Cinci is one of the "media's teams" that have gone down in flames! Dallas is another!

When the Bengals first signed Owens, ESPN had 24-7 live feeds of the practice facilities, perpetual "bottom ticker updates,"Â￾ constant TV coverage with "analysts"Â￾ like Mark Schlereth salivating like a Caste Doberman in anticipation. During Owens' first press conference, it was repeatedly implied that Cincinnati had been instantly elevated to a "favorite to win the Superbowl."Â￾

Now they're constantly bickering on the sidelines and playing worse with each passing week. Shucks. Somewhere, I hope Matt Jones is laughing at Carson Palmer, Marvin Lewis, and their pampered compilation of reality TV "stars."Â￾

The mind of a DWF: "No, Matt Jones as the #1, with the drafting of Riley Cooper to be the #2- and with Jordan Shipley drafted to be the slot machine- would undoubtedly bring about worse results for this awesome primadonna team. Owens doesn't get targeted an alarming amount per catches made and effort given- he doesn't cry and slack like a primadonna- when he doesn't get things exactly as he likes and is good for team chemistry. Yep, the Bengals should coddle players like Pacman Jones who's the likely perpetrator of an attempted murder that left a man paralyzed and beats up people at strip clubs and carries unlicensed guns around b/c he has upside. Yep, a guy who probably snorted coke a few times (like a large portion of folks did in the 70s and 80s)- and got caught just once and then cleaned up his ways was too much for coddler Marvin Lewis to handle. Yep, as the guy who attacked Jacob Hester while at LSU- Matthew J. Darnell "my hero" of Yahooligan Rivals says- "Chris Henry could have been a role model" if he hadn't died a tragic death. Matt Jones, yep he's just "powder"! Women beaters who carry unlicensed guns around and/ or beat up people at strip clubs with their entourage could have been a role models though. Cedric Benson is probably the league MVP as he averages 3.6 YPC. Andre Smiff isn't out of shape and grossly overpaid...Yep there is no agenda at all here people and the Bengals success proves what's in my thick head right!"

f**k...

Bengals placed S Tom Nelson on the reserve/non-football illness list.

A special teamer earlier in the season, Nelson had seen time at both safety and corner of late with the Bengals plagued by injuries. The team has not disclosed the nature of Nelson's illness.

Maybe as a sane white man, he has gotten violently ill over the conduct and antics of the black players on the Bungles, notably T.O. and Ochostinko.

This just in, Marvin Lewis defends/downplays T.O.'s dissing of the coaching staff:

CINCINNATI (AP)â€"Marvin Lewis is defending Terrell Owens(notes) a day after the receiver pointed a finger at the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff for the team's lousy season.

Lewis played down those comments on Wednesday and said it's unfortunate Owens gets criticized nationally for speaking his mind.
<DIV id=sidebar>

On his cable television show with teammate Chad Ochocinco(notes) the night before, Owens said there's been a lot of underachieving from the owner on down. He also said the coaches are responsible for how the players perform. Owens isn't backing down from his comments, but he acknowledges that he probably shouldn't have said it.

The Bengals (2-11) have tied the club record with 10 straight losses heading into a game Sunday against Cleveland (5-8). The losing streak started in Cleveland on Oct. 3.

Owens has done this millions of times before. I would think this time he has a little different agenda. I'm guessing he wants to bring the ratings up on his reality crapola with his stupid sidekick, Chad Ochostinko. The show is still on the air so the at least some DWF's must be watching it.

Will Carson Palmer be replaced by a black QB?

Maybe the "great" McNabb, Tarvaris or Newton?

Deadlift, I hate to say it but Palmer is done. He was very good early in his career but he doesn't have any arm strength anymore and he's subpar. I don't know who the Bengals will replace him with but hopefully not Newton. That will spell disaster.

The Bengals should be completely overhauled, starting with Marvin Lewis, but with owner Mike Brown's longstanding commitment to doing things the wrong way and his endless fond embrace of thugs and criminals, it's hard to expect much.

One of the few positive things the Bengals have going for them is Jordan Shipley. I'd like to see him become a number two receiver though they'd have to get rid of one of the two clowns for that to happen. The probably won't get Andrew Luck but maybe could pick up Jake Locker whose stock has dropped considerably.

It won't surprise me if Palmer, Owens and Chad Johnson are all gone next year, except that Mike Brown can always be counted on to do the wrong thing. They need to take a look at how quickly the Falcons and Dolphins turned things around after dumping coal black regimes, and notice what the Colts, Patriots and Packers have in common in sustaining competitive teams on a yearly basis.

Don, Palmer is as good as gone. He won't take a pay cut and they'll be looking for an upgrade for sure. Owens is signed for only one season so hopefully that benefits Shipley.

They might pick up Ryan Mallett, who I think won't be as good as Locker. A Locker to Shipley combination would be lethal.

If the Bungles pick up Mallett, then they had better get basically an entire new O-line as well, as Mallett is one of the most immobile QB's I have seen. That, and scattershot accuracy on medium-range throws. Best to overhaul the O-line and get sprinters that can do the necessary 60 yard routes.

Yeah I am not sold on Mallet either. I definitely think he will need a lot of work. I would like to see The Bengals pick up Kellen Moore or Andy Dalton. Pat Devlin could be an interesting pick?

I kinda of detest Palmer. He is an affeletic enabler of the highest order. He could have showcased Matt Jones more in preseason. He could have thrown more to Jordan. But noooooo.....this guy enabled clowns like Ocho stupido, and the other washed up, afraid of going over the middle affeletic clown known as TO.

Glad they had a losing season. As far as righting the ship. I don't think think they have the rudimentary intelligence to do so. All one has to look at is the signing of the the affeletic wonder Andre Smiff!!! Good God, Bungles management giving this black lump of lard millions to squat on yard lines simply boggles the mind.

Hopefully now that Marvin Lewis is done underachieving in Cincinnati they bring in a competent staff and move away from Lewis` wet dream of creating a coal black Ravens knockoff roster filled to the brim with loud mouthed thugs.

They've slowly started to become whiter over the last few years, hopefully with a new coach that trend continues longterm.

Well, waiting for the shoe to drop on Marvin "me likes me affelets' Lewis career. I have a feeling the brain trust that is the owner, his daughter and GM may want to give Marvin another year to right the ship and show Andre Smiff prodigious talents.

hmm... oh well, Bengals will continue to suck. i just hope that Shipley will get a bigger role with the impending T0/85 (or both) move.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Marvin Lewis is now expected to return as Bengals head coach in 2011.

"The two sides expect to resolve any issues within the next 24 hours," reports Schefter. Lewis was previously reported to be on the outs, due in large part to owner Mike Brown's unwillingness to pay a viable scouting department. The conditions of Lewis' return are unknown, but he's sure to get a new contract. The move is still surprising. While the Bengals are keeping a good head coach, a mutual parting always seemed like the best option for both sides.

It appears he'll be going nowhere. The Bengals have determined he much like Malcolm Dungy, Herm Edwards and Denny Green just needs more time to give over the hump. Rumor from BSPN has been Lewis wants more personnel control and to decide on his coaching staff if he is to return. Look for another purging of white players and coaches reminiscent of when he first arrived to follow shortly.

new development:

Head coach Marvin Lewis' future with the Bengals is reportedly "in serious jeopardy" after talks broke off Tuesday afternoon.

The sides hoped to resolve their issues in two meetings Tuesday morning. Instead, Lewis left the Bengals complex, perhaps never to return. Contrary to previous reports, it's not believed that an indoor facility was a sticking point. The main issue remains owner Mike Brown's bare-bones, throwback approach to staffing and scouting.

Must only have white guys doing the staffing and scouting.

Actually that's true! Talking to Bengals fans I take it they mean something a bit different though. Supposedly their owner is still living in the 1950's when you only needed a couple scouts to hit the nearby Colleges and time some guys on the track.
