They may be on to something with the whole no criminal record thing. In theory that should mean more whites but we shall wait and see. It will be interesting to see where they situate the 8 teams.

My thoughts exactly. It seems like McMahon is trying to tap into the fan base who is fedup with all of the typical afflete shennanigans and crimes. However he had to use Manziel as the poster boy for what he does not want in the league. His aim is obvious - to capture the audience that has left the NFL due to the asinine "protests" and off field antics and try to produce a type of football that embraces middle America. I doubt it will be successful because the NFL is such a juggernaut but if the AFL can survive than McMahon can probably do the same.

I think Manziel came up in the press conference. Not him directly bringing him up. He needed to someway camouflage why he has that rule and Manziel was the way to do it without no one thinking otherwise. He did say Tebow was welcome if he wants to come.

Let's not forget. Manziel has real problems and as Deion Sanders, whether you like him or not, did nail it when he called him ghetto. The way he acted when in the league was pretty bad, maybe not as bad as blacks, but pretty bad to be thrown out back in the day as well.

I won't disagree that Manziel was a moron at all. It does sound like he is getting his act back together. Why not mention Greg Hardy or Junior Galette at well?

Is it misdemeanors too? Technically a DIU conviction or being sent to a diversionary program for a DIU or shoplifting could get you barred from the league. It seems a bit heavy handed for me.

People have been saying this league is a competitor to the NFL. I expect the pay to be the equivalent of the CFL, so that league is the league that will have a harder time signing free agents if this league takes off. I can't see this league paying better than CFL money or the Arena League before they had restructuring.

Since it will not be competing directly against the NFL, being played late Winter/Spring, I expect that it will end up being effectively an NFL farm system. Now that might not be such a bad thing if white players are able to have a chance to shine in this "criminality free" league.

Not sure if they'll allow players with misdemeanors. I do agree best case scenario, XFL becomes white friendly version of farm system for NFL. I'm curious to see what states/cities McMahon chooses to target. Will he choose densely populated areas or set up shop in traditionally "red states"?

A couple of cities off the top of my head

WEST:
Salt Lake City
Portland
Santa Fe
Tulsa

South:
Little Rock
Mobile
Charleston

EAST:
Norfolk/Richmond *Huge Military base
Hartford? They'll probably want some sort of presence in Northeast

North:
Louisville
Omaha

I know that Vince brought up DUI as specifically not allowed. So maybe misdemeanor as well. I think he is treating it as normal businesses act. DUI can screw people there.

The Last Super Bowl? As NFL Ends Troubled Season, XFL Could Capitalize On A Divided America

PAUL KERSEY • FEBRUARY 3, 2018

mcmahon-600x308.jpg

The Philadelphia Eagles meet the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 4). But, 52 years after it began, this may be the last time the Super Bowl commands American football fans’ undivided attention—because America itself is dividing.

World Wrestling Entertainment [WWE]’s Vince McMahon announced January 25 that he is bringing back the XFL, and Main Stream Media enforcers are furious. [‘Alt-Football?’ Left Furious At Return Of XFL, WND, January 26, 2018] But they shouldn’t be surprised: the return of the XFL is only natural at a time when the NFL is taking sides in the culture war against the Historic American Nation. And, just as Donald Trump rallied actual Americans to defy the MSM, McMahon could find a large constituency ready to defy our hostile elite.

Of course, President Trump blasted the NFL players who knelt in protest during the national anthem, saying they should be fired. MSM journalists backed the anti-American players, and dutifully pressed McMahon on the flag issue at his press conference—especially as the XFL’s colors are now red, white and blue. McMahon made it clear his players would stand for anthem:

“I think, again, it’s a time-honored tradition to stand and appreciate the national anthem with any sport,” McMahon said during a press conference introducing the league. “Here in America–for that matter, in any country…so I think it’d be appropriate to do that.”

[XFL players should stand for national anthem, Vince McMahon says, by Thomas Barrabi, Fox Business, January 25, 2018]

And, in another sharp break from NFL practice, McMahon also said that players would not be allowed to compete if they have criminal records. [No kneeling, no criminals: XFL’s new rules draws cheers, jeers on Twitter, by Pete Blackburn, CBSsports.com, January 25, 2018]

McMahon’s make sense considering his background. Though raised in North Carolina, he’s spent his adult life in Connecticut, where, after buying out his father’s stake in the WWF wrestling organization, he worked to consolidate wrestling territories across the country into the WWF (renamed WWE in 2002). The new wrestling franchise became a global phenomenon that created icons like Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. From being a regional sideshow, McMahon turned the WWE into a powerful trendsetter in both sports and entertainment.

The WWE has traditionally drawn on Politically Incorrect themes to create both heroes and villains. Older fans will remember Hulk Hogan desecrating the Soviet flag, as an American audience cheered wildly.

But in more modern times, right-wing Americanism was treated with more complexity.

Consider one “Jack Swagger,” who called himself a Real American, would use “We The People” as his slogan, brandished a Gadsden flag, and, as he himself noted, somewhat prophesized the rise of Trump. [Jack Swagger Talks WWE’s Fascination With Foreign Heel Gimmicks, Fightful, December 15, 2017]

Swagger’s manager, “Zeb Coulter,” once went on a rant that Glenn Beck’s The Blaze called an attempt to “defame” the Tea Party. Coulter screamed:

I look around and I see a country I don’t even recognize. I see people with faces not like mine. I see people that I don’t even know what they’re saying. They can’t even talk to me. And I look around and I think, where did all these people come from? But most importantly I think, how do we get rid of ’em? We the people! Americans, real Americans, know the truth! Zeb Colter knows the truth! Jack Swagger knows the truth! Because this is the land of the free and the home of the brave, not the land of the free and whoever wants to cross our borders! … It’s our country and it’s our land, to protect and defend!

[Have You Heard the WWE’s Wildly Racist ‘Tea Party’ Wrestling Character Named Jack Swagger?, by Erica Ritz, February 20, 2013]

Originally, Swagger was supposed to be a heel (villain). But he eventually became a face (good guy), with the audience joyously embracing his slogan of “We the People.”

In some ways, it presaged how Donald Trump himself went from reality show heel to hero in the eyes of so many Americans.

And that’s no accident. Trump (a WWE Hall-of-Famer) and McMahon are long-time friends, partnering together in the 1980s to promote WrestleMania IV and V at one of Trump’s Atlantic City properties [Donald Trump and WWE: How the Road to the White House Began at ‘WrestleMania,’ by Aaron Oster, Rolling Stone, February 1, 2017]. In 2007, they even faced off in a match at WrestleMania XXIII. (You’ve probably seen the edited video in which Trump clotheslines McMahon with a CNN logo.)

And while Vince’s wife, two-time CT GOP Senate nominee Linda McMahon, is hardly an immigration patriot, President Trump nonetheless chose her to be head of the Small Business Administration and hosted the McMahon family at the White House.

Vince McMahon appears to be a pure civic nationalist. He calls Martin Luther King his “hero.” But he also told Playboy in 2001 that “This country gives you opportunity if you want to take it, so don’t blame your environment” . [The Story of Vince McMahon, by David Shoemaker, The Ringer, June 2, 2016] Such proud patriotism doesn’t square with a “mainstream” rhetoric demanding adherence to concepts of “white privilege” and “structural racism.”

Thus, it’s not surprising McMahon’s attempt to Make Football Great Again was quickly denounced as racist by the checkmarks on Twitter and as “divisive” by ESPN pundits. [Well That Didn’t Take Long: Rebooted Xfl Already Being Called Racist,By Donn Marten, Downtrend, January 25, 2018]

Or ESPN’s Michael Wilbon:

“t seems like just garbage—like he wants to sell some sort of whitewashed, idealistic brand of something to the country. I don’t think people are going to buy that. I don’t think you have enough people to fill the spots to even play it. The game is going to end in two hours, you can’t have a criminal record, you can’t have any rebels because you’re all going to salute the flag. I don’t believe in people like this. I don’t believe in this guy, specifically.”

[ESPN’s Wilbon Describes the XFL as a ‘Whitewashed, Idealistic Brand’ of Football, by Trent Baker, Breitbart, January 25, 2018]

These are arrogant reactions considering NFL ratings were down 10 percent in 2017 from the prior year, with white fans making up 85 percent of the lost viewership. [The NFL’s 2017 ratings slide was mainly fueled by white viewers and younger viewers, by Jason Clinkscales, AwfulAnnouncing.com, January 8, 2018]. The actions of black players may have been praised by Leftist sportswriters, but many fans saw them as divisive.

Enter the XFL.

As the Daily Caller’s Scott Greer noted:

“They [fans] don’t want politics, they just want to sit back, relax and watch the game. And that’s what Vince McMahon understands. He has a very tough challenge competing against the NFL and the already-crowded field of sports right now, but just promising a politics-free sport where everyone stands for the anthem and we ban everyone with criminal convictions, you know, I think a lot of Americans would like that, and he sees a market opportunity right now.”

[TheDC’s Greer On Fox Business: Americans Want Politics-Free Sports, by Justin Caruso, Daily Caller, January 26, 2018]

In fact, there does seem to be a market for people who want to see a positive image of their country and who are disgusted with the NFL. [Veterans group not backing down from NFL over #PleaseStand ad rejected for Super Bowl program, by Peter Dawson, Star-Telegram, January 31, 2018] Like Trump, McMahon still believes the USA is like the nation of his youth, where hard work and love of country are the recipe for success in life. And he aims to serve that market.

But McMahon may be underestimating what he’s facing. Colorblind patriotism is increasingly denounced as “white nationalism” today. And an increasing number of white people don’t just want an escape via politics-free entertainment—they really want their country back.

As even professional sports begins to divide, every American is going to have to take a side on far more fundamental questions in the near future. The conflict is irrepressible.

So they keep kicking those fat man boobed jersey wearing Gen Xers in the face and expect to replace them with who? The NFL prospered on two generations the Baby Boomer and the Gen X who lived in their whitopias, so note to the NFL those whitopias of yesteryear are being turned into the third world. And the whitopias that are still in place are the rich who will not let their kids play a low class game such as football.

I think another thing is that the white "elite" liberals outside of the owners hate football, they tried to knock it off with the concussion deal and since that failed they went the womanish back handed way using their guile to ruin the game for the football core fans. These white libs are going to shove diversity in the football's fan's faces till one side or another gives up.

The only thing that can stop the XFL is if the NFL makes adjustments that are in step with the XFL. The NFL must clean up it's act and put more quality men on the field or watch as the XFL takes significant percentages of the pro football marketshare. McMahon is taping into a truly organic movement in this country. This nation has grown tired of worshipping criminals on Sundays.

I am hoping the XFL makes a significant dent in the NFL market. Most of the major companies are all vested in the NFL - CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC(ESPN) so it will be interesting to see which channel(s) will be willing to broadcast the NFLs competition.

The XFL seems like it was originally everything bad about the NFL, but cranked up another notch. Will there be players named "He Hate Me" this time? I'm skeptical of the XFL. The no felons thing would be great, and would automatically mean more white players (or would it?), but I'm certain that the aesthetics will be 100% hip hop. There is an opportunity here for something interesting, but I have my doubts. The people who finance these things are quite happy with the NFL the way it is; they made it that way. I see this as being about as successful as the first incarnation of the XFL.

I agree it's best at this point not to get our hopes up. Vince McMahon is a rarity however in that he's a billionaire and it takes a billionaire, actually several of them, to compete against a longstanding "too big to fail" monopoly like the NFL and all it represents. McMahon is also reputedly a conservative, though conservatives sold out on race over half a century ago. Civic nationalist is probably a better way to describe him.

The XFL, if it doesn't quickly fade again, may end up being the "lesser of two evils" much like the game the Republicans and Democrats play every four years. It may not be quite as overwhelmingly black as the NFL, but to expect it to be significantly whiter isn't likely in the cards -- unless Trump and the deplorables keep moving the social meter rightward. This country is sufficiently, irreversibly polarized to the point that anything is possible if more of the goodwhites stop being spectators and become part of the solution.

I am NOT getting my hopes up. As someone who can't watch Arena Football or even the Canadian Football League I fear this XFL could become a dumping ground for white players who SHOULD be in the NFL. One of those "here you go guys a little league for the white players" type of thing. And Don is correct. It will still be a mainly black league with the possibility of more dual threat black QB's as well.

The AFL was a genuine alternative to the NFL after several years because they were getting some of the top players from college. I don't see that happening here. This XFL idea doesn't compute with me although I do admit the schedule which will follow the Super Bowl isn't a bad idea as football junkies like me miss the fix. And since I follow college football closely I will recognize a lot of the players but as the college basketball tournament gets going in March and baseball lurking in April I find it hard to believe the XFL will thrive. Survive on a low level perhaps.

He probably is better off getting the season started the second week of January right after the NFL regular season and College Bowl games. That way the season will end before baseball starts.

With NFL only employing around 20% white men for decades, it shouldn't be hard for XFL to top that..

Obviously a lot of kinks to work out, but the no criminal record offers some hope. If they can double the number of white guys I'd become an instant fan. Hell if they have more than 3 white guys on every teams defense, I'd become a fan!

XFL 2.0 has a similar business model to the XFL 1.0, which is McMahon owning all the teams. A sports league should have multiple billionaires to finance it, not just one. McMahon has had a dictatorship in the WWE for 35 years, and sticking to this model shows a desire to maintain this power and control in the XFL.

One of the biggest problems with XFL 1.0 was unrealistic expectations. The WWE was at the peak of its popularity in 2000, and it was expected to be an immediate success. Expectations will be lower this time, and McMahon is taking two years to set up the league, rather than one. Though at 72 years old he is very old to take on such a long term project.

McMahon is an autocrat, which is understandable given his previous successes. How much can he learn or adjust from the previous XFL at the age of 72? Likely not much unless he's willing to find and trust a few men who share his vision, whatever that is, to help him make it a reality. He has little to lose and a lot to gain, but I have no clue what his vision is. If he's "pro-White" that's something I'm unaware of from his career arc.

Pro wrestling is very different from football in terms of race. Blacks have had little success in pro wrestling, though other non-whites have excelled. Japan and Mexico have been producing some of the best wrestlers in the world for decades. Interestingly, the winner of both Royal Rumble matches last week were Japanese. Samoans are a minority group that have had great success in the WWE for many years.

I expect the XFL to be just as caste as the NFL. McMahon knows little about football, so I am 100% sure he knows nothing of the caste system. His reason for getting into football is the same as all his family's non-wrestling ventures, which is too acquire elusive mainstream success and recognition, and be more than the king of an industry that is largely ignored and culturally irrelevant. Players will come from NFL castoffs and FBS players who can't make the NFL, maybe even top high school recruits, so the demographics should be the same.

To McMahon's credit, the WWE is probably the most White-friendly entertainment in America. The company was mildly politically incorrect on race in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, and has been largely neutral in the 10s. Unfortunately, Vince's daughter Stephanie is the Ivanka of WWE, and a true believer in cultural marxism, though largely of the feminist variety.

I see McMahon and his XFL as a bellwether. In 2001 McMahon tried to base XFL 1.0 on gluttony, sex, and violence because that time period was the peak of social degeneracy. For XFL 2.0 McMahon again wants to ride a populist wave, but here in 2018 the nation is moving in the direction of Paleoconservatism. McMahon's interest in Paleoconservative values represents a win for those who believe in Trumpism/Right Populism. Even if XFL 2.0 fails, the fact that McMahon is even considering this means things are moving in a favorable direction.

One could argue that XFL 1.0 is analogous to the values of the Clinton years and XFL 2.0 is analogous to the values of the Trump years. ...again, a cultural bellwether.

So the XFL may be "the lesser of two evils"? Well, isn't less evil better than more evil?

I think the best the XFL could do in this day and age is become a more glorified version of the Arena League, which includes playing indoors, but stick to more traditional football rules, maybe even make it more like college ball with the one-foot-in-bounds receiving rule and the targeting rule. They would have to have a very unique and effective marketing campaign and play during the fall like on Wednesday nights. “Wednesday Night Football”. It would have to be very original, yet traditional football.

The demographics in the country are changing rapidly and the MLS announced fairly recently that they are going to a more European schedule, which means they would be playing in January - June. MLS is growing rapidly (I believe they’ve expanded to six more teams just over the past few years) and service the new demographic much better.

More and more White parents say they will not allow their boys to play football and what I’m seeing from college recruiting is an ever darkening of the rosters at all levels of college ball, so I don’t see the XFL being much Whiter.

Personally, by the time March rolls around I’m looking more towards baseball, March “Madness” and even watching more of the European soccer action. The only football I’m interested in that time is researching the NFL draft and college spring ball.

Too much has changed in the country for it to be viable this day and age unless it follows the script I laid out in the first paragraph, IMO.
