From a pure ethnicity standpoint, he could be as white as any other player that we follow here on Caste Football, but his "style" is at odds with what we would typically find in a white player. The extensive tatoos also make him look more like Shawn Merriman than Jason Witten.

So now blond Jeremy Shockey is black because he has tatoos....and Sam Bradford and Danny Woodhead are "not white" because they have some Injun blood in them.....geez......we're gonna be down to the Mannings and Welker to cheer for.....LOL

The rule of thumb here has always been that we root for the athletes we want, with no "litmus test." There's always going to be a gray area between players who are clearly white and those who clearly aren't. Personally, I root for Shockey but havenever likedhis style, and have rooted for Tedy Bruschi and others of mixed race backgroundwho conduct themselves well. If you want to root for Hernandez that's fine and it should be respected by everyone else here.

Tough I think Woodhead should get around 40% of the carries with Green Ellis picking up the rest of the slack.

Only 40%? So then you must think law firm is a better pure runner than Danny? Not me. I think in a caste-less world Danny would be getting nearly all the carries with Law Firm spelling him and doing some short yardage duty.

I agree. There is no reason why Woodhead can't handle the majority of the teams carries. The "too small" tag is bull because Maurice Jones Drew and Ahmad Bradshaw are the same size as Woodhead and look at the amount of carries they get. Warrick Dunn was even smaller than Woodhead at 187lbs yet he amassed five 1,000 yard seasons in his career because he was given sufficient carries.

I think he is talking about the situations to run in (not including receptions) some are more favorable for Law Firm. Of course Danny can push the pile and be an MJD, but, look at Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones, Jones has more carries, but Charles has more yards. IMO that would be the ideal situation for Woodhead. Why be MJD and have running situations that lower your ypc when he can be like Charles. MJD is avg 4.4 ypc and Charles is avg 6.4. Hopefully that is what the situation is next year, right now its too unbalanced, Law Firm has 200 touches and Danny has 113, while Jones only has slightly more carries than Charles. Woodhead did come in around the 3rd game and took him a week or two to get adjusted to the offense, and the Patriots have more weapons and run less, both Charles and Jones have over 200 carries, Law Firm hasn't reached 200 yet, he has 190 attempts and 10 receptions. Kansas has over 487 total carries to New England's 386. Would be nice if the Pats had more carries, with Woodhead receiving them.

Id rather see Hillis as the feature back that carries the team and Woodhead as the scatback that splits carries like Charles but still goes over 1k and has one of the top ypc in the league. I don't think BB is going to give all of the carries to one back anyway, but I don't think Law Firm will be as productive next year, so we could see a significant increase in carries to Danny, unless he decides to bring in another guy.

Toby Gerhart already 4 rushes/26 yards in the game's opening drive. Could a 100yd game be in the works?

I hope the Vikings will keep feeding him the ball all night!

What a start to the game. Gerhart looking like his old self from his Doak season last year, but now in the NFL. I think Gerhart may have had some "first start" jitters. I think he stays on his feet on the run where he could have had a long one if it was latter in the game. He broke a nice tackle from Julius Peppers earlier. Gerhart just needs carries to get in a rythem as he isn't an ideal "change of pace" back, he's a workhorse featured back.

What the hell is a "cold weather running back"? What a a$$h...

Go Toby!!!!!!

Ya darn right. It has to do with him needing carries to get in a rythem. His instincts and creativity get better the more carries and comfortable he gets!

Great to see Toby Gerhart starting tonight! I hope he continues to do well and he goes over 100 yards rushing. Blacks are not known for being fond of cold weather, so maybe that is what Tirico meant. At least that will be how I interpret it.

Another note, after last night's prime time game when 2 white RBs where prominently featured and did well, we have another starting tonight. So, the setting is perfect. I really hope Toby does well.

If only Hillis and the Browns could've gotten a PT game, that would've been the clincher.

He said it to explain why he might be running so well, while the defense was slow catching up. The footing is icy out there, did you see the reciever catch it and slide about ten feet?

Spiro somebody, a rare White employee on the NFL Network, referred toDan Connolly as a"practice squad specialist" as Connolly's kick return was being shown. On ESPN, "Boomer" Berman did his "rumblin, bumblin" schtick as it was shown and mockingly calledConnolly "Bronco Nagurski."

Could Leslie Frazier be another Tony Dungy or Jim Caldwell? I've been nothing but impressed with his decisions as coach so far. I think he realizes that Tarvaris is not the answer and will go to the exciting Joe Webb next year. I think he'll continue to give Gerhart more work than Childress did. Heck maybe Adrian Peterson leaves via trade or isn't resigned to help with the salary cap management in the next couple years.

The Bears are the worst team in the league from a caste perspective with that proud Black Panther coach on the sideline. The Bears have destroyed more potential star white offensive skill players careers more than any other team in the history of the NFL. And Hatie does it all with his proud sneering and pretending to be "fair" with the caste system disguising it and blinding the sheeple.

Close behind the Bears in my least favourite list are the Steelers, Jets, Redskins, Bucs and I'm really starting to dislike the caste joke Giants too when they were formally my favourite team.

Some caste comments from Jaws on Gerhart as I finish this post.

It's looking like it will be a great night by Toby! Let's try to keep this thread positive and ignore the retarded comments by the announcers!

Tirico had to pipe in right after Jaworski with his own derogatory comment. 50 yards rushing in the first quarter isn't too shabby for a plodding, sustainer with no big play ability.

I want to give a big Shout out to Colonel Reb for mentioning that if Toby Gerhart hit 50 yards it would be the first time in decades that 3 white RBs rushed for 50 in the same weekend! With Tim Tebow that's 4 white players with over 50 yards rushing this weekend!

Call me sick of the smooth and silky Mulatto errr Italian-American Tirico. It's almost as he has cue cards for stereotyping to prompt the two donkeys to chime in. You know until he had a plethora of 100 yard games Hillis would be subjected to this crap too....

It is really pathetic isn't it.....the man rips off a 20 yard run....stiff-arming one defender and punishing another.....and the first commenst are "he's not explosive....Peterson would have taken that big hole and gone to the house, etc.". Its as if they are afraid Toby is gonna show up Peterson tonight. I just wish he could rip off an 80 yard TD run so I could listen to the silence. He's a rookie and has 50 yards rushing in the first quarter and nothing but back-handed "compliments" like "he's a sustainer but he's not gonna give you the explosive big run".....unbelievable.

Mckinney was just badly beaten and Farve was just slammed hard to the turf. I don't know why Farve is starting. The club is going nowhere and he isn't coming back. You might as well see what the rookie has.....

Bryant Mckinney singlehandidly doing what no one player has ever been able to do - knock far out of his career.

This announcing is so anti-Gerhart that I have to now search for that red angry-faced smiley. Gerhart's big run followed by,"If Peterson would have been in it would have been a bigger run".

The Vikings other starting sumo tackle, Loadholt, is bad too. Julius Peppers has been owning him so far.

Forte: 8 rushes for 40 yards (5 ypc) 14 long

Gerhart 11 rushes for 57 yards (5.1 ypc) 21 long

But after Forte ran for his 14 yard gain...nothing but praise...."I like this kid Forte"....geez

And now we have a "young, athletic QB" for the Vikings so Toby will probably get 5 more carries the rest of the night while the affrolete runs around like a chicken with his head cut off, holding the ball like a loaf of bread.....LMAO
