I don't know if you guys noticed, but after Louisville beat Arizona by 30 they pretty much did a rendition of soul train, dancing around, posing for pictures. Pretty much acting completely classless and arrogant. Then the "slow" "fundamentally sound" "Tough" Big 10 team, Michigan State, rolls in with the the classiest coach in the nation in Tom Izzo (who graduates nearly all his players) and absolutely takes them to the woodshed, completely embarrassing them.
Classic case of Good Vs Evil.

I hope MSU can destroy Jim Calhoun's team of thugs that is the UConn Huskies. I also hope UNC can destroy all-black Villanova. Anybody know when the last time 'Nova played a white man was? Jay Wright seems like a huge caste whore, on the level of Calhoun and Calipari.
@ fightingtowin, usually the all-black teams out there are the ones who are arrogant and stupid most of the time. Many of the players on these teams are ball-hogs.

The last white of note for Villanova was Mike Nardi.
From Wikipedia: At Villanova, Nardi was most commonly known for his three point shooting abilities and his strength off the dribble. He posted 11.8 points per game his senior year. Nardi was a member of the "four guard lineup" alongside Randy Foye, Allan Ray, and Kyle Lowry, that led the Wildcats to an NCAA tournament number one seed, and an elite eight appearance where they lost to the eventual champions, Florida. They were ranked as high as the #1 team in the country in 2006 and they never left the top 10 that season. They split the regular season Big East title with UConn and lost to Pitt in the Big East tournament.
Nardi currently plays guard for Scavolini Spar Pesaro in the Italian League - Serie A.

No doubt about it. But even MSU, which only has 1 white guy getting PT (although he is their best player) would never be caught dead showing up an opponent like that.Why?Jack Lambert said:

Izzo and Pitino embody the Midwest vs. East coast. Pitino, from NY, shows up in his $3,000 suit, slicked back hair, run and gun team full of these supposedly super human black athletes and then Izzo shows up, raised in Upper Michigan, with his messed up hair, rumpled suit he got from J.C. Penney's and a tough nosed basketball team who is going to out work you with their blue collar mentality.
Although Izzo only has one white contributor, he seems to have no bias against white players. His two best players recently were Drew Neitzal and Paul Davis. He has two highly rated white recruits already committed.
And a side note, I have nothing against the East Coast, just pointing out the different styles. Probably my best friend from college was a fast talking half Italian half Jew from Queens NY who looked like a young Al Pacino

I don't really follow pro or college basketball, but are there any teams remaining who play a decent number of whites? And, are any of these whites considered star players?

Well Giovani, we have Michigan State, who has 1 white who sees decents playing time, but is their best player. Then we have UNC, who have one of the best in the business Tyler Hansbrough. The Tar Heels also have Bobby Frasor, and freshman center Tyler Zeller, who normally see game time. Marc Campbell (white) was in the game for a minute or two for them against the Sooners.
They don't play each other though, thankfully.
Mich. State plays Jim Calhoun and all-black UConn, and UNC plays all-black Villanova. I'll be rooting against the all-black teams, of course. Hoping for a MSU - UNC championship game.

If the announcer would have called Goran a great athlete, that would've been inaccurate. I've watched the kid play for the last nine years, and athletic he ain't.

GLS is right in that Suton doesn't play above the rim. however, Suton has been a dominant rebounder in the Big 10, and he's been Michigan State's best big man for the past couple of years. he was expected to have a breakout year this season, but injuries hampered him early on.
Suton is yet another example that one can be an exceptional basketball playerwhile not leaping over tall buildings in a single bound.

Suton doesn't have explosive athleticism, but he has quick feet, very good balance and excellent coordination for a big man. MSU's last very good big man was Paul Davis, who was a big body with some good post moves, but he was often getting knocked off balance onto the floor. Suton doesn't get knocked off balance. And the way Suton can play on the perimeter, especially the free throw line extended reminds me of Okur. However, Suton is a much better pick and roll defender because of his lateral quickness. When he defends the perimeter you often see him in a crouched position like a guard, which you don't see too often with big guys. And the way he is able to rebound and tip out missed shots is very athletic. He can't drive baseline and dunk it on somebody like Psycho T or Griffin, but he has very good under the room athleticism.

it seems like it is UNC's year but Michigan State and Villanova are teams of destiny.
should be an interesting Final Four.
I like the Michigan State story and Izzo, and UNC is a class act so I guess I will pull for those two teams.

Suton grows into more than a story
When Goran Suton's family returned home to war-torn Sarajevo, the first floor of their house was completely burned and the third floor was missing most of the roof.
So they settled on the second floor.
And his life as a person in the center had begun.
In the course of his 23 years, Suton has been in the center of an ethnic battle zone, the center of high school attention, the center on a Final Four basketball team, and this week, the center of an international media storm.
He will no doubt get more questions from reporters today than any Michigan State teammate, partly because he's playing great, partly because he'll draw the assignment of guarding Connecticut's 7-foot-3 giant, HashÂÂeem Thabeet, in Saturday's semifinals  and mostly because his back story is straight out of an art house movie.
"When people first started trying to relate my life to basketball, it was cool," he says, "but after a while, you keep telling the same stories, it gets old as well. To be honest, I'd rather be talking three-pointers than Bosnia."
Fat chance. Suton's tales of bullets and bombs as a child, land mines in the high grass, his escape on a transport plane, his eventual emigration to the American Midwest  all make him a media magnet.
He should wear a sign: "FEATURE STOÂÂRY."
Basketball on two continents
Even Suton can't deny the unusual path.
How many kids go from playing hoops in a building once used for the Winter Olympics to a gym where Magic Johnson honed his high school skills?
"It was a real culture shock," Suton said of practices in Lansing versus Sarajevo. "Back there, we shared the gym with other groups.
One time this dance team rented space, and they were practicing, and all the kids on our team kept staring at the girls. Finally our coach said, 'Hey. You want to dance, go over there. If not, then play basketball.' " Suton laughs, but it hasn't always been a laughing life. The war was real. The displaceÂÂment was real. The horrible conflict between Serbs and Bosnians was real. His early days as an outsider in the United States were real.
"It's a bit hard to fit in when you're a 6ÂÂfoot-5 freshman wearing glasses," he said. "I think some people thought I was dumb in high school because I would mumble, or my English wasn't good. In a class like biology, it was hard. I didn't understand the words. I spent hours after school with my teacher."
It isn't the typical prep school experience for basketball stars. Most of them are being coddled and pampered, ushered along in the fast lane, chased by college recruiters.
Suton first had to master the game. Then he had to get tough about it. He didn't arrive at MSU with a lot of fanfare. Most thought he was, optimistically, "a project."
Tom Izzo, who has blown a few throat nodÂÂules screaming at his developing center, joked this week that the early days with Suton were like going "from Magic to tragic."
Agreat place to hoop it up
But never underestimate a man in the cenÂÂter of things. Suton gradually developed the toughness to go with the predictable Eastern European shooting touch. He has blossomed into an unusual threat, a Mehmet Okur-type, capable of snagging hard rebounds and bangÂÂing jumpers with equal success.
Kansas didn't know how to handle him.

Thabeet may be a handful, but he'll have his hands full as well.
Of course, first Suton has to get through the media. Fortunately, he has been to a Final Four before, freshman year, even though he didn't play. "The most amazing thing," he remembers, "was the police cars escorting your bus through a city. It makes you feel like you're flying in the middle of cars."
Then again, for a guy who seems to have been in the middle of a lot of things, it's just another notch in his belt. Expect great play out of Suton. Expect some very intelligent reÂÂsponses. Mostly, expect appreciation for being in the middle of all this.

Suton got into foul trouble early, but there is no denying his athleticism. If he were black, people would be gushing about his quickness on the perimeter for a big man. He's very quick and coordinated and had a pretty incredible save which demonstrated what an excellent athlete he is.j41181 said:1 down, 1 to go!

Suton is the only MSU white player who gets playing time, however, they have two top white recruits already committed for 09 and 10 and Drew Neitzal and Paul Davis were their former best players (who both made the Final Four also); I just want to point out that Izzo is not anti-white even though it may look like that this year.

Boy that Frasor kid is Bird like in anticipating the long rebounds. I just wish he would shoot more. You're a D1 player who's good enough to play for North Carolina. You're a guard. Try a couple shots while you're at it.

Bobby Frasor from UNC was a helluva player as a freshman. it's a shame repeated injuries have taken away his explosiveness off the dribble.
despite the myriad injuries, however, head coach Roy Williams still says Frasor is the Tarheels best on-ball defender.
