starting point guard for IU. He's a very capable scorer who can take over games sometimes, and can also distrbute the ball very well. Their third white starter is wing player WIll Sheehey, a very impressive athlete who can throw down some nice dunks, and shoot the three ball too. White bench players that get time for IU are 3 point sharpshooter Matt Roth, who provides a nice spark off the bench for IU, and Derek Elston. The Hoosiers have the talent to make a Tournament run this year, but Zeller has to be dominant down low for IU. I hope they beat New Mexico State, and the VCU/Wichita State winner in the 2nd round.

# 13. New Mexico State - I hope the Hoosiers blow this all black team all the way back to Las Cruces. Nary a white man is good enough to sit on the bench for these racists. Their only non-black player is one of the 7-5 Indian twins from Canda. Regardless, I hope they lose by 30.

# 6. UNLV - The Runnin' Rebels have an all-black starting five, and I think they play a pretty up tempo game. Two white players come off the bench, but they only play 11-12 minutes per game. One is Carlos Lopez, a white Puerto Rican who averages 6 PPG, and senior guard Kendall Wallace, who only averages 3 PPG. The Rebels have some talent, but they're going to have to put it together to do anything, and they could lose to Colorado in the first round.

# 11. Colorado - The Buffaloes won the Pac-12 Tourney to get into the Big Dance. Colorado starts two white players, and gives time to several more. One of their best players is a white man, 6-9 senior forward Austin Dufault, who averages 11 PPG for the Buffs, and averages 5 rebounds per game too. From what I've seen of him, he seems to be a pretty good player, but I haven't seen the Buffs play that much, so I'm not too sure on some of these guys. Australian Nate Tomlinson starts at one of the guard spots for Colorado, and is mostly in the game for defensive purposes, only averaging 6 PPG. Sabatino Chen plays about 10 minutes at one of the guard spots off the bench, and doesn't get very many shot attempts at all. Australian F/C Shane Harris-Tunks comes off the bench too for the Buffs. Overall, the Buffaloes seem like a pretty good team to cheer for, especially against UNLV.

# 3. Baylor- The Bears only have one white player that plays, which would be starting combo guard Brady Heslip, who averages nearly 10 PPG, and shoots 44% from 3 point range. Heslip is the only white player who plays for Baylor, so I hope South Dakota St. blows them out!

# 14. South Dakota State - The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are dancing for the first time in school history after winning the Summit League Title. 6-4 Junior Guard Nate Wolters is the engine that makes the Jackrabbits run. He's a great player and scorer, averaging 21.3 PPG, 6 assists per game, 5 rebounds per game, and over 35 MPG too. Jordan Dykstra is the Jackrabbit's 2nd scoring option after Wolters, scoring 12 PPG, and pulling down 5 rebounds, and is the Jackrabbits' best inside player, in addition to being able to shoot the three. Guard Griffan Callahan is also a player to watch for SDSU. He's another 6-4 guard who averages 11 PPG, and 5 rebounds per game to boot. The last white starters are 6-7 forward Tony Fiegen and 6-4 sophomore guard Brayden Carlson. Three of SDSU's starters besides Wolters and Fiegen shoot over 40% from three point range. Chad White is the 6th man, and the key player off the bench for the Jackrabbits, who is in the game more than Fiegen, and also shoots over 40% from three. The other white players who see minutes off the Jackrabbit's bench are Zach Horstman, Zach Monaghan, and Marcus Heemstra. So out of a 10 man rotation, only one black player sees any time at all! The Jacks are also very young, with just one senior on the roster this year in Callahan, and only two juniors, so they'll keep improving, and hopefully make some noise in the NCAA Tourney the next few years, and hopefully, make some noise this year by knocking Baylor out of the Tournament.

# 7. Notre Dame - The Fighting Irish remain a bastion of whiteness in the black Big East. They were (once again) the only team in the Big East this year to start a majority of white players, and play a majority of white players. Jack Cooley has had a nice break out campaign this year, although he's been really struggling lately in his last couple of games. Cooley is the Notre Dame's leading scorer on the year, with over 12 PPG, and is a very good player in the post. Cooley is also a monster on the boards pulling down 9 rebounds a game too. Guess what? Cooley plays defense too, leading his team in blocks with 52. Senior guard Scott Martin has been consistent again this year for Notre Dame, averaging 10 points per game; Martin can also rebound, with 6 boards per game. Pat Connaughton is already a solid player has a freshman. He's had his great games this year, but he's also been very inconsistent this year too. Connaughton only averages 7 PPG, but he can go off for 20 on any given night too. Alex Dragicevich is a guard who comes off the bench for the Fighting Irish. Dragicevich can shoot the three ball very well; he's been shooting better as of late. Tom Knight is a solid back up to Jack Cooley, and can play well when Cooley needs a break. Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant have struggled MIGHTILY for Notre Dame down the stretch. If Notre Dame has any hope of advancing, these two and Cooley need to start converting some of their open looks, and Atkins and Grant have to distribute the ball as well.

# 10. Xavier - The Musketeers only play two white players this year regularly. That is 7-0 senior center Kenny Frease. Unlike most other white big men on otherwise all-black teams, Frease actually scores for Xavier, at the rate of nearly 10 PPG. Frease also pulls down 6 boards per game. Junior guard Brad Redford is the only other white player who consistently gets into the game for Chris Mack's Musketeers.

# 2. Duke - Duke's backcourt continues to get darker, with no white players getting playing time. However, their front court continues to stay white, with some combination of Mason Plumlee, Ryan Kelly, or Miles Plumlee starting. The Plumlee brothers are superb athletes and are very fun to watch. Mason is nearly averaging a double double, with 11 PPG, and 9 rebounds per game. Ryan Kelly is more of a perimeter threat than the Plumlee brothers, averaging 12 ppg. It will be interesting to see how Kelly comes back from his injury that kept him out of the ACC Tourney. Miles Plumlee has been playing great as of late, averaging 7 PPG and 7 rebounds per game. Unfortunatly, these three players end Duke's rotation of white players this year. Austin Rivers and Seth Curry are Duke's leading scorers, but they average only 5 assits between them this year, and are only shooting 44% and 43% from the field, respectivley. If Rivers and Curry share the ball, Duke will be very tough to stop, but if they continue to play sloppily at times like they have, Duke could be in for an early exit.

# 15. Lehigh - I know nothing about how Lehigh plays. I watched them for a little bit during the Patriot League Championship game, and the Mountain Hawks start three white players, Gabe Knutson, and Holden Greiner, and Jordan Hamilton. Knutson and Greiner average over 10 PPG. They also have two white players who come off the bench, Corey Schaefer and Justin Maneri. I didn't think they were this white- when I saw them, they played a lot of black players, so this is a pleasent surprise. I don't think they'll be much of a much for the Dukies though.

West Region

#1. Michigan State - Tom Izzo has his Spartans back in a prime position to take the NCAA Crown this year. The Spartans start one white player, in senior walk-on guard Austin Thornton. Thornton is mainly in the game for his great defense, but he has turned into a nice three point shooter as well. Thornton is the only white player to see any significant minutes for Michigan State this year. Russell Byrd and Alex Gauna may see a minute or two here or there too. Michigan State is a legit threat to take the whole thing this year.

# 16. LIU Brooklyn- The Blackbirds start and play two white players, but that won't be enough against a very talented Michigan State team. Expect this one to be over by half time.

# 8. Memphis - The all-black Tigers are peaking at the right time, tearing through the Conf. USA tournament. Memphis loves to play an up-tempo style of basketball. They'll have a tough matchup with St. Louis in the 1st round.

# 9. St. Louis - Rick Majerus has the St. Louis Billikens dancing again for the first time in a while. Majerus is using a few white players to help him, too. The Billikens use two or three white starters consistently. St. Louis' best player is 6'6" senior forward Brian Conklin, the team's leading scorer who averages nearly 14 PPG, and is a team leader. 6-11 New Zealand product Rob Loe is the team's best inside defender, and has started every game this year, but doesn't offer much in the way of scoring with under 4 PPG. Guard Kyle Cassity has been the third white starter for St. Louis for about 2/3 of the game this year. One of the Billiken's most productive players comes off of the bench in 6-8 Junior forward Cody Ellis, who is third on the team in scoring at 11 PPG. The Billiken's don't really have an outside shooter, with nobody on the team shooting better than 40%, so they can't let the Memphis Tigers jump on them right away, because they won't be shooting very well from downtown to get themselves back in the game. Their inside game is pretty good, and they can score, but I don't think they'll want to get in a track meet with Memphis.

#5. New Mexico - The Lobos actually play a couple of white Australian players, with one starting. That starter would be 6-3 freshman point guard Hugh Greenwood, who averages 6 PPG. He has a 2.6 assist to TO ratio. The other player is 6-9 sophomore forward Cameron Bairstow, but he doesn't really get the ball too much, averaging only 4 PPG. I didn't think New Mexico had any white players, so this is a pretty pleasant suprise.

#12. Long Beach State - This all-black team is one of the media's cinderella darlings this year. The 49ers don't play ONE white player at all during the games, from when I've watched them this year. I hope they lose to the Lobos this year.

#4. Louisville - Rick Pitino's Cardinals are back to playing two white men regulary after last year, when they had four in their rotation. That would be their best player, the high-flying, athletic Kyle Kuric, the team's leading scorer at 13 PPG. Kuric can throw down some nasty dunks, and he can shoot the three ball really well too. The only other white player who gets any sort of minutes for them is back up guard Elisha Justice.

#13. Davidson - The Wildcats are in the NCAA Tournament again after a couple year absence. Davidson regulary starts four white players, and has five on the court for a big part of the game. Davidson is powered inside by 6-10 junior forward Jake Cohen, who is 2nd on the team in scoring with 14 PPG, and tied for the lead in rebounding with 6 per game. Cohen also plays some great defense, easily having the most blocked shots on the team with 54. Joining Cohen in the starting lineup is athletic two guard J.P. Kuhlman, who's third on the team in scoring, with 11 PPG. Kuhlman is pretty good at shooting threes, but is also athletic enough to drive the ball to the hoop if needed. Nick Cochran is the point guard of the Davidson Wildcats, who also averages 11 PPG. Cochran is the team's best three point shooter, shooting just over 37% on the year. Cochran can distribute the ball fairly well, with nearly 4 assists per game. Recently added to the starting lineup is 6-7 Swedish guard Chris Czerapowicz, who also averages double figures in scoring at 10 PPG. Some bench players you can expect to see for the Wildcats are guards Tyler Kalinoski and Tom Droney, and forwards Will Reigel and the high-flying, athletic Clint Mann. Davidson plays some great team basketball, can score inside good, and have upset Kansas this year, so I think they have a pretty good chance to do the same to Louisville.

#6. Murray State - The Racers are another one of the media's cinderella teams this year. These racists have two white men on the roster who have played a combined 26 minutes this year. Needless to say, I hope they lose the first round.

#11. Colorado State - The Rams start two everyday white players, and play two more off the bench. The Ram's best player and top scorer is junior guard Wes Eikmeier, who averages nearly 16 PPG. 6-5 junior forward Pierce Hornung is the Ram's 2nd white starter. Jesse Carr and Kaipo Sabas come off the bench for the Rams. I don't know much about them, so that's about all I can say. I hope they beat Murray State.

#3. Marquette - The all-black Golden Eagles love to press teams and run the into the ground. They play a very fast, exciting, attacking style of game, much like Iona did to BYU already this tournament.

# 14. BYU - The Cougars completed a massive 25 point comeback in their win in the play in game over Iona. The Cougars are led by forward Noah Hartsock, who leads the team in scoring, with 17 PPG. Hartsock is an athletic player, has a sweet turnaround jump shot, and can take the ball to the hoop, although he prefers his turnaround jump shot. Up and down freshman point guard Matt Carlino starts for BYU as well. Carlino has for the most part been really good this year, averaging 12 PPG, and shooting over 40% from three. Carlino can also drive the ball to the hoop well, and is a pretty good athlete. Brock Zylstra is the last white starter for the Cougars. Zylstra is a good defender; he's 2nd on the team with 40 steals on the year. Backup guard Craig Cusick, who is a steady point guard in his own right, and 6-11 Freshman Nate Austin also get into the game for some quality minutes for BYU. Their win over Iona gave them some confidence, and they should play Marquette really tough.

#7. Florida - The Gators start one white player this year, the versitile, high-flying, 3 point shooting big man Erik Murphy. He shoots over 44% from three, and scores 11 PPG for the up-tempo Gators, who are in love with the 3-ball this year. Cody Larson, another big man for Florida, might get into the game during the tournament. As I've said, the Gators live and die by the 3 point shot. If they make their three's they'll beat teams; if they don't, they'll get blown out.

#10. Virginia - The Cavaliers have experienced a little bit of a resurgence this year under Tony Bennett. Virginia starts two white players, guards Sammy Zeglinski and Joe Harris. Zeglinski is mostly at point guard for the Cavs, and Harris is an all-around player from his guard spot. Harris is is 2nd on the team with nearly 12 PPG, and Zeglinski is third with 9 PPG. Paul Jesperson is the only other white player who gets into the game for the Wahoos. The Cavaliers play some great defense, but they have trouble scoring enough points to beat good teams this year. This will be a big problem for them in the tournament. Virginia better play good defense on Florida's three point shooting, or else they may not be able to get back in the game.

# 2. Missouri - The Tigers have a small four-guard lineup, but they've run teams into the ground this year. I believe the Tigers are a legitimate championship contender this year, they love to run, press, and score, and then run some more, which is hard for a lot of teams to guard. Oh, and they don't have a white player who's good enough to see the court for them.

# 15. Norfolk State - Apparantly, there are no white men good enough to play or even coach for the very misnamed Spartans. That's weird, how did an all-black school end up with a white mascot? These racists sucks at basketball, and should be headed home by half time.

I’d love to see the Vermont Catamounts defeat the #1 seeded North Carolina this Friday…but realistically, I can’t see that happening unless the Tarheels shoot poorly and Vermont hits nearly every shot. Vermont has 12 losses this season, but they’ve won 15 of their last 16 games.

They have nothing to lose and everything to gain...

Here are the East and Midwest Regions! I'm not sure if Jimmy's been able to complete these are not, so I had to keep these brief. Jimmy, if you have these done, let me know and I'll take these down!

East Region

#1. Syracuse - The Orangemen lose the Big East Defensive Player of the Year, Fab Melo, for the tournament. This could affect their chances big time for winning a national title. Syracuse is all-black again this year, with no white players seeing any meaningful minutes at all. They should get through the first round regardless.

#16. UNC Asheville - Asheville returned a great white player in Matt Dickey, but he won't be enough against a loaded Syracuse squad.

#8. Kansas State - Frank Martin has another very black team, with only one white player, starting point guard Will Spradling, getting any time this year.

#9. Southern Miss - The Golden Eagle's basketball team is even blacker than their football team, if that's even possible. At least the football team let whites play at QB and Center. They can't even sit on the bench for basketball.

#5. Vanderbilt - Combo guard Brad Tinsley is again the only white player who gets any good minutes for the Commodores at all. He averages 9 PPG and over 4 assists per game. Tinsley is an all-around player for the Commodores, he distributes the ball very well, he can shoot the three, and can drive to the basket.

#12. Harvard - I don't know very much about Tommy Amaker's team, except that they only start 1 white player.

#4. Wisconsin - The Badgers start three white players this year, and may have four on the court at once. One of the Badger's best players is center Jared Berggren. He is also the team's best defender, leading them in blocked shots, and a close 2nd in steals. He is also a very skilled and athletic offensive player averaging 11 PPG for Wisconsin this year, including shooting 37% from three, and he's tied for 2nd on the team in rebounding. Talented sophomore two guard Josh Gasser is a great defender, and shoots the three ball very well, shooting over 43% for the year. Mike Bruesewitz starts at a forward spot for the Badgers. Bruesewitz has reealllly been struggling shooting the ball this year, only shooting 27% from three and 38% from the field. Sophomore guard Ben Brust gets some nice minutes off the bench for Wisconsin, as does 6-11 freshmen Frank Kaminsky. The Badgers continue to play their usual, sticky, physical defense, which is their greatest strength. They have had their games this year where their offense seems to go in the dump, and have been known to get run past in the tournament by fast paced teams like Cornell. Montana will try to play up-tempo against the slower-paced Badgers, and get them out of their game.

#13. Montana - I know the Grizz won the Big Sky Championship over Weber State. They start two white players in forwards Derek Selvig, and Mathias Ward. John Stockton's nephew Shawn comes off the bench too for Montana. Ward averages 11 PPG for Montana, and can get very hot from 3 point range, like he did in the Big Sky Championship game. Montana will try to speed up the Badgers, and whether they do this effectively will determine how close Montana stays in the game.

#6. Cincinnati - The all-black Bearcats have been very inconsistent this year. They live and die by the three, and with Yancy Gates inside. If the Bearcats start knocking down shots, they'll put a lot of distance between them and their opponents. I hope these all-black racists and their thug coach Mick Cronin get blown out.

#11. Texas - Texas uses one white player in the very athletic, high-flying senior Clint Chapman. He is still underused by Texas. The Longhorns have been very inconsistent this year. The game against Cincy should be a pretty ugly and up-tempo affair.
#3. Florida State - The Seminoles start two white players, and give playing time to one more. They can have three whites on court at once during games too. Luke Loucks starts at point guard for FSU. He has had a pretty up and down year, but really turned it on in the ACC Championship game against North Carolina, recording a double double Loucks can shoot the ball and distribute it very well. Deividas Dulkys starts at shooting guard for the Seminoles. Dulkys has also had an up and down senior year, but he seems to play really well against North Carolina, scoring a career high 33 against them in their first meeting. 7-0 senior center Jon Kreft is one of the first guys off the bench for Florida State, and brings some more size onto the floor for an already beefy Seminole frontcourt. The Seminoles have one of the best defenses in the country, and if Loucks and Dulkys can keep playing great, expect the Seminoles to make a deep tourney run.

#14. St. Bonaventure - I think these guys are an all black team from watching them for a minute, but I don't know anything about them.

#7. Gonzaga - The Zags still don't seem to care for playing white players again yet. True frosh point guard Kevin Pangos is the only white starter for Gonzaga, and he's the REAL DEAL for Gonzaga. He can distribute the ball well, and is a great spot up shooter. He can also drive the ball to the bucket too. John Stockton's son, David will come into the game as well at times. He is a very quick point guard, and makes some great passes. Stockton can also shoot the ball a little bit too. Other than these too, about three different white players have a chance to get into a given game for a few minutes. Next year, I think Gonzaga will be playing their white athletes more again.

#10. West Virginia - The days of Joe
Alexander, Kevin Pittsnogle, and Alex Ruoff are long gone in Morgantown. With Bob (t)Huggins as head coach, only one white player starts in Deniz Kelicli, who's also the only guy to see the court for them anymore. He's a pretty good player, and can score off of a nice hook shot, but he gets himself into foul trouble a lot of the time. I'd rather see the Zags win the matchup of the two formerly nearly all-white teams.

#2. Ohio State - The Buckeyes only have one white player who plays, but he' s a great one. Starting sophomore point guard Aaron Craft is the Big Ten Defensive player of the Year and an Academic All American. He plays some sticky defense(he averages over 2 steals per game), and is very athletic and quick. He also shoots a lot better this year than he had in the past. Craft distributes the ball very well, averages almost 5 assists per game to only to turnovers per game. He's also averaging 9 PPG game too.

#15. Loyola (MD)- I don't know anything about this first round blowout waiting to happen.

Midwest Region

#1. North Carolina - The Tar Heels boast ACC Player of the year in the athletic, high-flying Tyler Zeller. Zeller is an explosive player, who like his brother, can run the court better than any big man in the country, and can throw down some really nasty dunks. Zeller averages nearly a double double on the year, with 17 PPG on the year to go with nearly 10 rebound per game. The only other white player who gets minutes for North Carolina usually is Stilman White, the back up point guard. The health of Zeller's frontcourt mate John Henson will likley determine how far UNC gets this year.

#16. Vermont - The Vermont Catamounts come into the tournament off of a comfortable win over Lamar in the play in game. The Catamounts start 4 white players, and everybody who comes off the bench for them is a white man. Some players to watch for Vermont are Brian Voelkel, a different kind of two guard for the Catamounts. Voelkel almost never shoots the ball, but rather just passes and rebounds the ball, very well I might add. Four McGlynn comes off of the bench for Vermont, and his their leading scorer, and leading 3 point man. Forward Matt Glass and guard Sandro Carissimo are two more players to watch for Vermont. I think Vermont might be a little better than their 16 seed indicates, and if Carolina doesn't have John Henson ready to go, Vermont might be able to make this a game into the 2nd half, but Carolina has too much talent for the Catamounts to handle.

#8. Creighton - Creighton boasts All-America Candidate forward Doug McDermott, who's the team's leading scorer at 23 PPG, and the team's leading rebounder with 8 per game. McDermott is a very athletic forward who can make a variety of different shots. He can shoot threes well(nearly 50% from three), and he can drive the lane and get to the free throw line. Joining him in the starting lineup is guard Grant Gibbs, who transferred from Gonzaga. Gibbs was known mostly for his defense, but in the MVC Championship, he exploded for 20 points, so he can score if given the chance. Three point shooters Ethan Wragge and Avery Dingman are come off the bench for Creighton. Backup big man Will Artino also comes in off the bench. Creighton has the offensive firepower to compete with any team in the country, but do they have the defense? How well the defend will indicate how far they will get.

#9. Alabama - The all-black "Crimson" Tide have been pretty inconsistent this year, and I hope Creighton blows them out by 30.

#5. Temple - Only two white guards get playing time for Temple, but in their last game, they were 2/3 of the starting backcourt. The mainstay in the starting lineup is Argentinian Juan Fernandez, and the new comer is TJ DiLeo. This makes them twice as white as South Florida is.

#12. South Florida - The all-black Bulls demolished Cal for their first ever tournament win last night. They play a very stifling and physical brand of defense, which limits teams to less than 60 PPG. They are also very patient on offense. If South Florida gets a 10 point lead on you, it can feel like 20 points at times. They can't score very well though, which will be their undoing in the tournament.

#4. Michgan - John Beilein has Michigan back as a national power in Basketball again. The Wolverines start two white players, guard Stu Douglass and forward Zack Novak. Both of these guys can shoot threes very well, and Novak can also drive the lane sometimes too. Novak is 3rd on the team in scoring, with 10 PPG. 3 point shooting forward Evan Smotrycz, who seems to always be in some sort of foul trouble, comes off the bench for Michigan. Guard Matt Vogrich also comes off the bench for Michigan. Vogrich can shoot the three too, and he almost always scores off of a drive to the basket. Blake McLimans will get into the game for Michigan too. Michigan would be a LOT better if Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway didn't take more shots (780 combined) than all of those white players I just mentioned put together (717 shots). These two will be Michigan's undoing, for if they have one bad shooting game and don't give the ball to the white shooters, the Wolverines will lose, plain and simple.

#13. Ohio The Bobcats play one white player to my knowledge regularly. I hope Michigan blows them out!

#6. San Diego State - I haven't seen them play this year, but I think they play two white players. One, 3 point sharpshooter James Rahon, starts. The other, forward Garrett Green, starts sometimes for the Aztecs.
#11. NC State - The Wolfpack only play one white player most of the time, and that's the excellent 3 point shooter Scott Wood. Wood has proven he can score a lot when given the shots, but his black teammates sometimes love to play the game "keep the ball away from the white guy." Center James Vandenberg sometimes gets a few minutes here and there.

#3. Georgetown - John Thompson III stays true to his dad, only playing one token white guy, Nate Lubick. Lubick sometimes plays a lot, but mostly, he ends up getting pulled after playing about 4-5 minutes in both halves, and he nevers sees the floor again. I hope Belmont can blow these guys out!

#14. Belmont - I'm not very sure about Belmont, so I found Jimmy C's blurb on them from a week or two ago: "
what makes Belmont unique is their overall balance. they don't have any individual superstars, but rather they feature a team-oriented approach where any of 5 players are likely to be the leading scorer on a given night. 9 men (5 of whom are White) average double-figure minutes, and 5 players average 10-or-more points. senior guard Drew Hanlen is one of the nation's elite 3-point shooters, and their best post player is senior Mick Hedgepeth. black point guard Kerron Johnson is likely their best overall player."

#7. St. Mary's
- The Gaels have really blackened since their Sweet 16 appearance two years ago. They started off the year with just one white starter, the best player on the team, Matthew Dellavedova. He's the Gaels leading scorer, and he plays the whole game too. Eventually his fellow Australian teammate, Clint Steindl joined him in the starting lineup. Two more whites play for St. Mary's off the bench Beau Levesque and Mitch Young.

#10. Purdue - The Boilermakers have one of my favorite players in senior forward Robbie Hummel. Even after he's he knee surgeries on both of his knees, he's still a pretty impressive athlete. He can still throw down some dunks, and shoots three very well. Hummel is the engine that makes Purdue run. Ryne Smith is a great three point man for Purdue, shooting 43% from three. Travis Carroll is the big man that starts for the Boilermakers. 6th man of the Year in the Big Ten DJ Byrd comes off of the bench for Purdue, providing a spark to the Boilermakers. European big man Sandi Marcius comes off the bench for Purdue too. I hope the Boilers spring the upset on St. Mary's.

#2. Kansas- The Jayhawks are powered inside by athletic shot blocking big man Jeff Withey. Withey averages over 3 blocks per game, 7 rebounds, and 9 PPG as well. Three-point specialist Conner Teahan is the only other white Jayhawk who sees minutes for Kansas.

#15. Detroit- A pretty much all black team that represents their city well. Detroit plays a very up-tempo brand of basketball. They've been very inconsistent this year, but played their best basketball of the year when the knocked off Valpo in the Horizon Championship game. Kansas has way more talent than the Titans could ever hope to get.

Thanks for the update!

I've been really disappointed the past few years, though I recall during the Duke-Butler final in 2010 they often had 5-6 whites on the court.

Your welcome, Liverlips! I love College Hoops and enjoy doing the write-ups.

We already have a caste matchup on- Colorado State's three white starters against Murray State's 0. Sabas is starting today, who's the third white starter for the Rams.

The other two are Wes Eikmeier and Pierce Hornung, a local kid from Arvada

I believe Kaipo Sabas is technically Hawaiian. They also have a mixed race kid Dorian Green and black Will Bell

As an aside, Jesse Carr should be the starter but I think Kaipo's father is a big donor. You know how that goes.

Oh and how about that Pierce Hornung! 6 pts and 11 rebounds in the 1st half

Colorado State couldn't keep up with the Racers, and it looks like they're going to lose.

Davidson and their 4 white starters are going against Louisville right now on TBS. Cohen has been playing pretty well for Davidson so far.

Wisconsin and Montana are on TNT too.

Davidson is down 7, and Louisville doesn't have two of their better players in the game right now. The Wildcats haven't been hitting any threes today, going 2/12. They've missed a huge oppurtunity to be leading right now.

Davidson looks like they are going to lose to the Cardinals, it's because they haven't been able to throw the basketball in the ocean today, htting only 17 out of 53 shots. Ouch.

Jake Cohen and Clint Mann have played good today, but they're the only Wildcats who have showed up to play.

Some observations from the BYU / Marquette game.

Brandon Davies of BYU is one of the clumsiest affletes I have seen this season. There are many to choose from.

Charles Abuo, the other black BYU starter, is simply not good.

Noah Hartsock being in foul trouble most of the game has cost them any chance of winning.

Some rotund negro on Marquette just made an average layup plus the foul and processed to scream and beat his chest. Marquette is a truly a loathsome team.

Not a good day so far...

In the Davidson-Louisville game, Davidson's defense had the "playing defense while white syndrome" in the 2nd half, that coupled with their poor shooting doomed them.

I agree about Davies Freethinker... yet the media still thinks he's the best BYU's got. They play better with Abouo out of the game, Davies is only good for rebounding, and that's about it.

I have to agree too that the Tournament sucks so far. Only Wisconsin has won today for us.

not a caste matchup (only 1 white starter), but it looks like the fix is in in the syracuse vs unc-a game

In a close game down the stretch, the refs made 3 horrendous absolutely pathetic calls to help the orange win

-Didnt call a clear goaltend after the ball hit the backboard and was blocked
-Called a lane violation when there clearly wasnt one on a FT attempt
-On an inbound play, the ball without a doubt went of an orange afflete but called it off unc-a when the player wasnt even nearby

I saw this too, Claimjumper. Asheville did have 2 white players besides Matt Dickey that played during the game. Syracuse should've lost this game plain and simple. Asheville got robbed. I usually don't think games are fixed, but this one was terrible.

On the bright side, New Mexico is playing both of it's Australian white players rather heavily right now.

Anybody notice that CBS now charges 3.99 for the tourney online? I'm forced to watch these games on pirate feeds, more nickle and diming by major corporations...:frusty:

Yeah I noticed that white is right. Like CBS and Turner need any more money than they already have.:frusty:

Anyway South Dakota State starts at 6:30 on TruTV for those interested.

Hugh Greenwood had a nice game for New Mexico in their win today, with 12 points, four assists, and 6 rebounds.

Garrett Stutz must be playing with the "playing defense while white" syndrome. He's out of the game with 2 quick fouls.

Finally, SDSU and Baylor are about to tip off.

"Hahvard" was eliminated today in a tight game but VCU could be making another run as they just beat Wichita St. in game that came down to the last shot again.
