the complete absence of Edelman is more than bizarre ... especially when you consider that reports from around the Pats training camp indicated that Edelman's improvementhas been phenomenal and that hehas beendoing a lot of first-team work with Welker and Moss.

i'd say this sucks, but that wouldn't begin to describe it.

wow. i just realized that Ray "Bubba" Ventrone hasn't made an appearance for the Patriots, either.

aside from the two quarterbacks and one tight end, New England hasn't had a single White skill position player see the field tonight.

Jordy Nelson has 3 catches for 88 yards and a TD and Jerheme Urban has 4 for 69!

also, John Kuhn got a TD on a short run.

EDIT: make it 5 for 89 for Urban!Edited by: backrow

Bellichick only changed his OL to all-white less than three seasons ago. Gee, I wonder if that "risky" caste move paid off? His defensive rosters have only featured a handfull of white players under his tenure.

Some guys I can recall under Bellichick are LB Ted Johnson, LB Bruschi, LB Vrabel, DT Mike Wright, S Shawn Mayer, and LB Monty Beisel. Pretty horrible. I'm sure there were some other DT's and DE's that never got playing time.

Richard Seymour has been average for 5 seasons, but is still the toast of the NE media. Jarvis Green has been your typical black 1st round defensive bust, and the very average Ty Warren is also nothing special.

All the while, Bellichick passes over guys like Connor Barwin and Clay Matthews in the draft in favor of a stick figure safety like Pat Chung....although their other high selection, DT Ron Brace out of Boston College, is actually a decent player.

Other than Welker at WR, Bellichick has screwed several other white WR's in favor of boring black scrubs....guys like Tim Dwight, Kevin Kasper, and Chas Gessner all "played" for short periods with the Pats. Actually, I think Gessner was cut more times than Jerehme Urban.

Their TE position has been coal black starters for a decade (Jermaine Wiggins, Daniel Graham, and Ben Watson)....with white backups like Christian Furia, Kyle Brady, and David Thomas.

Personally, I hope the superbowl this season is Packers VS. Colts / Texans...the Patriots completely lost me after "demoting" Bruschi and letting Vrabel walk for peanuts....in favor of ultra-scrubs like Gary Guyton and permanantly injured Shawn Crable.

Not a single white starting this year for the Patriots on defense! Just the way the NFL likes it.

wait they have a guy named jarvis green on defense and an offensive guy benjarvus green-ellis (he wanted his dad's and mom's name), wait they are both from Louisiana, maybe Bellicheck likes to hire people from the same family haha jk. Brother from another mother.

Bellicheck is a weird guy to figure out. I wonder if he makes all of the decisions on personell or if it is from higher upEdited by: dwid

Watching the Saints-Raiders now. Saints take the opening drive all the way. Brees goes 4 for 4. Shockey two receptions for 44 yards. Number 44, Heath Evans scores on a 4 yard run.

Green Bay's first team offense looked great last night against Arizona. The all-white o-line looks like it will dominate, much like New England's all-white line and NYG's almost all-white line. We need teams to continue to hold out (and thrive) against the ever-growing sumo infatuation.

Jerheme Urban and Jordy Nelson had big games. Urban had a fumble and a drop but made a bunch of nice catches, some in traffic and some where he was wide open. He also blocked the white way.

Unfortunately Lance Long didn't stand out. He did get robbed of a TD catch at the end of the game though. I figure AZ will keep Early Doucet andWSTD Sean Morey over Long.

Green Bay and Arizona probably have the best 1-4 WRs in the league. If Breaston (currently injured) and/or Boldin (injury prone, unhappy with his contract) miss time, Urban, along with Hartline, are the two best shots for breakthrough seasons by white WRs in '09.

Forgot to add, Matt Leinart threw for over 300 yards in the second half against Green Bay's (all-black) backup defense. I think Leinart will be a star when Warner is ready to step aside. All he needs is half-decent protection and he will be very good.

i was watching the cardinals packers game and it looked like Rodgers Cromartie got burned multiple times. Maybe the Cardinals should give Dusin Fox a chance.

Jordy Nelson got well behind Rodgers-Cromartie on his long TD catch, and after he caught the ball "DRC," as the announcers affectionately kept calling him, couldn't close any ground.

The media kept predicting that those rough and tough Philly fans, the ones who booed Santa Claus, were going to give Vick an especially nasty greeting.  Instead they gave him a standing ovation.

Of course! Who would expect otherwise?Dan Lurie and Vick's agent must be high fiving each other.

Nantz and Simms were boasting about what a "freak athlete" Galloway is during the game a few days ago.

that was last night's game against the Redskins. Matt Jones is more of a freak. Bigger, stronger, and at this stage of the game just as fast as Galloway because Galloway is 37 years old.

Jordy did get about 3 yards behind DRC, I really wish it was just a yard or less, this way no excuses as for why DRC couldnt catch him, Jordy's top end speed is just as fast as DRC, but, as his 4.29 40 shows, DRC has a bit more burst then Jordy, but it didnt do him much on this play lol!

DRC is one of those guys who's speed got him millions of dollars in guranteed money. This year's equivalent is Darrius Hayward Bay of the Raiders, i don't think that this guy will be a solid NFL reciever.

This is not a defense of Oakland QB Russell, the Saints did drop two sure-fire interceptions today after all, but the Raiders' wide receivers looked miserable today. Al Davis has instituted his own cash for clunkers program. I wonder if their thinking of upgrading. Mike Hass might be available soon. Matt Jones is a phone call away. Wait, Marvin Harrison has the endorsement of Tony Dungy. That's the answer.

yeah the Raiders wide receivers were horrible, but at least Garcia was able to take them down the field and score. But that is a pathetic offense when you can't score on the Saints SECOND team defense. Saints took their starters out earlier than most do in the 3rd preseason game because the score was so bad, Drew Brees was out practically out at the start of the second quarter, 21-0. I know Brees is a top 5 qb (Id say he is top 3) but 3 td drives in one quarter is really good, and hes good with mostly no name wide receivers (5,000 yards thrown last year, not one single 1,000 yard receiver). I wish the Saints would have kept Hass, he would have thrived in their system and had several 1,000 yard seasons by now. Raiders kept their first string team out there against our second and third stringers.

I know I said it last game but Shockey is looking like he is going to have a breakout season.

Looks like White WR Matt Simon is headed to the Saints practice squad. He had a great training camp but barely any plays went his way this preseason. Harrington had a nice throw to him last week that he caught but this week only one pass thrown to him by Harrington that was way over his head.

The only positives from the Raiders to me seemed like Zach Miller with a few big catches, and WR/return man Nick Miller who had some nice returns and I think one or two passes thrown his way that he caught from Garcia.

Didn't watch the ATL game but they just showed a highlight of Ryan to Finneran. I hope he is a bigger part of their offense this season.

Furrey made the highlight reel too. A good thing that two White receivers made it because most dwf's only watch espn's highlights.Edited by: dwid

The dark NFC is going to be worth watching:

-Cutler with the Bears
-Favre with the Vikings
-New Orleans, Green Bay and Dallas all having excellent shots at playoff berths.
-Even if Carolina made the playoffs, that would still be preferable over Philly.

Heck, I almost forgot about Atlanta! Whether they make the playoffs or not, they still have the power to harm the really undesirable teams in the NFC.

The NFC is going to be wilder than ever. Can the DWF's deal with it all?
