As luck would have it, just as Gerhart gets his chance and is doing well, the Vikings get stuck with a black quarterback who's beyond terrible, even for black quarterback standards. I mean, whether you are a coach or scout, your head must so deeply buried in the caste sand to think this Webb guy can play QB at the NFL level. Insane to say to the least.

Now I wonder if Gerhart will get the ball at all in the second half.

I think the two coaches are on the phone at half time working out a deal of how to finish the game without turning it into a fiasco.

This Webb kid is horrible....the only reason he is even on an NFL roster is because of his race and the never ending quest for the "next great, athletic, black QB"....seriously....its laughable. The only reason I will watch the second half is to hope to see Toby's first 100 yard gain....he only needs 32. Wouldn't it be ironic if Toby's first 100 yard game is the last game Brett Favre played in....wow.

Take it easy. It's Webb's first start at QB. He broke a dual threat throwing/passing record in the FBS as Tebow did. The field is horrible tonight to get comfortable and get your footing for a guy who is better throwing on the roll out. Gerhart is a solid third down back, but he is more like Steven Jackson, Michael Turner or Peyton Hillis as a runner without Hillis' unbelievably elite receiving skills. IE. basically a featured runner who I predict would prove to be amongst the top 10 tailbacks in the league. Booker might have slightly better long speed and I think he showed skills previously for the Packers in pre-seasons as a receiver. With little time left they decided to give Gerhart the breather and go with the poor man's Reggie Bush or the VERY POOR man's Danny Woodhead. They probably don't want to run Gerhart into the ground in these conditions with no chance at the playoffs.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

we can compare how Webb does tonight to how Matt Flynn looked last night. so far, Webb doesn't look nearly as comfortable facing the rush, nor nearly as decisive with his decision making, as FLynn did a night ago in his rookie debut.

I lost some respect for Favre for trying to pick up that party girl when he has been with his wife, who seems like a nice lady, since H.S and through her breast cancer, most importantly he's married. If you can't control your sex drive with his fame and fortune, go to a strip club and make out with a stripper and don't bring her home with you. That's less immoral than trying "hit that" "hostess". I wouldn't go to a strip club and do that, but I'm in a different position and not a superstar playing with a bunch of happy go lucky guys at "a game" for a career in the NFL. nice cutback by Gerhart there to pick up a yard from nothing. the Viking o-line hasn't looked good thus far in the second half.

that was the best play call of the night since Minnesota inserted Webb into the lineup. they've run Gerhart on first down so often, that every Bear defender bit on the play fake. Webb showed his running ability to pick up the score on the bootleg.

This is the case for a lot of teams that are down by 20. Webb being in there will make it even harder on Toby.

Well the Vikes are behind, so the best we can hope for is they'll be forced to still find a balance and keep throwing quite a bit. If Webb can complete even 40% of his throws in these conditions and have a couple downfield, it could start to keep the Bears D a little honest and open up a few lanes for Toby.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

you already know the answer to this, mate. Webb has already received more hype and praise from the media (even before making an appearance this evening) than Flynn received, even after playing well.

After seeing that moderately successful running play by the Bears, it reminds me of how well Peyton runs with the toss. I wonder why Cleveland stopped doing that. Toby could benefit tremendously from that play as well.

I was thinking of Bigunreal's fantastic albeit delusional theories of all the games being fixed. One thing he fails to rationalize is why would head coaches or coordinators purposely screw up and thus get fired? I think they need to eat as well!

Very true, but Flynn is a huge exception to the rule for a first start. The field conditions are horrible tonight too. I'm as disgusted as most of you guys when I see all the fawning over Tarvaris, and Duhmarcus and only a blind person would think Rush's comments aren't true. I was pretty quick to figure out Tarvaris was a bust, but admit I was a bit slow on the call on Duhmarcus.
