I'll start off by mentioning Ryan Whalen, Mckay Jacobson, Aaron Pflugrad, and Jeff Maehl. Feel free to add some of the guys you will be looking forward to this year!

Here's a short article on Pflugrad.




Aaron Pflugrad is one of those pesky receivers who just keep catching balls and before you know it, he has eight or nine catches for 90 yards or so.


Pflugrad, who transferred from Oregon to Arizona State, will make Sun Devil fans happy, and more importantly, he will make Arizona State quarterbacks, including fellow transfer Steven Threet, even happier.

staying up in the Northwest, Washington State's Jared Karstetter led the Cougars in receiving last year as a sophomore. and judging from images of him this spring, he's put in a lot of effort to get bigger and stronger in the offseason.

here are most of the White receivers who have a chance to make plays this fall in the Big Ten.

Graham Zug is penciled in as a starter for Penn State this fall. at 6-2, he possesses the magical caucasian talent of "deceptive speed."

as with so many White athletes, Northwestern's Jeremy Ebert seems to have been punished for being a versatile athlete with speed. look for Ebert to emerge as a big-play threat this fall after battling injuries last season.

Illinois redshirt freshman Steve Hull is a literal bright spot for the (gang)Fighting Illini, as he's the only White wideout on scholarship. not surprisingly, Hull has the best size-speed combo of the entirereceiving corps. he stands at 6-2, runs a 4.44 40, 4.16 shuttle,and7.00 cone-drill, and has a 35.5-inch vertical and 9-10 broad jump. despite these impressivenumbers, Hull may not even see the field except on special teams ...

Keith Nichol is another versatile athlete who has suffered because of being multi-talented. in the words of the caste system, he "doesn't have a true position." Michigan State may have finally decidedwhat to do withthe 6-2 speedster by putting him at wideout where his size, speed, and running ability should prove to be a difficult matchup for opposing secondaries.

Iowa's Colin Sandeman is poised for a break-out season after battling injuries a year ago.

Ohio State's Dane Sanzenbacher has patiently bided his time to become the man in the Buckeyes' passing game, and this should be his year. the senior has terrific speed and is known for being fearless across the middle.

Ohio State has another swift White receiver in Grant Schwartz. Schwartz is yet another example of versatility being punished in the world of the Caste System. possessing elite speed, toughness and the ability to play multiple positions on either side of the ball (cornerback or safety on defense, and wideout, tailback, or option quarterback on offense) as the below video indicates ...

Hawaii's Greg Salas is expected to be the go-to guy for them this fall. Salas possessesexcellent size and runsterrific routes, and he should have the chance to put up HUGE numbers in Hawaii's air-it-out offense.

With the outstanding numbers Salas has put up you would think he would be one of the top ranked receivers for the draft. That's not the case however. The fact that he plays in a pass happy offense and his skin condition makes him a late round prospect from all the "experts."

a bright spot last season despite being limited to playing in justnine game (tied for third on the team with 20 catches), Oklahoma State's Josh Cooper has already developed chemistry with the Cowboys new starting quarterback (Brandon Wheeden) and has been penciled in as the starter at the all-important slot position in OSU coordinator Dana Holgorsen's4-wide spead offense.

if history is an indicator and he stays healthy, the super-quick and shifty Cooper is poised to have a BIG season.

Scotty McKnight - Colorado - 76 for 895 & 6 TDs
Came on strong at the end of last season which will hopefully carry over into this year, his senior year. He'll play the 'Z' receiver and is listed as a 4.5 40 guy.

Alexander Torres - Texas Tech - 65 for 791 & 6 TDs
Finished strong last year as a red-shirt Freshman. Has good height at 6'-2" and should have a huge year for the high powered Tech pass offense.

Conner Vernon - Duke - 55 for 746 & 3 TDs
As a true freshman he came on strong as the season progressed. Has great size and speed (4.53). Can't wait to see more of this kid.

Robert Arnheim - Western Michigan - 59 for 701 & 3 TDs
Probably not a guy you'll hear much about but he's only a Junior and could put up big numbers this season.

Ryan Tannehill - Texas A&M - 46 for 609 & 4 TDs
The backup QB is a huge target at 6'-4". Should continue to develop as he learns the position more and more.

Colorado's Scotty McKnight has personified the views espoused by this website for his entire career.
unrecruited out of high school, McKnight had to join the Buffaloes as a walk-on ... all he's done since then is lead the team in receiving for three-straight seasons.

expect more of the same in his senior year.

while Freethinker posted about Texas Tech's Alex Torres, there is another White wideout who should make a bunch of plays for the Red Raiders ... that is, if Tuberville doesn't begin an immediate white-out like he's done pretty much everywhere else he's been.

sophomore Austin Zouzalik really came on strong toward the end of the season, with 85 total yards in their bowl game, leading the team with 92 yards on 7 catches against Baylor, and catching 4 balls for 40 yards and scoring a touchdown against Oklahoma.

arguably the fastest receiver on the roster, Zouzalik has posted a 4.38 40 and run a 10.7 100-meters.

Virginia Tech junior Danny Coale should already be a legend in the minds of the collegiate fanbase due to his incredible workout numbers. as it is, it's likely only CFers and hardcore Hokies know his name.

Coale-burner isa big-play threat every time he touches the ball, averaging over 20 yards-per-catch last season.

Lexington's Danny Coale continues to get things done the right way for
the Virginia Tech football program. Coale, whose 36 catches last season
were a record for a Tech freshman, was the Hokies' 2009 Ironman
Champion, strength and conditioning coach Mike Gentry announced Saturday
at the Hokies media day. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound Cole posted a
425-pound front squat - a position record. He ran a 4.43-second 40 and
recorded a vertical leap of 36 inches. Coale's work didn't surprise
Gentry. "He's a special guy in my opinion," said Gentry of Coale, whose
father, Jimmy, is the S&C coach at VMI. "He's a special combination
of mental and physical toughness. He's got great intelligence and he's
got great athleticism. There's not many guys who combined all those

thanks for the kind words, man. but we're all in this together, so i urge you to keep up the good work.

as for Zouzalik...coming out of spring practice, Austin was the back-up at the Y receiver, according to the Tech website. and sincetheRed Raiders'base offense uses a 4-wide set, and they almost never use a tight end except in goal line or short-yardage situations, i expect him to get a lot of action if he stays healthy.he isa likely starter if anyone gets hurt, as well, based on his talent and last year's resume.

that being said, with the Caste System (and Tubberville's record) anything (bad for White players) is possible.

I love all the pics! Looks like this year lacks some of the more high profile players we had last year(Shipley, Decker before he got hurt) but we have a good mixture of older and younger players as well as receivers who play flanker and some who are slot demons! It will be fun to see some of these guys develop.

Looks to be different than last year, when we knew we had some guys who would be top receivers in the nation and get drafted. Yet, the talent level looks excellent and will probably have some surprises like Blair White explode onto the scene.

the wheels fell off at Colorado State last season, and the questions remain un-answered going into the fall. one thing that will be certain is CSU's offense will be inexperienced: inexperienced at quarterback, inexperienced on the offensive line, and inexperienced at wideout. in fact, the returning wide receivers from last season for the Rams have a combined 6 starts, and one of those is by a player who is vying for the starting quarterback gig this season.

to add to the bizarre situation, the only proven commodity at wideout is a guy who'd never playedwide receiver before coming to CSU,Tyson Liggett.

aformer walk-on (go figure),hestarted just 5 games last season but ended up as the third-leaving receiver and was second with 3 touchdown catches. just 5-9, Liggett is yet another incredibly versatile White athlete who received zero scholarship offers out of high school despite earning All-State honors in football (3 times -where he won 2 State Championships), basketball (3 times - and he once scored 57 points in a game), and baseball (4 times - 2-time team MVP). just imagine if he had talent.

Liggett dominated in the Rams spring game, scoring two touchdowns and the game-winning 2-point conversion, and is virtually the only player who is certain of his starting role on the offensive side of the ball.

arguably the best overall athlete on the team (he won the slam dunk contest with a 360-slam as a freshman in addition to all his other accolades), junior T.J. Borcky started one game (and played in seven) at wide receiver a season ago when he wasn't backing up at quarterback. now battling for the starting quarterback job, Borcky will likely figure in the mix at wideout if he gets beat out.

with so little experience at the position, plenty of young talent has a chance to crack the rotation including redshirt sophomore Alex Johnson, redshirt freshman Michael Liss, and true freshman Thomas Coffman. Coffman is often called "the next Wes Welker," and if he comes close to earning that comparison the Rams will be ecstatic.

one othertrue freshmancould figure in the mix, though he may also end up as a safety or as a quarterback. Bobby Borcky is the younger brother of T.J., and like his older brother he has the size, speed, and talent to play multiple positions. he was recruited as an athlete.

BYU has a tandem of talented White receivers who should make a lot of plays this fall.the aforementioned McKay Jacobson is likely to be paired up with the 6-2 LukeAshworth.

while a bit undersized (5-11), Jacobson has [/i]explosive[/i] speed. he averaged over 24 yards-per-catch last year despite battling a hamstring injury for much of the season. Ashworth provides a nice complement as a possession reciever, offering a much bigger target, especially in the redzone.

another potential contributor is sophomore Rhen Brown. Brown (10.8 speed in the 100-meters) could emerge as a wideout, or he maymake the moveto cornerback.

Washington State's Gino Simone started 11 games last year as a true freshman. blessed with tremendous speed and agility, Simone should only improve his production after spending the offseason in the weight room.

Don't forget about Nebraska converted TE Mike McNeill, who will now be out wide. He should be one of QB Zac Lee's(or whoever wins the job) favorite targets this year.

Fresno State's Devon Wylie is possibly the fastest wide receiver in the NCAA this year, with a reported 4.25 40.

one of my favorite wide receivers (along with Maehl, Jacobson, and Coale), Wylie is not just a speedster. he's a physical player who isn'tbashful aboutblocking downfield. an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands, expect FSU to get Wylie the rockin the kicking gameand ona few trickplaysas well as in the passing game this year.
