    Matthew Boling 9.98, 19.92, 44.84 and 8.25 LJ

Oh, I agree with you! But since it is a big meet, I highly doubt they will give him the weekend off. Unless he has some sort of minor injury.

    Matthew Boling 9.98, 19.92, 44.84 and 8.25 LJ

There is a big meet this weekend at LSU, and the Georgia track team will be competing. So I expect Boling will be racing there and hoping to do redeem himself a bit from the previous weeks' performances. I don't know if he is running the 100m or 200m, but I hope the 200m, because he is...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80! -- Part Two

Pierre Carraz, the coach of Christophe Lemaitre died 4 months ago. I don't know how much credit he should get for Lemaitre's success; but I have to think he played a significant role in Lemaitre's shortcomings. Of course, I can only speculate. We don't know what his coaching and training were...

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Boling's times in high school were incredible. Now 4 years later - 4 years of training and 4 years of physical maturation - his improvement from 10.11 to 9.98 is actually not that impressive. I've mentioned this before, but now, more than ever, I am of the mind that Boling should return to...

But he was over-raced last year too, and had the same coach, and yet still ran PRs of 9.98 and 19.92. Both in April. So there is something more to Boling's decline this season; although I don't know what it is.

Here are Mia Brahe-Pedersen and Gaitlin Bair, who are already, two of the all-time high school sprinters. Would be nice if they became a couple and had loads of fast little kids. :)

Surprised to see that the fastest U18 (under 18yrs old) so far this year in the 100m, is Yat Lok-Chan from Hong Kong. He has run 10.40. Werner Bezuidenhout of South Africa is the fastest white U18, with a time of 10.45.

Abby Steiner wins the 200m at the Michael Johnson Invitational in 22.30 (1.5w). That's the 3rd fastest 200m time this year (and she has also run the 2nd fastest 200m time this year). So at least she is still on track for a good season.

Mia Brahe-Pedersen also wins the 100m at the Oregon Relays in a time of 11.35 (-0.2w). A very good time given the wet weather and negative wind. Gaitlin Baer also gets a double victory, winning the 100m in 10.43 (0.1).

Mia Brahe-Pedersen won the Girls 200m in 23.01. That's the #2 high school time in the country. Gaitlin Bair won the Boys 200m in 20.83. That's the #3 h.s. time in the country. Both races run in poor, wet conditions.

Gaitlin Baer will be running at the Oregon Relays this weekend. Even though he is a junior, this will be his last season competing in track. Here's more about him: https://www.dyestat.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=44531&do=news&news_id=659726

Johnson was a 400m / 200m sprinter. I believe he rarely ran the 100m. I don't recall Carl Lewis ever competing in the 60m. Obviously he did, but rarely I think.

Just noticed that Team USA in the Women's 4x400m relay at the Mt Sac Relays, included Shae Anderson, Jenna Prandini, and Brittany Aveni. Wow!! 3 out of 4 were white.

    2023 World Outdoor Season

Zach Shinnick who was an incredible 400m runner as a junior, and basically disappeared at college (injuries?), won his heat of the 200m at the Mt Sac relays, in 20.56 (1.8w). Glad to see that he is still competing.
