There are (as usual) plenty of interesting white prospects in NCAA basketball from various positions, this current one is no exception. The '09 NBA draft saw only a few whites make it (most notable are Hansbrough & Budinger), let's just hope this current NCAA tourney will reveal more interesting white NBA prospects, or just for pro basketball in general.

There are too many teams for me to keep an eye on. So I'll list the ones I can keep track on (The rest is from YOU GUYS):

Duke
Notre Dame
Purdue
Gonzaga
Kansas
Santa Clara
Bulter (thanks celticb15)
BYU

Robbie Hummel (Purdue) played great on opening night:

17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks

Cole Aldrich (Kansas) was solid too:

11 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, 4 blocks Edited by: j41181

I'll add Butler, even ESPN is saying they have a shot at making it to the Final Four. I really want to see more of Matt Howard

Luke Harangody and Notre Dame win 86-65:

Harangody - 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks

Ben Hansbrough (Tyler's little bro) is actually Harangody's teammate (I had no idea):

Hansbrough - 19 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists (5-5 3pt's)

Butler won 73-62 over Davidson, Hayward & Howard were solid:

Hayward - 17 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Howard - 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks

Ben Hansbrough is a very talented SG who started his college career at Mississippi State. He did not play last season due to the transfer.

Thanks for the stats. Greatly appreciated!

Man Oglivy sure is having a hard time. Two years ago we were talking about him being a top 20 prospect. Injuries seem to plague the Aussie.

What's the story on Jon Diebler? He is averaging 15 ppg this season and shooting over 40 % from 3 point range. Is this kid not considered an NBA prospect? I can't find him on any mock drafts.

Nope, I can't see any mocks drafts on him either. It's most likely as you asked, he's NOT NBA material. It's funny, there was a saying that shooting is a lost art in the NBA, when there are pure shooters like Dirk, Peja, Nash, and Bargnani around, and streaky shooters like this dude in the NCAA college ranks. Guys like Jason Kapono, and Matt Carroll are really getting booted out. If those two only see the NBA bench, I doubt someone like Jon Diebler will make the cut.

In the 90's there were tons of great white shooters like Mark Price, Brent Price, Chris Mullin, and Hornacek. We are seeing less and less of that now.

NBA has alarmingly developed an insane appetite for players like Lebron and Carmelo, guys who can do anything, including shooting. But really, as "super-talented" they are, they'd NEVER beat the guys you've mentioned in a shooting contest, not by a long-shot. Jason Kapono's back-to-back 3pt. shooting titles brought great memories of the 90's, when whites (except Craig Hodges) dominated the 3pt. shooting contest. Whites also dominated the 3pt. contest in the 2000's, but with guys like these getting fewer 'n fewer, the 2010's look really dim, as in pitch black. I just hope that the few whites who do get in the NBA in the coming years are still the best of shooters, WAT BETTER than these "super-affletes."

Luke Harangody is simply SMOKING RED HOT:

32 points (10-14 FG's, 2-2 3pt's, 10-10 FT's)

Notre Dame beats Liberty, 91-72. He's definitely the best of the NCAA whites (Cole Aldrich is not far behind) at the moment. There is a very considerable hope that he and Toby Gerhart might just make it big in their respective pro sporting leagues (NFL, NBA).

Another great one for Harangody, as the Fighting Irish maul the Owls, 80-62:

29 points (11-22 FG's, 0-3 3pt's, 7-8 FT's)
15 rebounds
4 assists

It would be a wonderful year in NCAA sports if Harangody won the Naismith Award, and Gerhart won the Heisman Award.

Well...it's about time! Andrew Ogilvy had his best game in probably a year. If injuries are hampering his progress, best of luck to him in fighting back. Vanderbilt beats Arizona 84-72. The Natyazhko dude had a good game.

Andrew Ogilvy - 20 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 4 blocks

Kyryl Natyazhko - 9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist

Arizona needs to play Kyryl more. Even Jacobsen is a descent big man for the Cats but has rarely seen any playing time this year.

Great game by Ogilvy.

Duke looked awesome tonight beating the Asu Sun Devils. White stars all over the floor for both teams.

Rotnei Clarke is definitely the teams go-to-guy!

Not bad for a 6'0 white guard!

It is a pleasure watching Purdue tonight. Along with Hummel and Kramer, several other white players see the floor for the Boilermakers. There have been up to 4 whites on the floor at once for Purdue.

Wake Forest was an absolute turnover-machine in the 2nd half! Congrats to Purdue for winning!

Juan Fernandez - 33 points, 1 rebounds, 4 assists (7-9 3pt's)

This dude is a sophomore from Argentina, one of the country's bright young prospects.

The baby-faced assassin of Butler, Gordon Hayward, is one player to watch out for. He's a member of the U-19 US National team that recently won the U-19 World Championships. At 6'8, Hayward has the ideal height and skills to play as a combo guard-forward.

Although he might be compared to Mike Miller, he doesn't yet possess his passing game. He's more or less part of a growing breed of streaky shooting white players in the mold of Peja Stojakovic. We need more white players like that in the NBA. It's safe to say that, Peja is actually the white version of Reggie Miller. Edited by: j41181
