    Fast HSer

That is true enough but my thought was that the talent evaluators will generally overlook the obvious speed that white players may possess, especially at the skill positions, unless the player in question has currrent speed credentials.

Great info SteveB. Sounds like all the white sprinting talent is being drawn off by other sports. Do you know if of these guys are planning to run track also?It seems to me if they don't run track that no matter how successful they are in their respective collegiate careers in other sports...

A friend of mine is an OU fan and he said that since Young's Wonderlic performance he is referred to in their chat rooms as Radio.

    Drake Relays

I think Picou could surprise with a top three finish. Two weeks ago he ran an Academy record 20.73. I think he is a guy that could develop into a 200 specialist ala Kevin Little. His goal is to be selected to the World Class Athlete Program which would allow him to continue his training after...

Finally! elected official does his job

Kudos to Georgia! A friend of mine's dad is a VP of a bank in Lawton, OK. A couple came in recently to open up a savings account for their three year old daughter. Oops, her SSN was already on a bank account... in Los Angeles. Citing privacy laws they would give the couple no more...

    Draft

I was laughing about Schlereth's hip fetish with my wife and she said the only football player she has noticed with tight hips is Jerry Rice on Dancing With the Stars.

Does anyone actually watch the nba?

Apparently Argentinian Carlos Delfino isn't so excited by the NBA either. http://www.fiba.com/pages/en/events/blockbusters/world_champ _men_06/article_World_Champ_Men.asp?cookietest=done&r_act_ne ws=12108&r_cat=8 A society of sheep must in time beget a government of wolves. Bertrand de...

    Draft

ESPN had a draft show today with Kiper, Schlereth, Woodson and Kolber. A.J. Hawk was on for a banal interview with Kolber. After it was over Schlereth gave it as his opinion that Hawk was too "tight in the hips" to be of any use in pass coverage. Woodson disagreed. This hip thing has just...

    John Woods

Woods ran at the Colorade Invitational this weekend and was second in the 100(10.47) and 200(21.32). His affiliation was Nike so it looks like he might be getting a little support. Travis Picou won the 100 and the 200 going 10.46 and 20.73.

    MVP

All else being relatively equal what would you rather have in todays NFL? Average backs with a superstar reciever or average receivers with a superstar runningback?

    Jeremy Bloom

Weird van Patten digression but I liked it! Vince van Patten was the ATP Rookie of the Year in '79. He also had a winnig record against McEnroe having beat him twice. Highest ranking was 26th in the world. National paddle tennis(whatever that is) champ in 1999.

    Epiphanny Prince scores 113

Has there been a "names" thread? I agree with Sunshine. It also smacks of a cheap way to be special. Not to mention the violence done to the language. I would like to see a list of all the variant spellings of Tamika for instance. My personal favorite name is that of former USC tailback...

    Drew Morano

Some results from the Air Force Invitational. Morano was third in the 60 in 6.91( 6.88 prelims) Steven Koehnemann was second in 6.81. Travis Picou won the 200 in 21.41 with Domenik Peterson second in 21.45.

Looks like Morano might be recovering from last years bad hammy. Won the 200 and 400 at the Nebraska Triangular last week. Went 21.61 and 48.63.

    John Riggins, A Personal Viewpoint

Here's a snippet from the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame site:At Centralia High School, the 6Ã’-2Ãâ€￾, 220 pound fullback was an imposing figure who averaged over 13 yards per carry and an unbelievable 61 yards on punt returns to lead the Panthers to a 9-0 state championship season in 1966. A...

    Some stats

Distorted as some of these stats might be Shogun's insight is the moral of this tale of woe. Many of the conditions cited by the compilers of this list are in large measure outcomes that could be expected from people(regardless of color) that are lacking in intelligence and thereby the ability...

    Craig Mottram

Mottram just oozes toughness. His performance in Boston bodes well for outdoors. I would think that his large frame(by distance running standards) might inhibit him indoors but obviously he's dealing with it.
