Early Thanksgiving games on today and the rest on Saturday.
Is there any team that could possibly draft him that would end him up in a Leonard/Hester/Gerhart situation? I wouldnt be surprised if the Vikings got him and got rid of Toby.
Oh my gosh....the announcers for the Iowa/Nebraska game are going to have to be sent off to reeducation camp. Referring to Rex Burkhead: "will have a spectacular NFL career", "very athlectic", after catching a pass and making a move "that's why I think he will have a wonderful NFL career, he can do so many things", "as good as Abdullah has been while Burkhead was hurt you can see how the Nebraska running game is just better with Burkhead in the lineup", "Burkhead would have been a serious Heisman candidate had he not been hurt"........unbelievable stuff.
I could see the Jaguars drafting him. Maurice Jones Drew is one of the top backs in the league, came into the season after holding out for a big contract, didn't get it. He has been injured the past few weeks, and they expect a few more. His contract doesn't end until after next season. By drafting Rex they could be giving Jones-Drew motivation to perform at a top level and not complain about the salary. His current backup, well right now the starter, is averaging under 3 ypc. Since Rex is likely to fall well below where he should go its not unlikely they would draft him.
He finished with 145 yards which put him at an even 1500 yards rushing for the season (with a bowl game to go.) And all of this behind an offensive line that's been absolutely decimated by injuries. In addition, he had to split carries for several games with Boykin. I think he could have hit the 2000 yard mark, all of these things considered, which would make even the most hardcore Caste slut take notice.Blankenship has 130+ yards rushing for Ohio with 10 mins left in the 4th quarter.
I thought I had to make mention of this somewhere. Last weekend, Florida, with Jeff Driskel out with an ankle injury, became the first FBS team ever to start 22 non white players. What a dubious "achievement" for the Gators, I bet their fans did not even notice it at all, or if they did, they probably cheered it; they finally got rid of every last unathletic white man on offense or defense.:mad2:
He was short-striding on one foot when he walked off the field. Seemed like a hurt toe maybe. If they go to 2OT, he can still get to 1,000.
But... Not any more.
Penn State wins.
the box score on espn says 179 yards today, and 821 coming in, which would put him at exactly 1,000 yards unless those are the wrong numbers. Hope his injury isn't serious, good to see at least a few of the top White backs from the past few years getting a chance to do something, Zwinak one of the few playing his actual position, with guys like Swope and Campanaro getting time at receiver.
