It's nice to see Zack Follet given a fair oppurtunity to start. It looks like he's made the most of it. His racial apprenticeship appears to be over already.

Zack Follett "already has earned" the starting weak-side linebacker job, according to Lions beat writer Tom Kowalski.

Follett was considered the heavy favorite going into camp, and he's done nothing to lose the job to Jordon Dizon. The hard-hitting Follett won't be playing all three downs, so he's not a player to target in IDP leagues.

I'm no expert but it seems to me the few white guys that play on defense, and most of them are linebackers, rack up a sh*tload of tackles. I think every team needs one hard working, over-achieving, blue-collar, non-stop motor, stiff-hipped, guy on defense. Someone has to make the tackles, not every black RB / receiver hightails it to the out-of-bounds line when they get the ball. Someone's got to make a tackle once in a while.

White defensive players almost always rack up more tackles than their black counterparts, who get all kinds of acclaim for making the occasional big (flashy) play. Especially on the d-line, I've been checking the tackling totals more of late and most of these guys pale in comparison (pun intended) to the productivity and consistency of Whites.

Wendling is listed at strong safety behind the uber-talented duo of C.C. Brown and Ko Simpson. No way he could pass up those two, who are brimming with ultra-affleticism, wiggle, upside, and room-brightening smiles. If he really, really works hard, he might be able to fill up space on the field as a WSTD.

Detroit Lions:

QB: 3 white QBs: 1 white starter
All three of the Lions QBs are white. They have a lot invested in former 1st overall pick from last year- Matthew Stafford. Stafford showed some encouraging signs at the end of last year- and showed Favre like toughness- while playing through a shoulder injury in leading his team to a late season victory. Hopefully this team will pass the RACIST HATIEFUL BLACK BEARS in the NFC North. Veteran Shaun Hill has been a great fill in QB when he's played, but young Drew Stanton remains a work in progress IMO.

RB: 0 white RBs
Detroit has ZERO white RBs or FBs. I will mention that two Detroit RBs are in the league by merit. Jahvid Best was the best big play threat as a rusher in this year's draft and is a VERY exciting player with amazing instincts and vision as a runner and nice receiving skills. Best might not be able to be a 20+ carry a game workhorse back though. Best isn't as consistent as Gerhart at moving the chains and virtually never losing yards and ramming over tacklers in short yardage/goal line situations. Maurice Morris was a former 2nd round pick who is now 30 y.o, but he remains an efficient role player tailback. Kevin Smith took a huge step backwards last year and looked awful, but he'll probably remain in the league for years- based on his rookie season and top of the third round draft status. Aaron Brown is another example of a young, black RB- whom plenty of young white RBs would out produce if actually allowed on rosters.

WR/ TE: 0 white WRs, 5 white TEs: 0 white starters
Somehow the National Farce League manages to have a team with 4 white TEs on their roster- who are all BACKUPS lol. The team should be starting Tony Scheffler due to his elite receiving skills b/c he also does a solid job blocking. Scheffler seems to be underutilized no matter what team he's on. The Lions prefer to start Brandon Pettigrew- who they invested the 20th overall pick on in 2009- and is probably a better blocker than Scheffler despite not being as much an offensive threat. The Lions also have H-Back/ TE Richard Dickson- who looks to be a solid check down receiver, but he's on injured reserve. Dickson could also move to FB- or even run the ball in an emergency. The other white TEs are Jake Nordin (injured) and Will Heller. Rookie WR Tim Toone was practice squaded, but should have made this roster over the 4th string TE. Maybe next year, Toone will get a chance over a player like WR Stefan Logan (if he under performs as a returner)- or maybe a serviceable veteran like Bryant Johnson due to Toone's speed and upside. I'm not holding my breath though.

OL: 5 white OL: 3 white starters:
The Lions have the underrated veteran, Jeff Backus, starting at LT- they have 4 other white O-lineman including rookie OT Jason Fox from Thug U.

DL: 1 white DL: 1 white starter
Kyle Vanden Bosch has been to the Pro Bowl before as a DE, he is entering the later part of his prime, but is still very good and underrated. The Lions also drafted the hyped Ndamukong Suh, he's talented, but it remains to be seen if he will underperform. I somehow doubt he'll become a huge bust though, the way DeWayne Robertson and other overhyped black DTs have. The fans only remember white busts however.

LB: 2 white LBs: 1 white starter
Zach Follett somehow dropped to the 7th round last year (supposedly due to an injury history), but has played his way to a starting OLB job in just one year. I'm guessing he will become an average to above average starter. The Lions also picked up LB/TE Spencer Havner from the Packers who will be tried at LB.

DB: 1 white DB: 0 white starters
John Wendling is an amazing athlete with sub 4.5 speed, who can be seen on Youtube smoothly hurdling a 66 inch hurdle. He could work his way to playing time in Detroit as a SS- as C.C Brown is only solid, but FS looks to being manned down by 2nd round pick from 2009 Louis Delmas, who had a nice rookie season.

Special Teams: 3 white players. Not much excitement talking about these positions, but veteran Jason Hanson has been in the league since 1992 and should make the HOF. With less and less whites making the HOF, even kickers making it have to give us CFers some appreciation.

Detroit has 19 white men on the entire roster- and they have 6 white starters. They have only two white starters on defense and they have no white starters at any caste position.

Hey Gun, there areplenty of white defensive players all throughout America who have that same relentless drive, smarts, and physical skills. Too bad most of them never get past the High School level. They are weeded out by the recruiting "services" and then ignored by coaches and scouts. Your insurance agent, your realtor, your accountant, might have been great players, but hey, maybe in your mind it's a small price to pay in order to assure that a black temporarily is able to leave the ghetto.

Maybe Gunther Cunningham is a man who is occasionally driven to use a
hyperbole, but that's not often the case.



The Detroit Lions defensive coordinator gushed on Thursday when he
talked about Kyle Vanden Bosch, the team's prized pickup in free agency.
Vanden Bosch was all over the field in the Lions' season-opening loss
at Chicago, finishing with 11 tackles. He chase running backs down
across the field on screen passes and tackled wide receivers from behind
downfield.



"I've coached this game a long time and I've coached some really good
players, I've been really fortunate and a few of them are in the Hall of
Fame -- in fact, more than a few -- and I think this is the best football player I've ever been around in my life,'' Cunningham said, according to Tom "Killer"Â￾ Kowalski of
MLive.com. "You can talk about stats and sacks, but put on the tape and
watch that game. It's the most unbelievable effort I think I've ever
seen in 30 years of coaching by any position player. Derrick Thomas had
(seven sacks against Seattle), but it's not about the sacks, it's about
the relentless attitude.



"There was one play when he had three guys around (Bears receiver Devin
Aromashodu) and couldn't get him to the ground. (Vanden Bosch) rushes
the passer 10 yards up the field, they grabbed him and jerked him down,
he rolled up and sprinted 30 yards downfield and killed the guy. That
guy still hasn't practiced this week. I can't say enough about him. He's
a gentleman, he's a professional.



"After the game, I saw him by the bus and said, 'Kyle, here's the deal.
You have to take some time off of practice. I can't get you out, you've
got to do it.' And he looked at me point blank and said, 'Well, I can't
do it either so I'm going to practice.' And he played 79 plays, which
is unheard of. I don't know what else to add to that, other than I'm
honored to be able to coach him.



"I could go back through a list of players that I've coached, and
they're all great, but I've never seen one like this. Ever."Â￾



I was at Soldier Field for the game and Vanden Bosch was extremely
impressive. Bears offensive linemen talked during the week before the
game about him having the best motor in the league. They weren't
kidding. Cunningham saw what they were talking about. Better than DT?
Well, he was a ferocious edge rusher. Vanden Bosch clearly is the best
defensive player the Lions have had in some time and he makes them
instantly better.

Carpenter, 27, is now on his fourth NFL team. The Lions are banged up at his position, but "Barbie" won't upgrade their annually flagging run defense.

I watched him with the Fins, and although he displayed excellent speed and his physical gifts seem to be there, he played reserved, if you know what I mean. If he's going to ever break out, he needs to find the fire that he had at Ohio State and play the breakneck style that he used to. Otherwise, this might be his last stop.

Weenieworld notes an accomplishment by a White player as only Weenieworld can:

Lions LT Jeff Backus has made 160 consecutive starts. It's a remarkable streak, especially when you consider that Backus annually grades out in the bottom third of left tackles. He's under contract through the 2011 season, but will be 34 years old in September. The Lions should be looking to develop an upgrade after Jason Fox flopped in his rookie year.

Haha Jason Fox yet another overrated sumo. I think the big problem with a lot of the top defensive and offensive sumos throughout college is that they don't work as hard as some of their white counterparts. Think about it recent hyped white guys have lived up to the hype(Joe Thomas, Jake Long, Bryan Bulagahe's had rough patches buthas been as solid as you can expect from a rookie startingfor a playoff team. I predict both Anthony Castonzo and Gabe Carimi will start as rookies and do well.

Lions WLB Zack Follett (neck) is not expected to play football again.
Follett admitted as much in an online video posted after he took undeserved potshots at Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler on a radio show. A seventh-round draft pick in 2009, Follett's career will end after 31 tackles and five starts.
