This has to be the best NCAA finals I've seen in years. Both teams (UNC and MSU) had very good white players, and both played very well (though Hasnbrough could do better).
Goran Suton (17 points, 11 rebounds) was superb in 'n out, and Hansbrough (18 points, 7 rebounds) was his usual, but I've got to give his teammates a lot of credit. Ty Lawson was brilliant with 8 steals (Finals record), Ellington was sniping, and so was Davis. UNC was just too much for MSU despite Suton's efforts.
Frasor grabbed a crucial rebound, and scored on a breakaway layup (happy graduation), Ty Zeller managed to get 1 point (good luck to him next year). But overall congratulations to North Carolina, for their 5th title, that ties 3rd (with Indiana) for most in NCAA history.
Congratulation to Tyler Hansbrough,
he has done what Larry Bird failed to do (win an NCAA title), and what Dirk Nowitzki failed to do at this point (win a title).
Kudos to him for winning the NCAA title.
This finals had a record crowd of
70,000+, and this is definitely one for the history books! The fact that very good white players were involved.
