As the 2006 regular season comes to a close, it looks like my team, the Raiders (the reason why i have the charger helmet as my avatar is because lance alworth is my all time fav player) are gonna have the #1 pick in the draft. Now, I frequent the Raider message boards quite often, and it sickens me to see how many of these buffoons don't want us to draft Brady Quinn (Aaron Brooks just aint cutting it people) but would rather have us draft Adrian Peterson (who on all mock drafts I have seen, none them have him going any higher than #3, and why the HELL would we draft a RB when our problem is so obviously the QB position) or even worse, wanting us to draft JaMarcus Russell out of LSU (what kind of name is JaMarcus anyway) But the question I have is that, why are sports message boards littered with these idiots who don't understand the simple fundamentals of how the league works? Brady Quinn should be the OBVIOUS pick for the Raiders, yet the brainwashed caste-fed fans want more black affletes. This is so disgraceful. If the Raiders dont draft Quinn, and draft some loser RB or someone with the name JaMarcus, then i am officially done with professional football
 
LOL @ Aaron Brooks starting at Qb anywhere in the NFL. It took ONE SEASON without him quarterbacking the Saints for them to win the division, take second seed in the NFC playoffs, and have the #1 passing offense in the NFL! Yes, that's right - the Colts are second to the Saints in passing offense!

That guy should have been jettisoned a long time ago. There are guys playing quarterback in the arena league and NFL Europe who are far better than he. Hell, some NFL wide receivers are better quarterbacks than Aaron Brooks!

Brooks sucks and if there is any justice at all in this world, our racist head coach Art Shell will be fired and will take Fumbles the clown with him. The thing I'm worried about is that the caste masters will attempt to bring in another overhyped black QB (such as Russell or Troy Smith) or a running back such as Peterson, and pass up on the true stud that is Brady Quinn. The caste masters on the sports message boards go out of their way to belittle white atheletes and especially white QB's such as Quinn in order to promote the notion that blacks are superior athletes. By all accounts, Quinn should be a Raider next year. Lets just hope that the idiot braintrust hasnt been so entrenched with political correctness that they give Aaron Brooks another chance or even worse, bring in someone like Russell or Smith while passing on a true franchise QB like Quinn
 
Well, one valid reason I could see for not drafting Quinn is because, quite frankly, the Raiders are a complete disaster and, to the extent that the quarterback positions requires some delicate grooming even for gifted whites, putting a young QB in a situation like that would be the kiss of death, even worse than what Carr has gone through in Houston. Caste issues aside, drafting a RB might make more sense, since this position requires less IQ than QB and so a rookie can make a bigger impact. Not sure with the Raiders' O-line whether even that would help, however.

Note that I am not a Raiders fan, but I am a ND-Weiss fan, and I would prefer to see Quinn not get killed, which is the likely result of starting for Oakland. (Yes, Brooks has been awful since his days in New Orleans, but you can't blame everything on him here.)
 
I think Andrew Walter can be a good quarterback, though we'll most likely never find out after his stint starting behind a joke of an offensive line. He's already been dismissed by the Caste System crowd.
 
Lions pick second. Would love to see them pick Quinn or Zibakowski or the Shark.

I think Zib would be best for us. What a beast.
 
Quinn with Martz would be very intrigueing, but since Kitna was fairly productive, most likely they'll pass on a QB.
 
The Raiders will draft Quinn, they have no other options. Brooks is bad, and sad to say Walter is just as bad, Have you seen these two play? OMG. JaMarcus is horribly overrated, but I cannot concur with Troy Smith being overrated, most mocks don't even have him going in the first round. I personally think Smith is the second or third best QB in this draft after Quinn and maybe Brohm.
 
Probably Shell will mercifully be fired. Is Al Davis still looking at the Louiville coach (Petrino, I think)? That might be a good match with Quinn.
 
Raiders need to put their second and third round picks into O-line
 
I hate to say it, but i think Walter is the second coming of Marc Wilson. My beef is with the idiots on the Raider fan boards who want us to go RB simply because they want to "win now" Whatever happened to being patient? All i know is, is come draft day, i better be able to get my Quinn Raiders jersey printed up, otherwise i will be one mad SOB. This season was absolutely DREADFUL having to watch Aaron Brooks (aka Fumbles the Clown) stink it up all season. It was bad enough to watch one sorry black QB make an embarrassment of this once proud organization, I'll be damned if i have to watch another one such as Russell or Smith

to be honest Smith is probably much better a QB than Brooks. I am not so sure about JaMarcus (whatever happen to normal names, anyway).

I really don't think that Raiders have any choice whatsoever in picking and will have to get Quinn. howvere it won't be easy for him to be playing for this franchise, with very few offensive weapons and terrible o-line.
 
Troy smith is different than vick.
 
I honestly, regrettably believe that Zib is better off in boxing or Ultimate Fighting than in football. He'll have a good rookie year where he plays as a backup and a special teams demon, but then will just never settle into a position because of the double standards.

If he wants to make it in pro football, I think he needs to convert to linebacker. Look what happened to Archuleta and how he became public enemy #1 in Washington D.C., because his entire defense stunk and he was okay.
 
Anyone who compares Troy Smith to Michael Vick obviously hasn't watched college football at all this year.
 
the only differences between the two is that Smith probably has better touch on his passes, where as Vick throws balls that only Inspector Gadget could catch, but Vick has better speed where as Smith I believe runs a 4.4 which isnt all that impressive for someone of his size
 
I just read on draftdaddy Peyton Hillis might consider declaring for the draft.
 
well, he's getting screwed over in school, might as well go pro and get screwed over and get a couple of bucks doing it. if he's lucky enough.

The Arkansas News Bureau is reporting University of Arkansas junior fullback Peyton Hillis is weighing his options on declaring for the N.F.L. Draft. The paper writes Hillis could find out that the N.F.L. is not gung-ho for fullbacks in the early rounds, if he does decide to leave.

DD.com Comment: N.F.L. teams do not put a high priority on fullbacks on draft day, but Hillis has special talents. I mean, when is the last time you saw a "fullback" average about 12 yards per punt return over a span of two seasons?

In the summer of 2005 Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt told the media Hillis would be in for a lot work as a halfback/fullback/H-Back. That summer he also stated Hillis' skills (size, speed, power) compared favorably to those of former Auburn star Ronnie Brown, who was the 2nd overall pick in 2005 N.F.L. Draft. While Hillis did have an all-around productive sophomore season in 2005, he was almost a total non-factor (except as a blocker) as a junior due to injuries and a lack of touches, when he was healthy.

Even though his overall skills could interest N.F.L. teams desperate for a quality fullback, we can't see how leaving after an injury plagued junior season will help his draft stock. Some Razorback fans we have talked to suggest Hillis "might" look to go elsewhere in college football (maybe even DI-AA) for his final season, so he can showcase his all around skills in full. If he does transfer from Arkansas (or leave for the N.F.L.), Razorback fans certainly can't complain, as he always played hard. He's a prime time athlete, used like a walk-on at times, so how can anyone begrudge him for wanting to show off his full compliment of skills to his future employers?



He should look west to the MWC or WAC if he wants a legit shot at playing RB. I hope that is the decision he makes so he is able to make his mark on the college level.
 
If anyone reading this board knows Hillis at all or can contact him PLEASE suggest he transfer to a MWC or WAC school (as suggested by Leonardfan). They will appreciate his skills and maybe give him a shot. Imagine Hillis running for Boise St. or Colorado St. or someone like that. He is a high quality athlete, it is just so sad that he picked Arkansas or any SEC/Big 10 type of school (probably at the urging of friends or family) instead of going where he REALLY had a chance to play. We really need to get the word out to these kids.
 
Maybe Utah, CSU already has the beast known as Kyle Bell ready to return next year

. I do wish Hillis good luck in whatever he does and his great physical ability might get him a shot if he declares.
 
To me it is more important which team drafts a guy instead of what round they are drafted in. It's nice to be able to say so and so whites were taken in the earlier rounds, but what I hope for is the guys taken in the later rounds get picked up by teams where they have a shot to play and not just be roster fodder. A guy like Weddle, for instance. A team like the Bears could draft him to "add depth to their secondary" in the 2nd round, but I'd much rather him go in the 5th round to say the Packers, Falcons or a team like the Patriots who all have needs in the secondary and would give him a chance to play.

Look at a guy like Anthony Fasano, for instance. I thought if he wen to a team like again Green Bay or a team with a need at TE, he'd be very productive and start. Instead, Dallas takes him in round 2 and he sits behind Jason Witten. Not something we want happening.
