Haha sounds like Wes has a keeper! I find it really annoying how critical people can be of Welker and his drops. I know they don't happen that often and all but geez. Brandon Marshall and Andre Johnson put up those kind of stat lines all the time yet no mention of their drops in the write ups. But then again they have that swagger and unlimited upside.

She isn't the only person with memory that extends beyond the last game played. I was listening to the weekly Pro Football Weekly radio broadcast and Hub Arkish the publisher stated he was sick of the canonization of Ray Lewis. To me that took more balls than a wife of a player stating this as he makes money of the hype of football.

I caught just a bit of Ray Lewis/Colin Krapernick worshipping on the radio today and oddly enough a guy called in to rip Ray Lewis and the deification he is getting. The DJ mentioned that they get a lot of messages along those lines. But what he didn't say is that the guys that do the broadcasting never make any mention of it. So there are some peoples out that that are getting tired of it.

Whites that make these kinds of controversial comments against protected groups aren't stupid. They know the score. The apology is just part of the game. She probably had it written ahead of time. Just once I'd like to see someone mock the game by issuing a satirical version of the prerequisite apology.

And in spite of this, I'm still rooting for Ray to win come Super Bowl Sunday. Not because I like him but because it will prevent a magic negro 'supaman' QB from winning an undeserved championship, especially after the treatment of Alex Smith.

She only apologized because to not do so would make life increasingly uncomfortable not only for her husband in the NFL, but also for herself.

& Lewis has had a great NFL career.. but the Mrs. was pointing out Lewis' sordid life off the field, which should dis-qualify him as a role model. On & off-the field lives are generally two different things, EXCEPT Lewis is routinely depicted as some kind of noble warrior, whose nobility transcends his time on the field. The guy was convicted of obstruction of justice, in a murder trial.. that's not the kinda' sh-t a saint (or role model) generally gets caught up in. Reminding ppl of that, and highlighting the stupidity of the Lewis' hagiolatry didn't make Welker's wife a 'sore loser'.. her timing comes off as sour grapes, but, she's right.

I don't mean to jump on your comments but c'mon "obstruction of justice"? This is castefootball man, let's tell it like it is. He and some friends were involved in a fight, witnesses said he stabbed someone-who died--Lewis turned states evidence against his friends in exchange for a reduced sentence. That's a bit more of a story then "obstruction of justice" which he got for ditching the blood covered clothes he was wearing--which would have convicted him-perhaps.
I say perhaps because in exchange for his plea bargain he paid for the other two friends attorneys which resulted in them getting off on "self defense". He has also paid off the families of the guys murdered. So he might have gotten off anyway, but why risk it when you have millions of dollars and the worship of millions of fans.
I'm tired of hearing the media tip toe around this subject and saying "oh he was guilty of obstruction of justice" which makes it sound like he refused a breathalyzer test or something. He plea bargained himself out of a murder charge using the power of his fame and money. Yeah he's a good football player, but so what. There are millions of White guys that never got the chance to show they are great players because the NFL gives passes to black thugs. So screw him. And his phoney baloney black preacher bit which is going to be ramped up so high the next couple of weeks that he might be running for political office next year.

I agree with your instinctual feelings about what probably went down, but the verdicts (and lack of sentences) are what they are. I admire Welker's wife for callin' Lewis out, but her timing does de-value her criticism.. & it's a shame it's left for her to do, since the media just rolled over on this story 10 years ago, when it could've been critiqued..

NE IMO needs to do what McCarthy did to revive Favre's career in 2006, power running game. Bring in a FB who is a three phase player, runner, blocker and receiver and take the load off of Brady. After the game, Terrell Suggs made comments about the Patriots being "arrogant pricks," in particular Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, but he referred to the entire team. The game clearly had racial undertones given that it featured the very narrow demographic "extremes" allowed by the Caste NFL. Suggs of course didn't have any pressure put on him to apologize or retract his statements.

Yes watched it and was mad by the outcome.Yes they hit Welker hard but for the most part he's earned the respect of a lot blacks but 100 catches year and year out will do that for you.You know now instead of hard hits they might become cheap hits and I don't want Welker to get hurt because I think he could end up as the 2nd all time in catches if he stays healthy.
